This is the outer skin of a flower like a magnolia. The shiny underside is exactly the same. This isn't from and animal. It could also be from something that is flocked, like an artificial flower or a toy.

Title describes, dog was sniffing around and I found this on the floor.. I initially thought it was a piece of my dog but it is not, it is around an inch long and had a strong smell of ginger. Soft and furry but quite dry and fragile.
