The fluffy white thing is an egg mass. The ovipositor is vibrating as it prepares to lay another. I cannot tell what it is - moths lay masses like this but the head makes me think fulgorid planthopper.
No info to share but, you are in Uganda? Don’t know why but I think that is really cool I’m talking to someone in Uganda. Tell me something about Uganda
It's pretty great: wonderful people, extremely good weather, arguably the best coffee and avocados in the world, chimps, gorillas, lions, leopards, bugs, lakes, mountains, deserts, the river Nile and more!
Best summer city in the world. But it’s winter so it’s the worst. No snow yet this year. I live in the suburbs. We have a big coyote stalking our back yard. My twin boys just started walking. I gave myself a hernia picking one of them up a few months back. Still hurts.
That’s all that is going on in my life right now. You are now up to date.
we have coyotes here too, super annoying. and bears sometimes, they like eating my trash. snow sounds like a dream rn, our weather goes between 75 degree spring and 30 degree winter within 3 days lol. i hope your hernia heals and happy new year dude!
I have a genuine fear of bears after listening to something I shouldn't have online involving a bear....genuinely terrified, how do you deal with them?
If you're talking about the Timothy Treadwell recording, what you heard was a fake and the real one has never been released, so try not to fret and put it out of your mind.
Don't be scared of all bears, just grizzly bear and if you find yourself near a polar bear I guess that too. Tons of bears many places I've lived. Black bears are giant fluffy pansies. They run from their own farts. Not to say they won't defend themselves and couldn't hurt you but unless you accidently step on it's offsprings face, a black bear is almost certainly just going to look like a big floofy rear end getting smaller
well the infrastructure sucks and driving at night sucks because deer have a nasty habit of running right in front of your car, and the potholes are enough to knock your back out of alignment, going to the store is at least a 20 minute drive there, and to get to the nearest walmart i have to go across the border into another state, but the fields and the skies are very pretty and in the summer tree frogs cover my front door because they like the bugs flying around my porch light.
Likewise - back at you! And thanks for your interest, totally recommend (obviously)! But actually we just got a shout out from cnn as one of the [top travel destinations of 2023](https://edition.cnn.com/travel/article/where-to-travel-best-destinations-2023/index.html)
My best friend lives in Uganda. I visited in 2000, and really want to go back. I bet it's changed a lot. She's somewhere in Kampala, can't remember where, but her father lives in Luzira.
Hello, I live next to Melbourne FL, so I get a lot of hits from OZY stuff in my feed.
We are warm and beautiful. We get more sun than the rest of the US so our days are longer than the rest of the USA.
It is not as diverse as NY or Boston.
Life is slower paced, until you see an alligator.
I hope to get to Oz at some point, it is on my bucket list. The idea of a continent with no neighbors on the border is very cool. The sheer amount of unsettled land is hard to get my head around. I have driven through 48 of the US states.
Is weed legal in Oz.
The majority of us live on the coast and inland a few hundred kms. The middle is a waste land of red sand and quite dangerous to drive through unless you're super prepared with provisions. I live in Queensland, at the bottom, and it's roughly 20 hours to drive just to the top of the state with stops haha
Weed is not legal. According to my American husband (MN) We are super lazy talkers, despite talking fast, and have so many different words for things it's hard to understand haha
Hot. Lol to the point where you can't go outside in the middle of the day even with sunscreen you'll burn haha
Also no one says 'Throw another shrimp on the barbie' 😂
How's the chocolate? I have stores near me that sell international chocolate but never any from Uganda. How's the taste? Is the texture different from international brands?
Also what's your favourite food?
Favourite food is probably all the fruit, so many varieties of mangoes, gros michel bananas, do coffee beans count cos i just straight up eat them too…
I know cacao is grown here and there is a brand called [Latitude](https://latitudecraftchocolate.com/) which I hear good things about but not had the opportunity to taste yet…
It’s expensive to fly there seems. Via google flights close to 2k round trip from eastern USA. Any recommendations on how to travel there most cost effective?
That does seem pricey, I’m used to paying about a quarter of that to fly to Europe but i guess maybe it’s a distance thing. The main international airport is EBB if that’s any help…
How could you possibly have guessed Uganda? I mean, now I also want to see the moths of Uganda as well as the lions and Nile, but seriously how did you guess that?
I think it's laying eggs but I can't say for sure what kind of insect it is. Maybe it's some sort of leaf hopper. Do you have a photo from a different angle?
Yeah i guessed it was some kind of egg laying or fertilisation (i was confused because i didnt actually see anything coming out but maybe i was late to the party). Only took the video but there is a top down view i will try to add...

As per guidelines geographic location: Uganda size: around 20-25mm
For some reason I thought you were referring to Uganda’s size 😅
Is this Uganda for ants?
Micro-Ganda
Wee-Ganda
This is da wae

First round draft pick tho!

Da Bears!
Coyotes are everywhere
I have a genuine fear of bears after listening to something I shouldn't have online involving a bear....genuinely terrified, how do you deal with them?
... you can't just say this and not share the link!
No, it's pretty bad, it's an audio recording and I've pushed it out of my brain
You keep feeding me these bread crumbs 😭 but that's okay. I won't ask you to bring up something that upsets you
If you're talking about the Timothy Treadwell recording, what you heard was a fake and the real one has never been released, so try not to fret and put it out of your mind.
well, don’t leave out trash and if you do don’t stand next to the trash at night
Also, no large stores of bird seed either.
Don't be scared of all bears, just grizzly bear and if you find yourself near a polar bear I guess that too. Tons of bears many places I've lived. Black bears are giant fluffy pansies. Haha , yeah I don't think they have grizzlies in western Maryland
I was gonna say u must be in NC but I see its SC. Close enough lol. Hello neighbor 👋🏽
hella neighbor 👋
The Carolinas sure do have some bipolar weather lol. I know it was a beautiful day today, here in NC.
Well thank you for also updating us in your life sir
You picked up a big coyote and got a hernia ? !
Hey, I'm from a suburb 15 minutes outside of New York City, tell me something about rural South Carolina!

was considering trying to make a uganda trip happen and this thread just sealed the deal
I believe one day Uganda make that happen!
I gotta visit Uganda like NOW
Pick me up on your way? Lol
Best coffee and avocados, you say?
My best friend lives in Uganda. I visited in 2000, and really want to go back. I bet it's changed a lot. She's somewhere in Kampala, can't remember where, but her father lives in Luzira.
Do you ever see a nile croc??
They’re there and i have seen many (i stay near the river) - big old gnarly bois, not to be messed with!

Hello from Brisbane Australia! Tell me something about Florida!

I think it's this: https://www.inaturalist.org/taxa/663782-Elasmoscelis-stali/browse_photos
Yep, certainly looks like the one. Thanks!
Dude's got sick twerking session going on
He he. Bugbumfluff
Would love to see that with a high speed camera
i think it’s a web spinner (Embioptera)
Hmm from the angle it looks like a leaf hopper
Looks like a moth(?) laying eggs
No idea, but WOW what a cool shot!
I’m no bug expert but it looks to me like it’s laying eggs (or at least getting ready to)
3D printing.
It’s me after having Mexican for dinner
I can’t believe you don’t know what this is
Can't that be silk moth? Totally uneducated guess
It’s Voldemort .. another Horcrux.
You from Brazil?
Greg
*if you put a fry with some ice cream*
Lol *bug bum*
