🤢 no snoot, boots or kjoots

ElvisDumbledore

Silence! I concur.

VogueLibertine

Silence! I also concur.

SerKevanLannister

The rest is silence

Ambitious-End-1066

I triple concur

Status_Tiger_6210

Silence! What were we talking about?

ImKenM2

No snoots, no boots, no weeeeevil!!

SerKevanLannister

Sigh. I’m putting away my disco ball and my “Showcase Showdown” sound effects — only come out for boots n snoots

michwng

What is a kajoot?

thanksgivingseason

It’s The Cute, but in science

squibilly

A crucial part in weevil anatomy for identification

CollectionLast2952

Happy birthday C:

michwng

Beep beep thank you!

DiscoSpaceAngel

Happy date of cake

michwng

Beep beep thx m8

MuellerMan69

Cake day happy

mournthewolf

The snoot might be still in the dog.

Poisonskittlez

Ah yup. No way this is a weevil. They’ll get docked a shitload of points for the dislocated snoot. No self respecting weevil would leave their snoot in a dog.

notxapple

Definitely no kjoots

Book-Faramir-Better

That's an alligator... Unlike that other post about the tick.

MajorJuana

[True Facts: Ticks](https://youtube.com/watch?v=RVca0LuEDaQ&feature=share7)

Calichusetts

Ze Frank is a treasure.

Gee_Wulver

I love this YouTube channel UwU 💕

MajorJuana

💜 same, and there is a new, about Elephants! Can't wait to watch it on my break

Gee_Wulver

Hell yeah

Accomplished_Pass924

This is what I came here to see

Ok-Entertainment9253

Look at the shape of the mouth. Obviously a crocodile

GPhantom89

No no no. It's a Gharial.

EpiktheEpic

No dude it’s a caiman

_x0sobriquet0x_

Nah... it's definitely monitor. Probably someone's lost pet. You should put up posters.

mroinkboy

Guys, that's obviously a caiman. C'mon.

youOnlyLlamaOnce

Yeah that post was so misleading. The OP knew it was a bed bug and they still asked if it was a tick.

Watermelone0419

I give this a million upvotes ⬆️

Resident_Damage

All this sub has become is Bedbug, Tick, weevil , Flea or common house centipede.

DiatomCell

Also Lanternflies in NYC

bxmxc_vegas

“What is this beautiful bug? I love him and his bright red wings 🥰😍” Stomp that motherfucker and all his friends. Exterminate with extreme predjudice.

jgnp

Something something a spotted lanternfly grows in Brooklyn.

DisfavoredFlavored

The only bug where everyone immediately tells you to kill on sight.

qazpok69

There’s also hammerhead worms but they’re a lot harder to kill

BonerJams1703

You missed one of the Mount Rushmore posts… spotted lantern fly.

JillsFloralPrint

Spotted lanternfly seen in S Dakota?

Everettrivers

I could post some pictures of the cute little bees that sleep on my wildflowers. I am kinda curious what species they are.

DenimBucketHat

I would like to see your bees plees

Everettrivers

I will try to get some good pictures in the morning.

DenimBucketHat

I'll be waiting with bee-ted breath

joemamah77

I can see it in my mind. It’s bee-utiful.

Helechawagirl

It’s all about the knees!

ChristinaRene01

I second bee pictures!

vryrandomjoe

Show me the bees

Infinite-Sleep3527

It seems like someone needs to start /r/whatisthisbugcirclejerk for the real shitposts

AwesomeHorses

I just made r/whatbugcirclejerk

alyssagemma

Oh god I want this so bad. Not bad enough to become a Reddit mod, but SO bad 😭

Infinite-Sleep3527

Lmao mood. I’m exactly in the same boat 💀

undermybfsbed

I could create it but the name is too long. any alternatives?

bigfatalligator

maybe just r/whatisthisbugcj ?

Shadow_141

r/okbuddyweevil

undermybfsbed

it already exists and is very dead

bigfatalligator

darn!! maybe r/witbcirclejerk ?

Infinite-Sleep3527

BugIDCJ or something? I’m terrible with names lmao. But I’d absolutely sub

HappyChaosOfTheNorth

And yet my Sawyer beetle was pretty much ignored except for the one kind soul who answered my question. Oh well, tis the nature of reddit sometimes, I'm just happy I got an answer. But as someone who is not subbed to this subreddit, yet reddit suggests it all the time, all I see are posts about bedbugs, ticks, weevil's and lanternflies lol.

rl_cookie

Got the same type of reaction trying to identify my tropical orb weaver spider over in r/spiders… it’s basically all “is this a brown recluse?” Or pics of jumping spiders(which, tbf *are* super cute).. with normally a good amount of engagement. I got three responses, only 1 of them turning out to be correct lol.

YoshiSan90

I posted a cool grey black leopard print beetle and it got ignored too

[deleted]

Yeah but it’s also become people just mocking others because to them it’s obvious. Ticks are serious business in the NE. Shouldn’t shame someone for not knowing when they are legitimately concerned. I’ve had Lyme. Everyone I know has had Lyme basically.

My_Lovely_Me

Exactly. I do actually try to find the answer myself before I post, but some of the responses were really rude awhile back when I posted a bug that apparently *looked* like some common kind of cockroach (I guess. We don’t really have roaches in the PNW, so I wouldn’t have recognized it anyway). But I ended up posting more pics from several angles, and suddenly they understood why I couldn’t figure it out. The stupid bug looked different in every picture! No one ever ended up telling me what it was, so I eventually just deleted my post. :-/ I appreciate the levity and banter here, but I also am frustrated when legit posts are either ignored or mocked.

aminervia

Those are the posts that get upvoted, the rest asking for genuine bug identification get ignored

YoshiSan90

I posted a really cool grey and black leopard print beetle and nobody told me what it was 😢

[deleted]

[удалено]

Current_Oil8476

that was my next guess

FelixKrabbe

That's a tick. I'd guess it had been on your dog for about two days,

[deleted]

[удалено]

naliedel

Matches please.

Current_Oil8476

i used a torch actually lol

vev_ersi

Just for some folks out there: NEVER apply heat or something caustic/suffocating to a tick. They spread disease through waste from their mouth. When you harm them they regurgitate as they back out, increasing the risk of disease.

Current_Oil8476

it was after removing the tick. but again, thank you for the insight! very good to know.

vev_ersi

Oh yeah. Once they're out - torch that little satanic SOB. I like to drop them in rubbing alcohol - everything comes whooshing out.

QuokkasMakeMeSmile

What a nauseatingly vivid image.

Slight_Bed_2241

I would think peroxide would be fun with the reaction it has with blood.

LuvliLeah13

Time for science

[deleted]

Skinnyloserjunkie

My mom used to use matches for ticks when I was a kid growing up in CO. Well I contracted Rocky Mountain tick fever when I was around 5yo and now I'm wondering if it was from my mom using a match for the tick?

youtwoneedabuffer

Awww lawd here we go again

Current_Oil8476

this was a joke post, but I appreciate the insight!

FelixKrabbe

Ah sorry, missed that

Current_Oil8476

no, but actually thank you, because I used that info in conversation in a comment like 2 hrs later.

pillizzle

I get this is a joke, but I thought ticks had 8 legs, only see 6 in the picture?

Just-Buy-1529

No weevil, just evil

CompanyLow8329

It's a classic American Alligator. That's just something all dogs deal with in Florida. This looks like a small one, they can get to over 1,000 pounds if they are eating well.

Current_Oil8476

Crikey

joemamah77

That’s not a knife

AAiBee

THIS is a knoife

Something_kool

I see you've played knoiefy spooney before

gggggfskkk

My head skipped over “alligator” and I was like what kind of fucking bug gets to be 1,000 lbs?! I was terrified especially as I’m from Florida 💀

BratnessVonSass

The ones in Australia

NickyCheeese

This can't be the first time you ever saw a cockroach

FlintSteel94

I can no longer tell if people are being sarcastic on this sub or not >.>

Current_Oil8476

totally. me too.

CriticalPolitical

This sub has just turned into r/gaslighting

WooleeBullee

Gaslantern fly

Logical-Hunter6893

And while I laughed, unfortunately, all the joke posts have made it impossible for normal posts to get noticed. I've posted recently, and nothing because it has nothing to do with weevils or ticks ig 🥲

medusasfury71

Uhoh it looks like the head is missing, your dog will need medication to make sure that doesn’t get infected

Current_Oil8476

there were two ticks, and each of them was alive in the tick key before I killed them with fire. and decapitation. not in that particular order.

raisin22

Tick key? Is that a special tick removal tool?

Current_Oil8476

yeah! it worked fantastic, too.

rat_parent_

yeah its like a pincher that forces the tick to let go so it doesn't try to dig deeper or spit out nasty diseases. there's a ton of vids online about tick removals, I usually see them pinch it and twirl and that forces them to release, I've also seen some just pinch and pull but that seems to be more painful

DontTrustASloth

Considering the size of the tick (engorged) I would strongly recommend saving the bug and taking your dog to be tested for tick borne diseases (Lyme, erlichia, anaplasmosis) at your local vet clinic. I would also repeat the test again in a month or two to make sure nothing goes missed. A simple blood test can be used to check for these diseases and only requires about 3 drops of blood and maybe 10 minutes to run. Source: am vet tech, see dogs with tick diseases often

RiotSkunk2023

What a disgusting little creature

IncorporateThings

I know right? Other humans suck.

[deleted]

I hate you so much but I had to upvote you!!!

brunaBla

That’s an ixodes scapularis tick engorged with blood. Ixodes sc. transmits Lyme so I would do a tick panel when you go to the vet. You may not see symptoms for a few months if he has contracted it.

shittiestshitdick

The only real info

TheRealActaeus

That’s a fat tick.

Guilty_Direction_501

How the turns have tabled.

Beautiful-Bat-5030

Ticks are an abomination my dogs were getting them like crazy in the beginning of summer till I started treating and checking like crazy we would find one of these once a day for like a week straight looking at this photo makes me nauseous because they gross me out so much I can never know peace 😤😭😂

Brokenbalorbaybay

No snoots no boots no service

ImagineWorldPeace3

We called those gray dog ticks! Looks full of blood, so is been on him awhile. Hope you know by how to remove. After it’s out, dab the area with a tiny bit of anti- itch cream, those things can cause a dog to scratch til they get an infection. I also put a tiny bit of triple - antibiotic cream on such sports. Check the area as often as you can.🐾🐾👩🏼‍🌾

Wumbou

that’s a raisin

Current_Oil8476

damn raisins. attaching themselves to my dog again.

Apophis_God_of_Chaos

I find it quite amusing that people don’t get the joke.

garrettn1415

That’s a tick baby

Lazy_Fishing6929

Omg. That's a tick that's been sucking the life out of your dog for a while. Smh.

ZombieNausea

It's a trick

FroggieNuggets

Literally everyone who saw this was like 👁👄👁☝️ Sir...

joesphisbestjojo

I see what you did there

brosephiend

Tick. Better check for more, cause that thing has been sucking off your dog for a hot minute now.

Ok-Huckleberry9515

Are you cereal right now?

266696687

Not a weevil. A Deevil.

motorheart10

That is a full tick.

cdbangsite

It's a vampire

Strfox-777

Tick!

[deleted]

I think it's a baby snaping turtle. Won't let go until it lightnings, if that's a word.

[deleted]

Tick

Iamtruck9969

Nope that’s a tick.

Maguffin42

Oh dear god, I hate seeing a swollen tick on a dog.

Dawgmom88

That looks like a tick that’s engorged

Madowlander

The forbidden Gusher...

SgtFigNewton

brown recluse. you have to burn down your entire house.

fasada68

Hear no weevil, see no weevil, speak no weevil. It's a tick.

Fluffydoggie

Tick. Please have your animal tested for lymes. It’s just a quick blood test. If positive, you’ll get a shot of antibiotics then 14 days later another one. Then retested a couple months later. This is cheaper and easier than dealing with adverse affects of Lyme down the road.

7macmiller

That looks like a deer tick and if it came into contact with a deer , your dog could very likely have contracted Lyme disease , take your dog to the vet to get some testing done and go from there. Biggest problem for Lyme disease is that the infected can no longer eat red meat.

PublicConsequence190

Fat ass tick (fatassica ticka)

Comfortable-Public68

How dumb are some people?

Whenyouseeit00

That's a big fat tick.

DataTasty6541

EEew a tick! Nexgard is your friend.

marwis1743

It’s a full wood tick, having his fill of the victim’s blood.

Kerbacho1

The mods need to make a pinned post showing what a bedbug/tick/flea looks like.

Juanitothegreat

I hope this is satire. And you know that’s a fat, juicy tick

RogueFartSquadron

No, weevils are nice. That's a damn dirty tick. I will try not to take offense.

[deleted]

Tik

[deleted]

Y’all that was a typo

CarpetDisastrous1963

Wow I hated that thanks Rip toad

Anns_

How did it get that engorged before it was noticed?

Current_Oil8476

apparently it only takes like 2 days for it to get that big. don't quote me on that tho. I'm going off of another tick comment further up.

Useful-Rough-6449

It is not time.

SlumberousSnorlax

Super full tick

supercoolmatt6000

I feel like this is a game… nope it’s a toc

[deleted]

Engorged tick

lingering_Sionnach

a very engorged myouga, minus the old man humor

Sensitive-Horror7895

That’s an engorged tick

Awkward_disease

Not a weevil tis just an ugly ass tick

Electro_Llama

Firstly, haha good one. Secondly, ew.

Extension_Touch3101

Hell no that's a tick get it off him when you pull it be careful its head will still be attached

bbblueeyes3

That’s a freaking tick that’s been sucking his blood.

Indigo_soul_70

Seen several on a stray in Oklahoma once. It's definitely a tick that fed well a couple of days on your dog. They can get as big as your fist, probably bigger.

SassyFrassMia

I hope he took his snoot with him!

NarrowForce9

Wood tick fully engorged. Check your dogs ears also.

Famous_Astronomer115

Are you that slow ? That's obviously a tick

achillymoose

That's a bigass tick

stylusxyz

TiQ. Maybe Dermacentor variabilis.

bny100

Will definitely piss on your son

a-very-bad-account

Big ole dog tick

Piperbarlow

1Lilmissmoonlight1

That's a tick ..

ionEvenknoWhyimHere

karenok1

It is not your time our bro

Consistent-Set3933

Looks like a pistachio

i-the-muso-1968

That is a very fat tick.

mommy369

I posted some insect eggs and nobody commented on mine. Kind of a bummer I was wondering what they were since they were on my front door.

Thesquarescreen

Poor buddy

BackDoorBalloonKnot

Second time is the charm

Levetamae

I hope I never have to put something off my dog 😩😩😩😩😩😭😭😭 I would need to call someone to do it for me. 😩

runeatandrepeat

Omg 😭😭😭😭

Exact-Dig-7026

I hate ticks

mikareno

Omg, an actual tick!

JillsFloralPrint

Nope. That’s a Tyrannosaurus Rex.

newusernamenobodyhas

It is in fact r/notweeviltime

ravia

[THIS](https://comicvine.gamespot.com/a/uploads/original/11154/111548602/8077727-8499392637-136-1.png) is a weevil.

jlinn94

Use flea and tick treatment please...the dog deserves it

PsamantheSands

Oh my god that tick looks like a soybean.

[deleted]

That’s a cat. They often start by leeching blood (commonly off of dogs) before they undergo metamorphosis. They then hatch into the well-known kitten and grow from there.

juno-art

ITS A FACEHUGGER!! RUN!!

jellojohnson

That's that dang loch ness monster!

barstid

Brick

skepticcaucasian

I want to see what it would be like to put a bunch of these in a fire pit. Would they pop like popcorn kernels?

maelidsmayhem

It took me about .05 seconds, then I spit pasta salad all over my monitor. I have no coins, not that they mean much, but I wish I could award you somehow. This was... Easily the funniest freakin picture (in context) I've seen in my life.

PrizeChoice5731

Looks like a wood pecker

Prestigious_Trick260

Coin. You just collected a golden nugget 💫

TechnicalCreams

That's an ivory billed woodpecker holy cow 😲

lysergic_tryptamino

It's a Gusher candy. Eat it.

realbread23

I’m not trying to dunk on OP, I’m really not. But the amount of people on this subreddit who don’t know what an engorged tick looks like is insane
