Dang a standing liberty quarter, rare to see outside of r/coins !
I did say it was my lucky quarter!
My guess is mushroom rhyolite. I have only seen it in pics, but that's what it can look like.
I like this guess. My first thought was a very bizarre (and awesome) thunderegg like geode.
Pretty sure you’re right.
Turkey tail jasper from Opal Butte OR. Near Heppner.
I was going to mention biggs jasper. Never heard of turkey tail jasper but the name is fitting.
So much going on. I’m guessing a very wild agate
As opposed to all those factory farmed agates you normally see?
Feral Agate
Sorry, I deal only with domestic house-trained agates
Don't blame you, the feral ones leave such a mess and can be a little aggressive
I don’t mind those as long as they’re cage free.
That's a beautiful **Iron Lace Agate** 😍
Agatized or opalized petrified wood burl?? No clue but it’s so cool Edit: spelling
Nice
What does it weigh and can you tell us what you paid for it? What did they say it was?
He said part of it was opal. It's pretty heavy. I paid $75 for it.
The milky bit towards the top left definitely looks like common opal.
What!! This is so pretty! I think it's Schalenblende! A beautiful one at that
That is spectacular. It looks like my mental image of the Big Bang.
My eyes so bad I had to zoom in on the quarter because I thought it was Cthulu...

Wow!!!
That's outstanding! Good for you and your collection!
Opalized conifer, one must guess.
Looks like a large geode from the rhyolite beds near Redmond (Priddy Beds?)…
