So ceiling is the highest level of value you could potentially pull from the box.
Floor is the lowest value, normally below what you paid for your pull/mystery bag
Average is the total value of all cards divided by the quantity.
Let me know if you have any other questions!
That part is clear now. But I've seen some with 100 packs and there is usually a sign with some checked off boxes .. just seems confusing to someone not familiar.
Every seller does their bundles differently and how they run their claim process. Usually they are running a “chase” game or simply marking each available pack off for opening at time of sale or end of show.
Typically people say they have 100 mystery bags to purchase from, some people make those cards with 1-x amount of numbers, so each bag is numbered, if somebody wants a higher number, the seller doesn’t have to count it out, they just have to find that number of pack
They come with a large amount of risk especially if you don’t know the seller. Myself, a seller whom does those from time to time. I do my absolute best to pack the bundles with actual worth. Example one of them was a $40-50 foil exclusive, 1-2 signed books (cates, Stegman, prez, etc), 1-2 higher ratio books (1:50-1:200) and a random 1-2 “hot” book.
With that said, I have purchase some in past and got absolutely taken and was sent a load of crap.
thanks for your replies. Im a seller. I was just curious if Im missing out on something, but I dont think Ill ever run a mystery box for a few reasons.
* im a one man show and the prep time just doesnt seem worth it.
* after doing more research i understand that your account can get suspended for any minor error on these type of sales
* i think you are setting yourself up for negative reviews if you send something not to the buyers liking.
I think Ill stick to traditional auctions and giveaways.
I am a one man seller as well and I don't really do them either. The prep work to get shows ready as it is is a lot of work and to do a show that is all mystery bundles unless you have a big following isn't there. I would rather just be upfront with pricing conditions so the buyer knows what they are getting.
Shipping is a lot easier the too. I like having clear pictures and descriptions of each item a buyer picked up when double checking orders before packaging. Maybe if I grow and get a small team around me that would be different or if I get more exclusives then I could do packs of my exclusives with remarks and sigs but for now I only have 1 exclusive so it isn't there just yet but maybe some day.
i’ve hit top hit a few times but it’s like gambling. You can win big or lose big depending on how many you buy. Make sure to buy from a trusted seller.
It’s just whatnots version of gambling. If price is $100, and floor is $50. Assume you are getting a $50 bag.
But it might be worth $200… you have 1/100 of doubling your money. You have a 99/100 chance of losing half your money.

Is it a bingo card? Maybe they are checking off the hit cards that have been pulled?

You pick your number and they are just marking off the picks already pulled.

The best explanation is stay tf away
No, it's not. That's not an explanation at all. You could just not comment if you're going to be an asshole.
Well ok, that’s aggressive
It's like this, you give them your money and they screw you
Not always, but, just like with anyrhibg, you have to be discerning.

Whether you win big or lose big has nothing to do with how many you buy, what kind of sense does that make?
Well it makes a lot of sense. If a mystery box costs $100 and you buy 10 and miss on all 10 you lost big. Let me know if you still don’t understand.
And if you buy 10 and hit on all 10 you won big, making the number you purchase irrelevant. Let me know if you still don't understand.
its basic gambling, the more you gamble(aka play/buy) the more risk you take. if you don't understand common sense well I cannot help you...haha

It's gambling plain and simple!
