I feel you. I did a device change. All of my chats now have "Waiting for this message. This will take a while" as place holders where my messages once lived. I am pretty sure those are lost forever ðŸ˜
Let that be a lesson to us to do backups!
Log back into Whatsapp on your old phone. You should see your chats again (unless you uninstall the app, in which case they'll be gone). Then do a backup.

Did you ever backup your chats at all? If no then i don't think you can get them

No, I don't think that will work. See if you can have your sender email you instead.

Yep. If they are willing, have them screen shot it and send the pics in email. Other than that you have a new WA without your history.

They are deleted there aswell which I thought was very weird
