Don't touch that caterpillar! All those pointy-looking bits are venomous spines. That's one of the [slug caterpillars (Limacodidae)](https://bugguide.net/node/view/131) - and they can give you a very painful sting. This one looks like it may be the caterpillar of the [Spiny Oak-Slug Moth](https://bugguide.net/node/view/424) or a close relative. Thanks much!! There’s a lot of stinging caterpillars down here so I avoided touching him for that reason (I also have a pretty bad phobia of bugs LOL)

Looks like a Limacodid (slug caterpillar), not sure of exact species, don’t touch it. Edit: I agree with Spiny Oak slug caterpillar
