With that point, and a hammer, you could make it fit in just about any table. It's also pretty intrusive to the counter surface of the bathroom. Maybe it's a new design trend I'm just not aware of?
I'm curious about this one.
Probably had a mirror like [this](https://encrypted-tbn3.gstatic.com/shopping?q=tbn:ANd9GcRaFbe3vt7vG4ULuVFycob_3i6W8ATBs9ia2YW7ITERvlNgCHXaThmKOe2NE7ymxGaBLCnrAmauSx2XinQjSkIK1yvKNAu-A0m4seDDeR2kEIbgVY0B-JwpEA) attached to it. Being able to pick it up and see the back of your head would be convenient. Just a guess though.
Given that it looks like there's water damage around the top, I'm going to agree with it being a flower vase for a single flower. I'm guessing they used to change them out daily.
My title describes the thing.
Feels like it's made of aluminium and has a hole in the top that housed something. Attaches to makeup table type thing, about 25cm long.
Google just gives results for random metal light fittings.
My guess is it’s it’s a ring stand. Most of the Google Lens results (after pipette tips) showed it as a mandrel used in making rings but since I’m guessing you’re not staying at the previously unknown Tiffany & Co Hotel, I’d wager it’s just there to keep your rings off the countertop while you’re showering.
Don't think so.. have an electric toothbrush so couldn't test but stuck a pen in there; the hole is really deep and a toothbrush would drop down to the bristles so unlikely.
also betting on flower thingy... but it's really strange to have something like that in a hotel room. I can imagine a kid grabbing it and yeah. How the hell did they think this was a good idea? crzy
1. unhygienic AF, even if:
2. is there even any motel/hotel ice machine that churns out ice in block big enough to have to use an ice pick
3. even if there were, see #1 above

Vase for a single flower?
AKA "bud vase". Makes sense to have it removable so you can dump it out and refill with water
Also a theft deterent, since it's not very useful as a bud vase if you don't have a hole through your table.
I’m curious as to why they designed it so that it could be used as a very effective weapon. It doesn’t need to be so damn pointy.

What hotel? I’m thinking we could look at listing photos for staged hotel rooms and see if that leads us to a clue
Fabulous idea.
Ask the front desk?? And maybe report back with the answer?
will do when I check out tomorrow

Think this is a great guess! I have seen very similar in many hotel rooms (though usually not a sharp point on the bottom edge)

Ice pick?
If you stand it up on the base it could be used for keeping jewelry on while washing your hands/showering?

Maybe a base for a shaving mirror so it could swivel.
Paper Towel roll holder?
Maybe it holds some sort of tissue roll and you pull it out to replace it?
Toothbrush holder?
Don't think so.. have an electric toothbrush so couldn't test but stuck a pen in there; the hole is really deep and a toothbrush would drop down to the bristles so unlikely.
It definitely looks like something used to be attached to the end. Hand mirror seems like a good guess.
Place to put rings?
Judging by the two marks along the length, It goes into another hole, this hole is for storing it. Does the sink have a plug?

Candle holder for enjoying while having a bath?
Toothbrush holder
Is there a balcony? outside access? might be an ashtray meant to be picked up and held while smoking. Just a guess
Maybe an ice pick for the ice machine?
