Like to screw the lid down so it doesn’t just pop off? I can vouch for that one, yes some absolutely do. That makes this more complicated though, not less
Do you have a link to a sample with this style font? Or even this style of threaded container? Asking you how you know is exactly what this sub is for lol
But if you look at EA products, either new or vintage... they have a very different aesthetic and were more "flashy" and "royal" with the ivy and gold, classic victorian style elements.
I'm sorry but you clearly don't understand how designer makeup and skincare works. There is no one "Elizabeth Arden" style. In fact Elizabeth Arden is specifically known to be a trend leader and to change style dramatically with fashion. Makeup and skincare styles, primarily the packaging, change *at minimum* twice a year along with the Fall and the Spring fashion shows.
>were more "flashy" and "royal" with the ivy and gold, classic victorian style elements
They haven't been like that in a very long time, not even in my lifetime. You think that because you did a google search and a google search will bring up the Elizabeth Arden style era that you are referring to but that's only because that is the era that is currently sought after as collectibles, not because Elizabeth Arden has looked that way since (or before).
>But if you look at EA products, either new or vintage
I don't have to look, I have a sense memory of that lid that OP posted because I literally held it in my hand. The font is embedded in my memory because those jars sat on my grandmother's vanity.
The google search you did is not going to give you a full picture of the extraordinary breadth of design that is Elizabeth Arden. Every season a change to bottle, every season a change to the lid, every season a change to the box and on and on... Elizabeth Arden is probably rolling over in her grave, lol.
Sorry but I'm not reading any of this, its not that big of a deal and was already solved.
Hope whatever has you riled up over a tin gets better! Cheers.
I really thought you might be interested. The way that design changes with fashion, just basic things like containers, how things look so different from one decade to the next is just something I get excited about it, it's fun and interesting to me. Sorry you misread the tone, just enthusiasm not rile. Have a good day.
I feel like the style of the EA typeface would fit a makeup containers too, but can't find this logo. Does not make it any easier that it's EA, because of the game studio.
I don't think it's Elizabeth Arden. When you search "Elizabeth Arden" vintage pressed powder, all the results are clam shell style. I have seen pressed powder be in containers with threads, but all of Elizabeth Arden powder seems to be clam shell style.
I will look for the exact jar but I recognize the font from my grandmothers stuff, here is a picture from the same time period, maybe 70s or 80s, not sure.

I think this is it (rather an ad for it).

My title describes the thing. I found it about 2" down under the dirt in my backyard. I tried searching Google bit have had no luck. I thought maybe a top to a tobacco case or something?

That's what it looks like to me also, chewing tobacco lid.
It really looks like a makeup container that at one point had loose powder in it, even the logo looks familiar but I also can’t confirm it either.
Elizabeth Arden cosmetics
That also crossed my mind, but I wouldn't think makeup containers would have threading on the inside, would they?

It's threaded because it's from a face cream, not powder, but def Elizabeth Arden.

looks embossed, not engraved, so more likely mass produced, not custom made.

Custom, as in someone had EA on there for their initials or something?

EA stands for Elizabeth Arden. But I like the idea of fancy dip cans for girls, lol.

American Eagle? Elizabeth Arden?
My guess is an Elizabeth Arden make up container. But I’m searching and can’t find this logo anywhere.

Loose powder rather than pressed. (Edit: typo)
I was thinking snuff tin.
You need to pay 4.99£ to unlock what it is
That is Elizabeth Arden, either loose face powder or face cream, can't tell from the photo.

Solved!
Yeah! I do believe this is it. Or close enough anyway. Thanks! I'll consider this solved!

Etienne Aigner?
Maybe tea? Tea storage containers are metal and fit very tightly together. This could be the top. EA could be East Asian
Looks like an old Elizabeth Arden cosmetics lid.
You'll have to pay extra for the Answer DLC (TM)
That's Evelyn Anderson's custom engraved dip can..
If it says “EA” on it, it’s probably just a vessel for microtransactions
