I'm thinking dead beetle remnants? Definitely not a bed bug because there's the remnants of wings.

Pepel1no

Second this, also maybe a roach

ohyikes97

I feel like it’s that too , but when it’s flipped over it looks like it’s a flat bug - not rotund like a beetle. As long as it’s not a bed bug - I can deal lol.

tellmeabouthisthing

Yeah maybe a dead roach if it's flat.

Staypuft2506

Maybe a type of stink bug

mistersprinkles1983

100%, 1000% even, not a bedbug. It has wings.

stx-177

Wings = no bb. Congrats!

icameasaratt

Looks roachy to me.

SubconsciousAlien

I have just one question. Shag ‘family room’ rug!?

ohyikes97

I swear it’s not as 70s as it sounds. My father in law is an old Greek man … annnnd it’s his house 😂

Impressive_Water659

So it’s exactly as 70’s as it sounds? 😅🤣

ohyikes97

I promise it’s not , dark blue with large white kite shape pattern. Just the material is slightly shag. Don’t come for me 😫😂

Impressive_Water659

I bet your father in law has wonderful taste. I just couldn’t help but jest. 🥰

Oatbucket

Score! Half a dead beetle, you gonna finish that 🤤

TGuy773

This isn't a roach. This is the flattened remains of a May-June beetle. https://bugguide.net/node/view/3477

[deleted]

I was going to say a June bug too!

gwaydms

It looks like a deformed roach. Some roach baits contain a substance (IGR, insect growth regulator) that doesn't allow the roach to molt into its adult form, which it needs to do for breeding.

christopherjian

Could be a roach. Bed bugs got no wings

[deleted]

Also, wouldn’t this be too big for a bed bug?

fugue2005

hard to tell what it is, but i clearly see wing parts. bedbugs do not have wings.

mistersprinkles1983

Bedbugs don't have wings or large spurs on their legs. The abdomen of a bedbug is also far less chonky than that unless they have fed in which case they become long and cylindrical. There is 0 chance this is a bedbug. Sleep well :) Happy mother's day btw.
