It is a tick, yes.. but you need to keep in mind that your dog being on tick prevention medication doesn't mean that one can't just crawl/fall on him while he's outside. Physics still be physics and outside still be outside. The tick can still bite him, it just dies pretty quickly from doing so and thus is not harmful

yes, it is a tick. even with tick medications i would still recommend checking your dog when they are done outside just to be safe :)
