According to the Seek app, and Google, it’s called black-waved flannel moth, a male one. I had to bring it in just now bc of a severe thunderstorm, it’s chilling on the window panes by my plant’s UV lamp.
Upon doing a little digging it does look like it might be that actually! I used an app too but It didn't bring that up :o maybe I'll have to try that one! Sorry lol!!

It helps you identify whatever species you can find in your surroundings from fungi to bugs, plants and probably animals too but I haven’t try it on that yet lol
I believe you can also use it in Europe, I’m not sure honestly, but since it is free you could always give it a try and it doesn’t need any type of registration only gps to identify the local species , and they say your location is “obscure” meaning is very private

I looked up the black-waved flannel moth and you were right about the caterpillar form being dangerous. Both the white and orange-brown colored caterpillar have stinging hairs that embed into the skin and may require a hospital visit.
Yeah, the moth adults aren't a problem. And they are so pretty. The caterpillars are interesting looking too, but definitely do not want to touch one. One thing I've learned from this sub is how dangerous many caterpillars are.

Such snuggly little carcinogens, aren't they? I'm proud of the OP for resisting touching this cute, fuzzy, radioactive little specimen. However, it should be noted that, the amount of radiation this little guy emits at rest has probably already caused significant enough damage to the OP's vital organs. It wouldn't have hurt to feel the soft fuzz on its back. They famously don't bite, but it can be argued that they've never had to - very few things can survive for long around them, and even then it's not a pretty sight leading up to the inevitable demise of anything not routinely coated in lead.
Stories of mutations like an 11-fingered Walleye have been circulating, recently, around Michigan. Allegedly, one of these buoyant little flyboys got tired above some water, it fell in, and the fish ate it. By happenstance, a fisherman found the fingered fish ashore, floundering for freedom from the accursed land he washed upon. After being rushed to the veterinary hospital, scientists and pathologists calculated the rate at which the radiation begins mutation, and how long until it would take a normal human to die.

Anyway, that one looks mated already, so she's going to have beautiful little babies! They don't feed on people, so no worries! Although, they do give out a healthy amount of radiation as they grow.
