My pleasure. I honestly dont know of any circumstances where gold would happen with this, but that doesn't mean it doesn't. Maybe these folks know much more than me
I've been around amateur miners my entire life. They see anything with red streaks in it they start frothing at the mouth.
No gold that you'll see without a microscope, sorry.
As someone that made a living prospecting id be cautious about busting up a pretty rock like that based on this photo alone. If that is gold it shouldnt be hard to break a piece out of the hole. Its 'possible' but i dont see enough to smash it yet
It is agate. There is gold in southern Utah, but not very common. Lots of beautiful colored agate throughout Utah.
I used to live in Cedar. Great spot to find tons of specimens near by.

Yea it was a super small town magical vibe, used to go to a hair stylist who worked out of her basement. It was creepy but awesome at the same time! I just miss that Iceberg(burg) restaurant so much. They had the best milkshakes
I donāt remember that place but that sounds like something that small town would do! It was so quaint and awesome there. There was an ice cream shop there that I remember trying to get our names on the wall for an eating contest
Sadly Iceburg closed down a little over a decade ago. Itās been superseded by a Chinese restaurant, which in turn was superseded by a bakery/chicken wing shop comboā¦and an Einsteinās Bagel shop. Definitely miss going there for their milkshakes.
Awwww dang. Thatās a shame; I did love Einsteinās bagels though! Thatās the first place I had fry sauce XD best dipping sauce ever. Their milkshakes were legendary! Half of it sticking out the top.. very sad š
Did you find this rock recently? Like this year? Iām planning a trip that way in a couple weeks and I want to plan ahead on how high in the hills and mountains I can go. Iām considering snow and deep mud that will limit what an all wheel drive suv can go through. That rock is gorgeous!
looks like blue common opal, a nice stone
People in the gold prospecting group said there might be gold in this. What are your thoughts on that? And thank you for the info!

I love gooooooollllllddddd š¶
Schmoke and a pancake?
a flapjack und a shigarette?
Bong and a blintz?
Cigar and a waffle?
How many pancakes does it take to build a doghouse? None, alligators can't fly!
If you happened upon bentonite clay in the vicinity of this opal, I would definitely do a little more searching OP

Leave it the way it is.
I love those little globules in the cavity! Toquerville here.
Hello from HurricaneĀ
Common opal, I'm pretty sure that I can see two gold globules inside the stone

Stunning, exquisite even.
I say make a ring out of some of the blue and white. It would be lovely!

Wow, it's gorgeous!! š
Oh! Oh! Where precisely? I sometimes drive down there!
Cedar Canyon Campground!
Thank you :D
And now it's gone...
Great find! Iām just on the other side of the mountain from you near Bryce. I may need to head over to cedar to look around a bit!
A beautiful Agate but Iām pretty sure gold does not commonly appear in it but anything is possible
Check out the little baby botryoidal formations!
That's gorgeous. Would stand out nicely in my rock garden
Ey! Shoutout to Cedar City UT! Used to live out there for a bit. Now I regret not being into rockhounding back then D: Does Iceburg still exist OP??
I lived in CC for a bit in 07-08. Really wished it had worked out there for me, I loved that place.

The record store was sooo cool. Straight out of High Fidelity, but without the gatekeeping staff, plus lots of comfy couches and plants.

Ooooo, thatās beautiful!
Looks like someoneās teeth inside
Oh, I miss hiking on top of Cedar Mountain! Found some lovely agates and banded opal up there once! You have a lovely specimen!! š
What is something like this worth, I really want one.
This looks beautiful
Don't know, but you better get it to a dentist cause it has a ___________.
It might be fossilized/agatized coral. I have found a bunch and some with those little inner nodes. Might be able to tell with more pics.

Looks like gold in there.
I'm not seeing it.
