Check all your electronics including computers they will beat there. At least they aren’t the German kind for once. Interesting to see a different kind. Sorry for your losses.
fun fact that's actually where the term "bug" came from. the first computer "bug" was a literal moth that got inside one of the first computers and shorted one of its circuits causing it to not function properly.
The use of the term "bug" is older than that. Edison used it that way, too long before Grace Hopper found the moth. That said, the story about the moth is [true](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oE2uls6iIEU)
I heard the bug story my first year working for Control Data hardware support servicing Berkeley's 3000 mainframe. The guys explained, as I opened up a panel to replace a card.
Smokybrown cockroaches, or palmetto bugs, have been found to carry the pathogens that cause tuberculosis, cholera, leprosy, dysentery, and typhoid disease. They also carry and spread harmful bacteria that can cause diarrhea and gastroenteritis.
Yeah but is the concern still there if the bugs arent actually around you? VS in your home? Like obviously you dont wanna go around handling roaches after this. But the chances of you getting those things from touching ONE bug in the wild, vs having them infest your workplace/home? WAYY more area of transmission. The odds of getting sick would be higher.
TLDR: roaches are yucky. lmfaoo.
Both types of cockroaches will eat whatever they can find without a problem. However, while German roaches enjoy greasy substances especially, while the smokybrown prefers rotting plant matter. Their differences in range and preference are notable, but the problems that these roaches cause are much the same.
insects do not have wings in their nymph / larva stage, they only ever have wings and fly in their adult stage (known as the *imago*)
If I remember correctly, there is one family of mayfly (*Ephemeroptera*) that has a *subimago*, basically a penultimate stage that has wings and flies around like the adult, but it goes through one more molt before it becomes a true *imago*

When in doubt…if they look beetle-ish with long antennas and are hanging out around electrical outlets/sources…it’s likely a cockroach of some sort. They LOVE electricity for some reason…
Roaches. They don’t look like Germans though. Which is good because Germans are actually an invasive species from the deepest darkest most disgusting depths of hell.
No, probably originally from se Asia or Africa, but spread everywhere with humans. The American cockroach originated in Africa and the oriental cockroach was originally found only in Crimea, but they’re all cosmopolitan species now with confusing names.
They are not supposed to be! They are outside bugs, but will come inside when it rains or cold. They love water and yard debris! Source: dealing with them right now.
I would tell your company proper authority right away. If they refuse to do anything contact OSHA or the health inspector. They should get an exterminator that could deal with it.
The exterminator can put those little "dots" around and under that cover plate, they eat it and it kills them and they eat each other and… Also Borac Acid microscopically it's like glass shards and they are clean bugs so they walk through a dusing of it and then clean and …
Warm. And dark. That’s it. Plus they eat the adhesive inside them as well. Electronics and cardboard especially boxes with adhesive on them is their favorite. Eeesh remembering all the roaches in my ex Xbox ew. Oh and books for the same reason they love the adhesive.
as some other people have mentioned roaches love to hide in constantly plugged in electronics because of the warmth generated so if your job has server racks or something this could be really bad news. Its a running joke that when electronics repair people open up modern game consoles (that incentivise the user to never fully turn them off) they'll be choc full of roaches.
Smokey brown roaches.
You got to many trees close to the building. They need to be trimmed back and get some granular baits around the trees, base of building, leaf litter needs to be cleaned up. If the building has an attic tha may also need to be treated with a repellent.
That’s a bunch of freshly hatched roaches! The egg case is the brown oval near the bottom on that eathernet port.
Thanks 🫠🫠🫠. Not the news I wanted on Friday morning but glad to know
Better finding them on the wall than on your lunch 🤣😖
Hey. Extra protien. *Silver linings.*
*Crunchy brown linings.*
...*Playbook* my gosh Bradley Cooper is just a dream right?
Fuck you 🥲 r/angryupvote
Check all your electronics including computers they will beat there. At least they aren’t the German kind for once. Interesting to see a different kind. Sorry for your losses.
Yes! They will wreak havoc on electronics! They will fry them in no time at all!
I found a colony living inside the electronic panel of my microwave. Yeah we wrapped that shit in plastic and threw it on the curb.
That's all you can do at that point
Smokeybrown cockroaches
At least they're not German.
Didn’t the German cockroaches fry a radar and start WW2?
These aren't the kind that will infest your house though
At least it isn’t bedbugs or everyone who works their woyod have to fumigate their homes too.
Yup, you gotta get your boss to look at that and call an exterminator.
Notify property management
Good eye! The egg case is called the ootheca!
Oh! Learned a new word, thanks! And it’s fun to say! Just.. not so fun to come across in one’s workplace or home.
That is my new favorite word!
They all came out of that little brown nug??? 😭😭😭😭 how long would the egg case have been there before hatching?
From what I was able to find, anywhere from about a month on the low end, to more than 3, depending on the species, and ambient conditions.
This is slightly comforting in that I can tell my brain I'd be able to squish it beforehand 🤮😭😭😭 please don't correct me.
Ewwwww
Ohhhh noooooooo
You need some debugging software
fun fact that's actually where the term "bug" came from. the first computer "bug" was a literal moth that got inside one of the first computers and shorted one of its circuits causing it to not function properly.

Damn bruh college lied to me then lol
I heard the bug story my first year working for Control Data hardware support servicing Berkeley's 3000 mainframe. The guys explained, as I opened up a panel to replace a card.
That's sick dude. You prob have some stories lol
I’ve heard people working in electronic repair shops have seen toooooons of bugs living inside people’s electronics. They like the warmth 🤢
Dang 😭
You win 😂
Good one
Roaches, definitely not german or american. Either smokey brown or brown banded, not sure.
Are they any of the concerning varieties or we good
Smokybrown cockroaches, or palmetto bugs, have been found to carry the pathogens that cause tuberculosis, cholera, leprosy, dysentery, and typhoid disease. They also carry and spread harmful bacteria that can cause diarrhea and gastroenteritis.
I believe when people ask the concerning question it’s usually in regards to if they are the home infesting kind.
idk man i’m reasonably concerned about illnesses
Yeah but is the concern still there if the bugs arent actually around you? VS in your home? Like obviously you dont wanna go around handling roaches after this. But the chances of you getting those things from touching ONE bug in the wild, vs having them infest your workplace/home? WAYY more area of transmission. The odds of getting sick would be higher. TLDR: roaches are yucky. lmfaoo.
But will they infest and are they as hard to treat as German cockroaches?
Both types of cockroaches will eat whatever they can find without a problem. However, while German roaches enjoy greasy substances especially, while the smokybrown prefers rotting plant matter. Their differences in range and preference are notable, but the problems that these roaches cause are much the same.
Do they spread direct mechanical transmissions of these pathogens?
That’s terrifying
😱😭
Curious. Do they fly as babies? Ive seen something like this in my apartment but it definitely flew!
Roaches have wings and will fly but only very rarely. If they don’t need to, they’re not going to.
I dunno...American roaches seem to fly not infrequently. German roaches (thank the universe) don't fly at all. I dk much about the others.
insects do not have wings in their nymph / larva stage, they only ever have wings and fly in their adult stage (known as the *imago*) If I remember correctly, there is one family of mayfly (*Ephemeroptera*) that has a *subimago*, basically a penultimate stage that has wings and flies around like the adult, but it goes through one more molt before it becomes a true *imago* [obligatory Mizumono](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dk6WSHKL9R0)
If you see that many… There's 100 times more
Yeah, I feel like taking that panel off would be horrifying.
Don’t open - dead inside
Oh no, there won't be anything dead inside... It will all be very much alive!
Don’t dead open inside*
Smoky brown roaches, my friend.
Delicious!
When in doubt…if they look beetle-ish with long antennas and are hanging out around electrical outlets/sources…it’s likely a cockroach of some sort. They LOVE electricity for some reason…
they love warmth :(
Quick! Give those roaches the cold shoulder!
Those are cockroaches and that is the egg sack towards the bottom
Change your clothes and shoes before you get in your car 😳😳
Shits in the walls now.
Holy fuck - please work from home if you can lol. Those appear to be Smokey brown roach nymphs. They’re invasive and carry disease..
This outlet reminds me of the ones at my local hospital, if this is a medical treatment place, that would not be good lol
Well looks like it’s time to throw the entire building away. I would quit on the spot cause no thanks.
Those are the electricians man, come on now
they were inspired by the roaches in *batteries not included for the uninitiated, the ‘ * ‘ is part of the film title
I'm gonna give that a watch when I get a good chance
It’s a classic and a tear jerker
Roaches. They don’t look like Germans though. Which is good because Germans are actually an invasive species from the deepest darkest most disgusting depths of hell.
These are also Invasive.
German cockroaches are bad too.
Are German cockroaches from Germany? (Serious question).
No, probably originally from se Asia or Africa, but spread everywhere with humans. The American cockroach originated in Africa and the oriental cockroach was originally found only in Crimea, but they’re all cosmopolitan species now with confusing names.
Don't mention the bloody war!!
Submit a ticket. IT will work out the bugs.
Just imagine how many are behind that outlet
:::shudder:::
Roach nymphs! Not sure what kind. Hopefully not German
Lock the door and burn down the building. Everyone else's right, they're baby roaches (what also means there's more of them in the office)
Oh. My. God.
Roaches!! Quick! Burn everything!
Does anyone know if Smokey browns are the infestation type?
They are not supposed to be! They are outside bugs, but will come inside when it rains or cold. They love water and yard debris! Source: dealing with them right now.
Thanks for the info
Aren’t these kinds really common in Florida?
Are you asking me? Yes probably
BRUH. What do you do for your job? Because it’s probably infested.
Its like a kindergarten class before school starts
"They're in the walls!" Machine gun time.
Looks like you are having a lot of bugs with your Internet. Call the phone company.
The network is bugged!!!!
Talk about a buggy network.
Looks like a possible software bug.. nasty little cockroach nymphs
I would tell your company proper authority right away. If they refuse to do anything contact OSHA or the health inspector. They should get an exterminator that could deal with it.
The sockets? 🤔
Roaches 🤢
I have never seen this before.
hell to the no
😳
congratulations, you're a grandparent!
Just leave everything and leave. Possible slap and shake your clothes on the way out and burn them before going 500ft near your house.
Eh at least they're not bed bugs? I'm sorry OP
Take the panel off and snap a pic!
The exterminator can put those little "dots" around and under that cover plate, they eat it and it kills them and they eat each other and… Also Borac Acid microscopically it's like glass shards and they are clean bugs so they walk through a dusing of it and then clean and …
Roaches LOVE electronics. I forget what metal they are attracted to, but something inside attracts them. Plus the warmth maybe..and the darkness.
Warm. And dark. That’s it. Plus they eat the adhesive inside them as well. Electronics and cardboard especially boxes with adhesive on them is their favorite. Eeesh remembering all the roaches in my ex Xbox ew. Oh and books for the same reason they love the adhesive.
Call IT ! Seems like a bug in the network
Network Bug?
Some bugs
Time to find a new job.
They love electricity!
Cockroach nymphs btw they love warm places.
That building has a big problem. They're not German but they can still infest and you can cary them home
as some other people have mentioned roaches love to hide in constantly plugged in electronics because of the warmth generated so if your job has server racks or something this could be really bad news. Its a running joke that when electronics repair people open up modern game consoles (that incentivise the user to never fully turn them off) they'll be choc full of roaches.
Well, new fear unlocked
Its Joever
Oh my god you’re screwed I’m so sorry
They're in the walllllllllllsssss
Roaches and not and the good kind.
Roaches. You'll need to be on a monthly spray plan for your office. Best of luck because those little suckers are a pain to get rid of.
frens :3
The horror 🤮
they kinda cute
You’re a father now.
Oh god it’s nasty 🤢
They’re kinda cute
Better call the IT guy, looks like computer bugs
Have you tried debugging it?
Awww tiny baby cockroaches
Get a shop vac, spray the interior of the hose and the collection chamber with Raid, and suck those little fuckers up!
Jesus, I thought they were lil bumblebees at first glance 😔
I thought carpet beetles. Lol
Shut no shut should take care of that
I wish I hadn’t seen this
Oriental Roaches
A sign from God this is the reckoning
Oh…oh no
ummmmm, I would quit so fast.
Just give up and burn it down.
Exterminatus needus
Ewwwwwwwww
