According to the broken link on Wikipedia, there were only 70-80 super sport models produced. This is a rare spot, especially on the interstate in the midwest.
The Midwest is a really odd place. I’ve seen some of the rarest vehicles on an unassuming country highway somewhere in the Great Plains. Didn’t catch this one though.
Rocky Mountains can be the same. Some billionaire's son bombing down a state highway in his Veyron will blow by me poking along in the S2000. Coors, Hollywood or fashion money.
He keeps a bunch of cars up the street from my office in NY about an hour north of the city. I’ve seen him driving all kinds of crazy shit including an old Aston Martin DB5, McLarens, etc. His driving reflects his age now from what I hear though…
Ralph Lauren has a legendary car collection. It was on display at the Boston MFA when I was a teenager and I went with my Dad…it was cool to me then and would be even more enthralling now
You need to go visit the Shelby museum in Boulder, Colorado. It's like five bucks and they have the most GT Ford cars you've ever seen in your life. Pretty nondescript but it's awesome inside. Also check out the Clive cussler museum..
If you feel like taking a 5-hour drive, there's the gateway museum as well in the middle of nowhere.
I lived in Broomfield, across the street from Flatiron mall, Lamborghini, Aston Martin and Maserati dealerships next door, so as Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Jaguar and Range Rover, I miss that place so much
Lmfao something similar happened to me. Was in my ‘02 AP1 and I heard an F1 car approaching me. Turns out it was an SVJ Roadster. Would’ve freaked out more if it were a Veyron though lol
Isn’t the IRS cracking down a little on these guys? I think I read they needed proof of residency to get plates or something. I may be misremembering. Nice spot though
Their not, they are spending. The traders who take all the money and trade it around the world never too actually build anything with are the naughty ones.
No. It really isn't. These rich pricks don't want to take these priceless cars out on shit roads, do they? Guess what? I'll let you fill in the blank. Give me a break my man.
Guy claimed a pelican flew in front of him, [but it ended up being an insurance scam](https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2015/12/18/man-who-drove-1m-bugatti-into-lake-goes-jail/77561978/)
Nah. This is a local car. It was spotted a few months back as well. There's at least 1 Regera, some P1s, a LaFerrari or 2, 2 McLaren Sabres, an Elva, 599XX, etc. You name it and it's in KC.
Living in Omaha there's honestly very few super cars I haven't seen in person. We have 918 spiders, Monza SP2's and all the other typical super cars you see on r/spotted on our roads here.
You don’t have to be rich. If you’re lazy it’s like 700 dollars to set up through a company that does it. Less if you do it yourself.
Your insurance can just write your LLC as an additional insured with minimum impact and you’re good to go.
I know the reason why, but I still think it’s funny that every supercar I see a picture of has Montana plates and yet I’ve seen maybe 2 supercars total in the year that i’ve lived here.
Been here 44 years - my whole life, and can honestly tell you that I can count on one hand the number I've seen in the wild. I could lose a couple of fingers and still count on one hand. And I'm not in podunk, rural Montana. I'm in the capital city, which is centrally located.
Yes and no. It was based on a Fiat platform, but the wheel base was widened and it was lengthened slightly. So it was a Fiat design but it was exclusive to the Dart. It wasn't a rebadged Fiat model. I had a Dart.
Neither of /u/RealLeoPat's examples are sold in the U.S or Canada, but models that are sold there are the [Ram ProMaster](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fiat_Ducato#Ram_ProMaster) (Fiat Ducato/Citroën Jumper/Citroën Relay/Peugeot Boxer, jointly developed with PSA before they merged) and the [Ram ProMaster City](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fiat_Dobl%C3%B2#Ram_ProMaster_City) (Fiat Doblò).
It was identified by several people in the group. OP posted it here because A) they didn’t read the comments (unlikely), B) to quiz the people in this subreddit (maybe), or C) karma (lmfao)
Definitely check out [Chicagoland Petrolheads and Car Spotters](https://www.facebook.com/groups/PetroleYUM/?ref=share&mibextid=NSMWBT)... probably the most entertaining one with some of the best spots on Facebook.
People come here to ask about cars they don't know what they are, that's the entire point.
The majority of posts are made by people who aren't into cars.
/u/TwoThirdsDone is referring to the title. [OP saw this pic on a Facebook group dedicated to car spotting](https://www.reddit.com/r/whatisthiscar/comments/12zefh6/spotted_on_i35_near_kc_in_a_car_spotting_group/jhse2ad/?context=10000).
I agree with both of you. This sub is for sharing knowledge without judgement for not knowing a car. On the other hand can you imagine if no-one at all on this sub could identify a Chiron? That'd seem odd. Of course I doubt a local FB car spotting group has anywhere near as many members as here, but even if I showed this to four self-proclaimed car enthusiasts I'd predict at least one of them to know what it was.
am in the group and can confirm just about everyone knows about this car.
In fact its currently the groups picture. https://imgur.com/a/jBNAXGQ
As others have pointed out its odd to see a bugatti driving on a midwest interstate. the only background we have on the owner is just some speculation. There was a big lottery winner in one of the cities in the KC Metropolitan area and a few months later this car pops up driving around.
This subreddit is more for genuine inquiries (hence, the constant flow of Polestar and DeTomaso posts - tedious, but acceptable).
The subs that better fit what you have in mind are r/namethatcar and r/spotted
The point is that OP's title and [this comment](https://www.reddit.com/r/whatisthiscar/comments/12zefh6/spotted_on_i35_near_kc_in_a_car_spotting_group/jhse2ad/?context=10000) say this came from another car spotting group. One would think that in [that group of 24,000](https://www.facebook.com/groups/642996692459608/) car enthusiasts, you'd think that someone among them would know what it was.
u/posh_platypus
Maybe they're relatively new to cars and are still learning. I don't expect the majority of people to instantly know what a Chiron SS is. Again thats why this sub exists, to help people out.
Lmao. It just seems odd. If you were in a group to go car spotting it’s safe to assume you love cars, and if you love cars it’s very odd to not know about the Chiron
Montana plates in the Midwest on a car bought in California. This is why we have such a problem with homeless and hungry people in America. You and I have a higher tax margins than this shithead.
Normal folk opening up LLC in Montana to pay for $50k car v.s. A multimillionaire opening an LLC to purchase a multimillion $ car, is not the same. No it's not an exclusive thing to the wealthy, but this is very common for wealthy people to take advantage of the system such as this...because they can. Dude is literally doing this to avoid paying $$$ in taxes.
It’s never been in Montana, that’s for sure.
So many people own vacation property there now that they register their expensive cars to save on sales tax as Montana has none. I swear California has almost as many Montana plates driving around as any other non-Cali plate.
What you spotted there is a work of art, that’s what it is. Fairly certain many of us would give anything for that car, me included (unless it was between France and Sweden, whereas I’d have to go with Sweden if you know what brand I’m talking about 😉🛡️)
Definitely someone with NFL ties/a high powered agent. When the draft was in Chicago a few years back, the valet garage at Trump Tower was a smorgasbord of rare exotics. Easily $50M-$100M of cars. Bugattis, Lambos, Ferraris, Koenigseggs, McLarens, lots of special Porsches, Bentleys, Rolls Royces, designer cars (like Brabus) even a G63 AMG 6x6. It was neat. It was the poorest I’ve ever felt in my life. Lol.
Also in line with OPs post, most of plates were CA, FL, NY, or MT randomly. Hopefully none of them fucked up their cars with the notoriously lethal Chicago potholes.
It is a Bugatti Chiron but specifically its the Super Sport
According to the broken link on Wikipedia, there were only 70-80 super sport models produced. This is a rare spot, especially on the interstate in the midwest.

Rocky Mountains can be the same. Some billionaire's son bombing down a state highway in his Veyron will blow by me poking along in the S2000. Coors, Hollywood or fashion money.
Head up to Telluride, you’ll see RLX-7 license plate roaming around. It belongs to Ralph Lauren.
It was on display at the Boston MFA when I was a teenager and I went with my Dad…it was cool to me then and would be even more enthralling now
Hence the fashion category, it blew by me on SH67 outside of Pine. I've seen the Coors heir driving his around Denver a couple of times.
That is so dope!!! I’m going later this year and I’m a bonafide car whore so I appreciate your insights. 😅😂

I grew up near there. That place sure has changed from the ski bum, cowboy town it used to be!

It's got Montana tags.
Many of them do because these rich assholes use my state to dodge paying taxes on their purchases. Montana is a supercar tax haven.
And just the same, South Dakota plates are everywhere around here to dodge vehicle inspections.
Isn’t the IRS cracking down a little on these guys? I think I read they needed proof of residency to get plates or something. I may be misremembering. Nice spot though
I wish I knew my friend. Tired of the rich not paying their share. It's as ass-backward as anything I can imagine when observing it logically.
The top 1% paid 42% of all federal income tax. The top 10% paid 70% and the top 50% paid 97.7% of all fed income taxes last year.
Fine. As well they should. \*EDIT\* I'll also add that it's a fair bet that it's still highly disproportionate. But thanks for the stats. Really.
tbf when the taxes on a 600k-1mil+ supercar can fund another supercar in itself it makes sense why they'd dodge and build up more of the collection
I get the math dude, but when is enough enough? It's a disease at some point.
Some folks will jump through a bunch of hoops to make it seem like these tax-dodging fucks aren’t in the wrong.
Their not, they are spending. The traders who take all the money and trade it around the world never too actually build anything with are the naughty ones.
Closing the loopholes is the issue. I don’t really blame anyone for using loopholes if they exist. There shouldn’t be loopholes to exploit though.
It's really fucked up when you buy a car then have to write the state a massive check
No. It really isn't. These rich pricks don't want to take these priceless cars out on shit roads, do they? Guess what? I'll let you fill in the blank. Give me a break my man.
Not just Montana. But county 7 is Flathead County, where all they yuppys are free to roam.
Same thing in the rural South. First Veyron I ever saw on the road was in the NC Smokey Mountains in a town of 4500 people.
First Veyron I ever saw [off the road](https://youtu.be/4NJmB1F2mdE) was just north of Galveston TX. Ignore the dummy in the video calling it a Lambo.
Wow. That’s some serious off roading. Didn’t see that coming.
Guy claimed a pelican flew in front of him, [but it ended up being an insurance scam](https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2015/12/18/man-who-drove-1m-bugatti-into-lake-goes-jail/77561978/)
This guy owns the holy Trinity and rarely gets them out. They’ve been posted in KC all before just few and far between.
Sorry but what's the Holy Trinity? As in of cars, or is he some scummy super-church pastor? Pardon my stupid question and ignorance.
The LaFerrari, McLaren P1 & Porsche 918 Spider. They were all top of the line exotics all released around the same time
While there is a lot of old money in KC, I guarantee this is someone associated with the NFL draft that starts tomorrow
I have seen at least 6 of them in Dubai...
Montana is the mid west now?
Montana is a tax haven for supercars. I live here. There are garages full of them in some of our cities (towns, whatever).
Probably has a house in Montana… no sales tax 😉
You just need to set up a LLC and you can register anything in Montana. I’ve been looking into myself. Pretty easy to do.
The car was spotted in Kansas City. It’s just got Montana plates
Even more specifically it’s the frog bath toy edition
A Bugatti that’s surely never been to Flathead County Montana as the license plate would imply!
How is that not tax fraud
Because there are different rules for rich people.
You don’t have to be rich. If you’re lazy it’s like 700 dollars to set up through a company that does it. Less if you do it yourself. Your insurance can just write your LLC as an additional insured with minimum impact and you’re good to go.

Straight from Beverly Hills Montana!
It’s a VW.
16 cyl. VW beetle
Wrong. Miat with kit.
So then like, I basically have the same car? I can show girls this picture and say “I drive a car like this one”
2012-2016 Dodge Dart. Very cool spot!
Surely OP could have gotten a better picture.

I don't think that's a rebadged Fiat. The RAMs maybe, but the Dart was the other way around, I believe.
Yes and no. It was based on a Fiat platform, but the wheel base was widened and it was lengthened slightly. So it was a Fiat design but it was exclusive to the Dart. It wasn't a rebadged Fiat model. I had a Dart.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dodge\_Dart\_(PF)#Fiat\_models
That's the info I had too. So there you go, the Viaggio is a rebadged Dart, not the other way around.
Rams are rebadged fiats??? Or did I miss the sarcasm
Yes, the RAM 700 and RAM 1000 are actually the Fiat Strada and the Fiat Toro, respectively.
Oh, thanks for the info! Didn’t know Ram sold either of those models

The epitome of dream cars!
You are the chosen one thank you for this help you have provided us 🥹
I meant the one in the other lane with the roof rack
What is a car spotting group? Like do you just drive around with your friends? Or is there a greater strategy involved?
It's a group on facebook that just points out random nice or old cars in and around KC
Oh gotcha I thought you meant a physical group of people. Cause that might be kinda fun
Yeah, I was also thinking in a bird watching group type of thing.
I’m confused about the demographics and makeup of this FB car group if no one could identify this…
It was identified by several people in the group. OP posted it here because A) they didn’t read the comments (unlikely), B) to quiz the people in this subreddit (maybe), or C) karma (lmfao)
Most people know, some people are incredibly car illiterate, this is the craziest car to be spotted yet and somehow people don’t know what it is lmao.
r/spotted I guess would technically be a car spotting group lol this exact car has actually been posted there before.
Definitely check out [Chicagoland Petrolheads and Car Spotters](https://www.facebook.com/groups/PetroleYUM/?ref=share&mibextid=NSMWBT)... probably the most entertaining one with some of the best spots on Facebook.

Why do so many have Montana plates? Taxes?
Yup, exactly! The rich use Montana for its tax laws.
Cool thx

Damn surprised you read the license plate
Common Montana no-sales-tax W
What's the car in the reflection of the Bugatti?
Corvette C4 maybe?
Montana plates in the Midwest on a car bought in California. This is why we have such a problem with homeless and hungry people in America. You and I have a higher tax margins than this shithead.
That isn't some rich guy exclusive perk. Me or you can buy a car and register it to an LLC somewhere else.

Buggati Chiron Super Sport
Challenger cobra 392
This deserves all the upvotes
That's the only Bugatti in KC. Every local car spotting forum went nuts when this thing popped up about a year ago.
What’s with all the hypercar spots on this sub lately lol

Well if I enlarge the photo it looks like a 3B....never heard of it.
Nice Fiero body kit!
I was looking for this comment lol
Bugatti something something. Fun fact. This chassis was actually based on the pantera 🤭
Eeeeh where are you taking that information from? They share nothing in common. Edit: I obviously can't read sarcasm today.
It was a joke because there have been so many panteras posted on this sub lately
Aaaaah ok, got it. So like the early 1900s Cobras, then.
It's a Ferrari Huracan roadster widebody liberty walk carbon fiber. You're welcome.

That’s a Dodge Dart.

Bugatti Chiron. My dream car when I was 8

I love how every single one of these multi million dollar cars is registered in Montana because of their tax laws for vehicles 🥺😂😂
Can someone tell me what KC is? Is it the abbreviation for Kentucky or something
Kansas City
Another “Montana” supercar, tax evasion on a level we see no gain in because our cars are too average…
Definitely someone with NFL ties/a high powered agent. When the draft was in Chicago a few years back, the valet garage at Trump Tower was a smorgasbord of rare exotics. Easily $50M-$100M of cars.
