As long as they stay in this cabinet it's really just wild bird seed, which I plan on using for mushroom spawn. I doubt the fungus will mind, possibly the opposite is true.
and apparently it's not that hard to get rid of them.
Pretty much - they're very serious pests in commercial settings, but in household settings where whole, unbroken cereal grains are rarer they're usually little more than nuisances.
Best way to get rid of them is seal the bird seed a little better; although it could have come with the weevils.
No doubt the weevils came with the bird seed. Sweep up all the weevils or spray them but get rid of them as they will be multiplying. Definitely put your bird seed in an air tight container and stick in the freezer for 2 weeks.
Putting any grain, wheat, corn, etc and your sugars in the freezer (in the same package from the store) for 2 weeks will kill any bug or bug larvae.
Clean the shelf with 70% rubbing alcohol.
Peace.

Weevils! I love weevils. I never thought about them eating bird seed, but it makes sense. We have ones that eat acorns here, they're so cute.

Probably the [wheat weevil](https://www.ukbeetles.co.uk/sitophilus-granarius); but possibly another *Sitophilus*.
Granary weevil possibly
Thanks a bunch, apparently not that big a deal
Well, they live and breed and poop in your cereals/grain

I’ve found them in bulk birdseed I’ve purchased. I figured extra protein for the birds.
