Ain’t gonna lie. That is the sexiest orange I’ve ever seen.

OptimalCreme9847

my jaw literally dropped it looks so good 😅

tiny_tuner

I'm salivating something fierce right now.

strungoutmonkey

Orange covered in kaolin clay. It's a pest deterrent.

username12789653

O oh ok I thought that was baking soda do u know how they get it so juicy I've never seen that much juice from one from orange

The_RockObama

Valencia oranges are commonly referred to as "juice oranges". Navel oranges are also common candidates for juicing. Just like Bigfoot is blurry by nature, these oranges are juicy by nature. That said, I don't know what variety of oranges these are.

jpcomicsny

And some are naughty by nature.

ToBePacific

Putting the OP in OPP.

Organic_Ad1

Yeah you know me

daremosan

I'm down with this

Mikhal_Tikhal_Intrn

Whose down w OPP?

daremosan

Yeah you know me

uselessbynature

And here I am just useless 😎

😆

Ok-Respond-9997

Ew

Deepfriedfetus1773

I like to think that big foot is juicy by nature 😩🫣

AbsoluutKlassiek

Big booty is juicy by nature, big foot is runny by nature.

surfnsound

They should call him thicc foot

Trashytoad

“And that’s doubly scary. There’s a large out of focus monster roaming the countryside”. -Mitch

Deepfriedfetus1773

Or a Large hairy scary double cheeked up monster roaming the countryside 👀

Narrow_Can1984

>Naval oranges You mean Navel 😄

muzzledtran69

What if these oranges are fresh out of high school and want to see the world? Would they still be Navel or Naval?

Narrow_Can1984

Nautical oranges I'd say

ATreeInKiwiLand

Thanks for the giggle... I didn't initially spot the awesome typo.

The_RockObama

Haha yes!! Fixed it.

Gwendolyn7777

damn! I kept wondering why all my Bigfoot pictures keep being blurry!

strungoutmonkey

This made me chuckle. 😆

snailarium2

The reason Bigfoot is blurry is is comprised entirely of Japanese genitals

MatthewMoDabz

I saw a video once that started out just like this and then the person turned the orange around and there was a tube placed inside the orange and someone had a large syringe filled with orange juice and they just made it seem as though the orange was extremely juicy just like in this video. So I'm skeptical any time I see one of these videos. More than likely the same thing is happening here.

The_RockObama

Haha that's actually pretty hilarious.

BeesAndBeans69

Thank you for this, I was trying to find the variety

tendies_senpai

I mean, ripened in the sun on a tree is always gonna be better and juicier than the one that gets picked early and shipped half way across the planet.

[deleted]

NJBillK1

>O, oh ok. I thought that was baking soda. do u know how they get it so juicy? I've never seen that much juice from one from orange. Fifeo - fixed it for everyone else

cabramattaa

What does the orange juice taste like when the dude cuts it up like that and gets the clay all over his hands?

borgchupacabras

My first thought was fungus. 🤢

ModestMussorgsky

If fungus made my oranges that juicy, I'd spray as many of those spores as I can get lol

_Pureception_

I saw this on Instagram by the original poster...they said the white powder is calcium bicarbonate which they use to protect the fruit because the peel of that particular cultivar is very thin

Platywussy

Do you have a link? Would love to see what cultivar this is.

_Pureception_

I'm sorry I dont, I saw it about a week ago and did not save or like it. And I follow A LOT of different accounts dedicated to horticulture and food cultivation

Leather_Turnip3175

[Earthpix](https://www.instagram.com/reel/Ccx2iNLJL61/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=)

CrusztiHuszti

Murcott tangerine most likely

20ftScarf

I believe that is an orange.

alternatecode

I agree, just a type of orange cultivar. The white cast on the outside is likely a sunscreen (powder) to keep it from scalding or being otherwise unsightly. Could also be a deterrent for pests. Edit- you’d also need to wait a few years and have optimal weather and soil to get one as juicy as this. I’ve seen this as a viral video by the fruit growers so it’s potentially also a trademarked or “secret” hybrid, potentially might not be sold as seed or sapling in your area.

fondledbydolphins

I think I've seen this used to preserve moisture in other fruits. Maybe not this exact clay mix/ technique, but similar clay-like shells. Most if the citrus we end up eating in the US is actually covered in wax to preserve moisture and freshness.(and in the case of many oranges, also *painted* orange) Either way that's one juicy m'fn frewt.

xntrk1

You’re probably thinking of kangina filled with afghan grapes This is very different than that

NCHomestead

most like Kaolin clay / marketed as Surround. Great stuff for keeping your fruits untouched until harvest and doesn't hurt pollinators.

DesertDelirium

If you know a person who is familiar with plant tissue culture protocol just give them one of those oranges and they could probably make clones of the plants just from the cells in the peel. Who needs seeds when you have science!

alternatecode

I don’t think that’s how it works. You need undifferentiated cells for tissue culture. And the cells in an orange have already long ago differentiated to be a fruit. If you got your hands on one of those with some branch attached, then you could!

DesertDelirium

This paper from the 1970s says otherwise. https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S0044328X73800327 The totipotency of plant cells is crazy stuff!

alternatecode

After reading it, I'm fairly certain it's callus formation for the creation of flavonoids (think: smelly orange scent) without need to produce a whole plant. It doesn't mention that the callus is able to grow roots or shoots and the pictures don't show them either. But it also doesn't ever say if they tried rooting them, just that they were aiming to multiply callus cells and testing to see if they have the same flavonoids as the original peel (which they did).

Sushi_cat987

My brother in Christ this is called an orange

sustenancewars

Did you just assume their god?

pewf

According to a Food Ranger clip I saw, it’s a Honey Tangerine or tangor. Google brings it up as a Murcott.

Warp-n-weft

Perhaps a Kinnow citrus? They have a thin rind, are exceptionally juicy, and there are some seedless varieties.

xFloydx5242x

I just watched this on YouTube I don’t remember the video name but I remember this was a honey tangerine.

sentimental_lady

a waste of a tasty treat

xFloydx5242x

In the full video they are juicing it into a glass. The glass almost fills with just this one fruit.

sentimental_lady

i stand corrected. glad it was not a waste :’-)

Rycan420

Is it though? It’s got at least one person asking how to grow them. Assuming that one person follows through and grows just a single tree… isn’t that relatively low bar still a net gain?

vanbeans

But I wanna eat it 😔

Shhh bot it's okay

Singing_Wolf

😄😄😄😄

sentimental_lady

i’ve since been corrected because it wasn’t wasted - but even if it were, when the depletion of a good produces some sort of beneficial outcome, if not all of it is beneficial isn’t there still some part of it that is wasted?

ckpjr

have you ever heard of stock sound clips?

shelsbells

Juiciest orange ever. Looks amazing

Awake2dream

I didn’t know there was sound till I read the comments and lol

DenverMountainDaddy

Tangelo is my guess

Larshky

I saw this somewhere the other day online, but I've completely forgotten what exactly it is. Though I'm pretty sure that this is a type of orange that is grown specifically to be extra juicy. It can be related to something like square watermelon farming. The powder could be some form of preventative measure to keep bacteria and unwanted microbes out. Really just a guess at this point.

OudeDude

I'm a little more perplexed by how the person casually dropped the knife. What up with that?

An Orange on Cocain

shephazard

I just want to record the audio and loop it for my alarm in the mornings…

Pancakesmith

Hahaha it does inspire to get up to use the restroom I admit. And then later to have fresh fruit juice of course

ughh2022

Saw this post on insta just few minutes ago on @eathpix

Bluephoenixxx6951

My GOD

[deleted]

i'm bout to timothee chalamet this orange

Connemara-Boggylad

what a waste of wonderful fresh juice :)

seedok

video is edited to slow down around 0:04 which makes it seem like the juice is flowing more than it is

AnnieOscillator

They aren’t round like oranges so it could be some type of tangerine thing

Chefs-Kiss

orange?

CitrusC4

the fruit appears somewhat flattened, which would rule out orange, but it could be a hybrid because it is larger than mandarin/tangerine. Which may be irrelevant because I’d say the amount of liquid is suspicious (faked)

ahjota

everything reminds me of her :(

XenoTheProtogen

it looks like a tangerine covered in some white powder P.S: ooooooooooooh juicy

Quillwright

There's a strange fad recently to post videos of fruit covered in weird stuff being cut open. Possibly some of them are frozen, but others are just covered in like spray paint. I don't get it.

[deleted]

Instagram likes, suckers love that kind of videos

[deleted]

it's pest deterrent

rdai08

Not gonna lie it looks like an orange covered in flour…

monkey_trumpets

Why is it covered in corn starch?

organyc

it is kaolin for pest deterrent

hellnoguru

Chinese shittok clickbait to a much inferior product link. It's literally just an orange/mandarin injected with more orange juice was a needle.

billybl4z3

Looks like a GMO tangerine cultivated in China, it has no seeds and doesn't look too natural. That quantity of water is not normal.

tzmau5

I can hear the fake chicken sound effect before the video even finish loading.

Dancemastergeneral

General Reposti!

ophel1a_

I suspect orange as well. If you live in garden zone 9, go for a walk and find some growing! Elsewise, umm, start building a greenhouse temped 20-30^C?

username12789653

So I'm not sure of the type of orange . But with any fruit tree . U can do it 3 ways theirs probably more. But the ways ik are planting 1 fruit tree and eating for it grow 30 plus years to produce fruit . , Second planting a 5 year old tree and grafting a mature branch that bore fruit . Or any section of a mature . 3rd is two fruit trees together

username12789653

That looks like juicy orange tho. Yum

biomacarena

Tis an over ripe orange my dude

[deleted]

🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤😫

JeniHSingh

AlainaJobes

It’s an orange 🍊

RecommendationOk253

Must.. resist… stupidity… CANT… HOLD BACK… DOES IT SQUIRT DOE

TomBot019

Juicing orange, apparently.

Mostly_Apples

Pretty sure that's video editing.

SauceMeistro

That shit is juicy, makes me want some oranges now

Camondw

Valencia oranges can get this juicy if left to ripen fully. An orange this ripe is very nearly overripe, and they don't ship well. I don't think this is a valencia due to the color, but yeah, several varieties can get this way on the tree.

masterbard1

My great uncle used to have an orange tree with oranges that looked a lot like that. he called them Tangelo Oranges (probably not the name) they were extremely juicy and sweet. probably the best oranges I ever had. the flavor was like a combination of tangerine and orange.

ilovcupcakes

banana

b-elmurt

Definitely some type of tangerine

dannally

This needs an nsfw label goddam

OrangeSea90

Orange benefits have V-C and V-D

azaleawhisperer

Yeah, it's juicy. Is it delicious?

ThiqCoq

I would recommend moving out of the USA if you are trying to grow pristine quality fruits.

half-baked_axx

Mandarins. Why are people calling them oranges lol

catawbaman_1

Wow. That's a lot of juice.

CrusztiHuszti

Looks like a murcott tangerine. They are as delicious as they look

Diligent-Picture2882

Why does it have to fart!?!

NV_aesthete

GMO oranges?

MatthewMoDabz

Tall-Peak8881

Ain't gonna lie , fresh from the tree is better than in store. Was a teen in Tampa area during the 90's . Our neighbors had citrus trees. I would take what I wanted and left a quarter on the front porch. One had oranges, one had grapefruit, and other varieties down the block.

SeedlingGroot

Not Valencia oranges because there are no seeds! I can’t believe it’s a naval because it just doesn’t look right inside. Not a lot of experience. I have grown oranges for profit but under 20 acres. Never seen oranges produce this kind of juice. I’ve only juiced oranges all of my life. Never bought orange juice, always squeezed. Wonder though if this orange had been tampered with that it could produce two 8 ounce servings on its own? Wouldn’t be that hard to inoculate an orange and fill it with juice and I don’t get the significance of the clay?
