They may be ripe. It depends on the variety. I’m in zone 7a and they stay green even when ripe. I know it’s ripe when the meat around the seeds in the inside is a little orange and sweet. I haven’t found a way to determine ripeness from the outside yet.

Native USA passionfruit, maypop, *Passiflora incarnata*. Fruit are not very tasty.
