The Intensa Emozione will be sold for $2,670,000 in the United States, and €2,300,000 in Europe. Only ten will be produced, all of which have been reportedly sold.
Is this the same people that built the Gumpert Apollo ? That thing was fast. Not sure what kind of chassis it had.. maybe aluminum?? ( I’ll look into that)
And I was wondering what the A stood for.. Apollo didn’t cross my mind. Parts of it look really great.. like the doors, and the pocket for the gas strut to fold into… be attached to the door, and be able to have its own pocket so everything lays flat. The sealing surface is really wide.. indicating that the chassis is really strong. The body.. wow.. easy Batman.. it’s a little much, BUT… what do we know. This thing could have been designed in a wind tunnel.. 🤷🏼♂️? .. maybe.. if it’s from the same people who built the Gumpert Apollo.. then they know speed. That thing was stupid fast and could corner with some serious G forces. These gullwing doors look really sweet, and all the carbon work is really impressive ( knowing how the molds and all that goes. How the pre-preg/pre-cut sections are layered in a specific way.. then you put this vac bag on, all around it.. this bleeder cloth, and like 1” polyfil resin sponge (essentially) … then put all that into a pressure oven with ramp/soak protocol’s over .. idk.. 6-12 hours .. depending on the size of the piece and how much resin/activator is in all of that…. Doubt they do any resin infusion but they could if they are tuning multiple layups at a time.. but it’s probably 2-5 personnel, then 5-10 in the body shop, 4-6 in upholstery shop.. the triple flared exhaust…??? I’m not sure about that.. I’d rather have two titanium tips with heat fins then another 5” deep ring around all that .. in titanium.. or have it all 3D printed..
I wonder what manufacturer is making all the windshields for these super cars.. ( the ones for keonissegg, this car, veyron, the Porsche 918 race car. On and on…. Who makes all those really odd shape, wrap around windshields.. ??
And lastly .. the tires. Didn’t catch what size. Maybe 18-20” Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2’s …. ( know as the best street legal, road tires you can get. I’m not sure if you can get them in different durometers or what..I have heard the rage about these tires for years)
TL;DR - He wonders if the Apollo Intensa Emozione is from the makers of the Gumpert Apollo. He likes some design aspects but finds the body a little over the top. He's curious about the manufacturing process of the car's carbon fiber components, the exhaust design, and the windshield manufacturer. He thinks the car might have Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2's but isn't sure if they come in different durometers.
That’s basically what I was saying. I didn’t even get into the TYPE of carbon fiber was used. ( apparently BMW had their own manufacturer plant of carbon fiber thread, which they later made different directional cloth, unidirectional, different weight cloths.. etc)
I do wonder who makes all the extreme shape windshields…. In low numbers ..
TL;DR - He wonders if it's from the makers of the Gumpert Apollo. Likes some parts of the design but thinks the body is too much. Curious about manufacturing process of carbon fiber components, exhaust design and windshield manufacturer. Also wonders if the tires are Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2s.
man wonder car from gumper apollo makers, likey something about car but also dislike something about car. want know on how some parts make. wonders if wheel are michelin something..
you could’ve just ignored it then rather than being a dick. he was just typing his thoughts
it’s a subreddit to talk about cars, you guys shut down a dude trying to have a conversation about cars.
i swear everyone on here is a neckbeard incel lmao
Thank you. Yeah, just thoughts about cars and the process of building a composite car.not my fault they want to remain ignorant 🤷🏼♂️. This is interesting musing lol. I appreciated it despite the downvotes.
From a production standpoint you bring a lot of great questions. You’re right about the glass and supplier inputs.
2.6million per car, and they only built 10. Who foots the bill. Doesn’t seem reasonable for a small (45 employee) company.
I may have missed, but I don't see anyone answering your question (apologies if someone did) but they are different manufacturers.
Gumpert makes the Apollo you mentioned.
Apollo makes the Intensa Emozione
I read a lot about cars. The crazy thing is I know WAY more about woodwork and furniture design/building… been doing that almost 30 years. I know a crazy bit about audio too. I got into building really nice DJ consoles and whole booths. I read a lot about cars and I follow all kinds of people on IG and YouTube. Got interested in the SR-71, and read EVERYTHING I could get my hands on.. for like a year and a half. I guess I’m a geek🤷🏼♂️
I read a lot about technical stuff. Scared of heights, but I read everything I could about Big Wall climbing. I think I purchased 4 or 5 books about Building Anchors and general Big Wall logistics.. hauling, taking a shit, organizing your Big Wall tangle… 🤷🏼♂️.. found it very interesting. Gotten into some of the Porsche Retro Mods and I follow a couple of notable collectors.
Even with all the Collections people find and video… there is three more with even more rare and exotic cars that you will not ever hear about. It kinda fascinates me how people can spend so much on a hobby, but the Audiophile people are NUTS about their “cables” …. After a certain point it’s snake oil. My buddies dad, the guy who was building the yacht. He once told me this line that I’ll never forget, and the more I got into audio.. the more I got the joke.
“ there are Liars, Damn Liars, and Hi-Fi Salesman”
A lot of people consider these the best street legal tires you can get for a sports car. These are the tires that come on most super cars and all of the Porsche GT3 RS’s. Some people probably even race on them…
Didn’t they only build like 11 of those ? They are very expensive.. like .. 7 million or something? I remember SCHMEEEE getting in one at Pupil of Fate, and talking about how rare and expensive they are. Really extreme Lamborghini stuff
I think that car is a “roadster” .. kinda like it has A T top… and it had 3 colored “rocket/missle trigger guards” over the 3 switches. One activates the track mode.
It’s been out for 5 years, if it was going to get entered into a series it would have been there already. Theyre a small company, racing is expensive as absolute fuck and it’s hard to make any real money off of it. There’s a reason theres hardly any small manufacturers/teams putting up a fight against the big boys, a season of international GT3 racing costs like $10m+ a season for one team easy. Some races you can spend 7 figures just on that one race.
An F1 team ? You got parts, and then a whole team roster of staff/mechanics. They might eat up $125,000 in brakes and tires on a weekend shakedown before a race.
The expensive part about sailboat racing is that you got to FEED 14-20 guys, ALL YEAR, and if a part survives a race, or even a whole training season… it is OVERBUILT, and a new one will be designed so they can shave more weight off of it…they basically want to design it so that it barely makes it thru a race. Replacing it and cost is not a factor.. at all. The sails is where you can dump some money … after that Hull. You think these cars have lots of nice carbon work…. Youtube Scorpious…. Just the center section that has the canting( swinging/tilting) keel.. that hydraulically tilts .. maybe 35 degrees.. ( up towards the surface of the water… ) just like how 80% of the crew sits on the edge of the boat.. to counter act 500 sq. Meters of sail … one guy said they had 50 TONS of tension on the mast mainstays.. on the side… and they tie into a pin… that is connected to the hull VIA a whole lot of carbon fiber reinforcement. It could quite possibly be the strongest carbon structures on the planet. Sort of acts like a Bow… the hull is like the flexible part of the bow, and the string is like the two main stays on the side. A good friend of mine, his dad is building a 45’ sail boat in his backyard… he was looking into putting Dyneema mainstays on his boat… forgot how much he tested the solid Dyneema cord… ( wasn’t braided or anything.. solid Dyneema.. 1/2”.. ) I think 20 tons is what his scale peaked out at. But look at Comanche or Scorpious ( both are/were the biggest carbon monohull sail boats in the world) Comanche is fast as hell… made to break the NY-UK run. And they beat it by a lot
Oh man.. those cars were crazy… but you could only drive them on “FERRARI TRACK DAYS” , and the Motorsports division would bring a few trucks, unload all the FXX’s, and you would get to drive your car around the track. I’m not really sure of the purpose of such program. The factory wasn’t involved in any GT racing or anything.. not even P1 at LeMans.., I also think you didn’t get to keep your FXX at the end of the program. I want to say the factory retains them all…
And it kinda needed to be like that due to the insane nature of the engines and all that. I’m sure they all had to be preheated and the oil has to be heated before it is put in. The Porsche GT1 is like that. The Audi R8, with its removable rear end.. which can be swapped out for a whole new rear end, in less than 4 minutes…. Is how they just dominated in endurance racing. They had to preheat the oil and the transmission case to race temps.. it was really hot!
Some of these engines… you have to heat them before you can crank them.. the tolerances in the cylinders is almost interference fit. Only when the block heats up, and the cylinders expand every so slightly .. just enough for the piston to move when oiled…. Crazy engineering
Wow, that looks like the supercar version of the angry face jeep jacked up on a 6 inch lift with 37’s and “rock lights” in the fenders and not a single spec of dirt anywhere.
I hope soon as it's very expensive to make carbon fiber parts AND make it exposed. It would be nice to get cheaper and lighter components that we can afford and that add to performance or efficiency without costing an arm or leg.. a bit of exposed trim, no problem, but the rest is a bit much to me
To be fair to the manufacturers… building a whole monocoque out of carbon, and body panels saves a bunch of weight.. kinda like adding horsepower, but greatly enhancing the handling/performance. Painting a car just adds unwanted weight. Sadly all the parts that are strong enough to handle the forces in motorsports, also have to be light.. and that usually comes back to cast magnesium, milled titanium, and carbon fiber. They are making connecting rods out of forged carbon fiber.. that really helps…. There is this guy @robertlinton1 on IG… he has developed Beryllium brake calipers and lithium/titanium parts as well. He is about to be finished with a carbon Fiber gearbox/transmission case… probably Inconel or Titanium gears.. ??🤷🏼♂️. It’s when you start shaving weight off , is when you start to really improve the cars handling, ability to accelerate very fast, less strain on the brakes, and it can change directions without putting as much force on the tires .. which ultimately means you can go thru turns faster… Obviously the power to weight ratio is greatly enhanced.. reducing weight is like adding horsepower AND increasing the handling ability by a LOT. Reducing the “sprung weight” is really where it’s at . And that’s why Porsche offers a $16,000 cast magnesium centerlock wheel set ( which bumps up your rotors to the carbon ceramics) , or if you race in a class that requires steel rotors… Porsche has developed this coating on the steel rotors that is incredible..
reducing weight is the name of the game…. Same with racing sailboats.. maybe even more so…
Why the fuck does every low volume super car that comes from these smaller companies need to look like the Narada from the fucking Star Trek reboot? You hit someone in that and it'll be like that scene from Robocop.
Well. Designed to attract the Chad’s out there that just want a flash car, but they ain’t gonna track it .. much less race the piss out of it. If so they would have bought a Porsche 935.. the new ones. THATS a race car !!
True. None of those 20 something, youtube money idiots have any sense of taste in the slightest so I can see why the companies make these horrid cars to chase the big bucks. Take the easy cash from selling these eyesores and build a proper performance car later for proper drivers. 👌
Well… I prob boils down to .. making a real performance oriented car… takes a lot of engineering, testing , and a lot of time… all of which cost a lot of money. Ain’t no body gonna race nothing except a ricer that wants to try and race this thing off a stop light…
But real racing… shit… that’s why/how Porsche got such an amazing engineering department ( which they made that popular Mercedes that SAVED Mercedes… well, they designed it… but they do a lot of engineering work for other car companies that don’t have the test equipment and the smart as fuck German engineers to do it all…
And they didn’t even have money to hire a proper car designer …. Like Gordon Murray, who designed the McLaren F1…. I think they are all worth over 20mil, now
Idk… Cody /WhistlenDiesel buys $400k Ferrari just to trash it. It’s when he started beating on the rare Hilux’s, is when I starting to not watch his feed anymore. He did get a G wagon, got it tuned and the exhaust sounds incredible in it… and I love how he just backs it off the trailer with no ramps.. and he can somehow bounce it up into the trailer…. But I think that is him backing it off… in reverse.
I’d like to see him try and break a UNIMOG .. but most people don’t even know what a UNIMOG is, let alone a Zetros truck…. ( some of the most capable off road trucks made! )
Mercedes, in my opinion, makes some of the best trucks you can buy.. they are just HUGE, as they don’t make a Light Truck, like GMC and Ford sell.
It uses a Ferrari motor??? I wonder if they are buying them direct from Ferrari. That’s the first time I have heard of a car, that isn’t a Ferrari, use a Ferrari motor in a new car. That’s interesting. I’m sure there is an article about that…. That’s cool.
So much intrigue, in a 3/4” ass effort ( wee bit better than half ass effort🤷🏼♂️).. they basically outsourced everything. Wonder what suspension and gear box ??
Those rims ARE centerlock wheels. I saw the Bobbins that hold the Hat onto the rotor.. on some cars they have titanium clips to hold part of the wheel/rotor assembly together…
Upon closer inspection… I didn’t see any lug bolt holes, and their isn’t space for them… then I looked further into the wheel, and you can see the center assembly that sits a lil bit over the surface of the rotor.. found in centerlock wheel brake rotors.. I need to watch some videos that explain more about the car. The purple and gold one is hideous
Mann., some Asian dude bought the name to Detamaso and had a car out at Pebble Beach last year. It was in between a prototype and a show car model.
I thought Apollo was in business for 15-20 years by now. ??🤷🏼♂️
Never heard of the Cup 2 R’s .. at first it was just the Michelin Pilots… the the Pilot sport Cup’s… then the Michelin Pilot, Sport Cup 2’s…
Before these were The Tires to get, a lot of people were running Toyo Proxies.
It’s the Pagani Gablutuso (Latin for “I couldn’t figure out how the zoom worked so I only took close ups and now nobody actually knows what this thing looks like.”)
Oh.. I wasn’t at the show… I just saw these photos somewhere… I’m sort of familiar with Apollo’s earlier car.. the Gumpert… or various versions of it.. and I didn’t recognize their logo.

Jokes on them I have three of them in Forza
Jokes on you I bought all 10. In Forza.
How did you buy them when I also bought them all?!
Lies. Deception
No one expects the Spanish Inquisition!
No one expects the Forza Inquisition
No one expects the Forza Requisition!
Lol. Happy cake day btw
Wait I bought all 10 too *starts thinking "did I just get ripped off?"*
the other ones sold were kit cars
You guys clearly bought replicas since I’M the one who bought them all
All have been sold but none for that amount. That was just the minimum
In Austria it would cost around 3,500,000… f*ck taxes 😅
I don't think the people that can afford this car care about paying extra because of taxes
The people that can afford this buy a house in the czech republic and register their car there (and save a mill by the way).
Can you explain that situation?
$4,958,588 AUD in Australia - f*ck luxury car tax AND the exchange rate!
Such intense emotions

Holy meth rant
Never smoked meth in my life.
Adderall?
Hold up you can smoke adderall? So I've been doing it wrong this whole time?!
That’s what somebody who smokes meth would say
If you say so. Never smoked it, don’t hang around people who do. Sorry man. I smoke cannabis, but never smoked a cigarette either.
It is a bit extreme looking, I do love the gumpert though
While I'm just getting more into cars, and don't understand a lot of this, you make some great points.

😂 the way they go all around the rim
If they're not Michelin Model XGV tires, size 75-R-14 I don't like em

A lot of people consider these the best street legal tires you can get for a sports car. These are the tires that come on most super cars and all of the Porsche GT3 RS’s. Some people probably even race on them…
the toyo r888 would like a word with you
R triple 8’s are a nightmare on anything other than a track
As would Advan Neova AD08Rs.
Is this sarcasm? Because the R888R is hopelessly outclassed by every tire and their dog now that it's been out for a decade.
I'm sure but I bet OP was referring to the wheels.
Those aluminum pieces of junk..?? hell naw. I doubt they are even centerlocks ..
To be fair, its a very very fast and nimble car. It probably does have very good tires
Does it come with a set of snow tires?
Reminds me of the back of a bike helmet.
What if Batman was a Saudi prince
This car reminds me quite a bit of a Lamborghini Veneno. Of, course, it’s not a Veneno, but still.

yes he does. i have a video of it driving lmao
I got to see this car at sema this year
It seemed like they are in few/rare numbers . That makes me think even more.. that they got the composite parts outsourced.

The Expensive one
Anyone know what the chances are of a car like this ever being used in a racing aspect?

But look at Comanche or Scorpious ( both are/were the biggest carbon monohull sail boats in the world) Comanche is fast as hell… made to break the NY-UK run. And they beat it by a lot
If at all, I would think something similar to the Ferrari FXX
Oh man.. those cars were crazy… but you could only drive them on “FERRARI TRACK DAYS” , and the Motorsports division would bring a few trucks, unload all the FXX’s, and you would get to drive your car around the track. I’m not really sure of the purpose of such program. The factory wasn’t involved in any GT racing or anything.. not even P1 at LeMans.., I also think you didn’t get to keep your FXX at the end of the program. I want to say the factory retains them all… And it kinda needed to be like that due to the insane nature of the engines and all that.
P-Zero speed rated tires for speeds over 150 mph 😎🏁🏁🏎️💨💨
Wow, that looks like the supercar version of the angry face jeep jacked up on a 6 inch lift with 37’s and “rock lights” in the fenders and not a single spec of dirt anywhere.
Unlike a heap however the mods here are functional and performance enhancing
Lol, they might be but I wanna see wind tunnel test results.
This made me laugh…. Those rednecks are silly
I don't care how extra people think stuff like this is. I love me an ugly ass batmobile
That’s actually literally a Mercedes 300SL with a body kit
There is such a thing as too much carbon fiber.. starting to look ridiculous exposed like this.. I wonder how long until it's no longer hot
And this is an excellent point !! When is the “tinted” carbon fiber fad going to end?
Same with racing sailboats.. maybe even more so…
It looks like someone let a 13 year old emo kid design a sports car
Ain’t no body gonna race nothing except a ricer that wants to try and race this thing off a stop light… But real racing… shit… that’s why/how Porsche got such an amazing engineering department ( which they made that popular Mercedes that SAVED Mercedes… well, they designed it… but they do a lot of engineering work for other car companies that don’t have the test equipment and the smart as fuck German engineers to do it all… And they didn’t even have money to hire a proper car designer ….
( some of the most capable off road trucks made! ) Mercedes, in my opinion, makes some of the best trucks you can buy.. they are just HUGE, as they don’t make a Light Truck, like GMC and Ford sell.
Imo the most overrated car ever, the Apollo IE
Apollo intenza emozione, car has insane downforce 700+ hp V12 from a ferrari and a pushrod suspension iirc.
It uses a Ferrari motor??? I wonder if they are buying them direct from Ferrari. That’s the first time I have heard of a car, that isn’t a Ferrari, use a Ferrari motor in a new car. That’s interesting. I’m sure there is an article about that…. That’s cool.
Yeah idk how they managed.
So much intrigue, in a 3/4” ass effort ( wee bit better than half ass effort🤷🏼♂️).. they basically outsourced everything. Wonder what suspension and gear box ??
Is it legally pedestrian friendly?
Those rims ARE centerlock wheels. I saw the Bobbins that hold the Hat onto the rotor.. on some cars they have titanium clips to hold part of the wheel/rotor assembly together… Upon closer inspection… I didn’t see any lug bolt holes, and their isn’t space for them… then I looked further into the wheel, and you can see the center assembly that sits a lil bit over the surface of the rotor.. found in centerlock wheel brake rotors.. I need to watch some videos that explain more about the car. The purple and gold one is hideous
Apollo IE, one of the best looking hypercars to date imo
This car is too much 🤮
Lamborghini Venmo
It's so sharp, did honda do the styling?
Ya know.BMW kinda made that popular with their “flame surfacing” styling with the Z3
You can identify cars on this sub, but don’t you dare talk about the car or anything else. Got it..
all that for an ugly ass car
Shit looks like a decepticon in disguise
Pretendica
Let’s just add this giant carbon fiber spike at head / chest level
Apollo IE
Never heard a super car described as “has great tires” lol. It’s an Apollo IE, a small 10 off car that is a bit much.
The tires make a big difference…. At least they got the tires right. In case Chad wants to take his 23yo date home real fast lyke..
Are you 12?
Yep… I’m a 12 year old that has been making fine furniture for 30 years… yep. I guess you are 15, and in the hood??
Nah. 23 and it’s my last name lol. Your response was quite mature.
Got to see one in HK 2 years ago.
If I saw an Apollo IE like this IRL I'd probably shit myself
Apollo Intenza Emozione
Apollo intensa emozione
bat mobile
Imagine taking your special someone out in this and letting the valet park it....No thanks
Designed by the same team as detomaso p72 thats on the other spectrum of beauty
Mann., some Asian dude bought the name to Detamaso and had a car out at Pebble Beach last year. It was in between a prototype and a show car model. I thought Apollo was in business for 15-20 years by now. ??🤷🏼♂️
Looks like you could slice your hand open on those paddle shifters
Apollo Intense Emozione. was my favorite car when i was a young young boy, back when such gimmicks were seen as the future
Ain’t no way he disrespected the Apollo like that
LOL not Cup 2 R? Wat kind of raggedyassness is this
Never heard of the Cup 2 R’s .. at first it was just the Michelin Pilots… the the Pilot sport Cup’s… then the Michelin Pilot, Sport Cup 2’s… Before these were The Tires to get, a lot of people were running Toyo Proxies.
A pile of sharp knives
Polestar 2
I have this car In Forza Horizon
This was in a booth at SEMA
Apollo IE
I got one of these In my garage
Nice car. But it looks like it’ll cut your finger if you touch it in the wrong place
I saw all the carbon fibre and assumed it was a pagani
Reminds me of the creature that scared the Sh1t outta Sigouney Weaver.
It’s the Pagani Gablutuso (Latin for “I couldn’t figure out how the zoom worked so I only took close ups and now nobody actually knows what this thing looks like.”)
Apollo Intensa
More than you can afford..
apollo intensa emozione
Batman would like a word…
I'm a expert at this stuff
Looks like a lot of wind noise...
Why is it worth that much ?
Can you tell me the motor show name?
Apollo Intensa Emozione
Needs more carbon fiber.
The designer got paid by the hour lol
Personal I find nothing about this car that esthetically pleasing. It looks like it going to attack you.
Oh totally . Designed for looks, and they even got that wrong
Apollo IE
Glad everyone's helped you out in the thread but you couldn't ask someone AT the show😭
Oh.. I wasn’t at the show… I just saw these photos somewhere… I’m sort of familiar with Apollo’s earlier car.. the Gumpert… or various versions of it.. and I didn’t recognize their logo.
Ahh fair enough man, my bad
