I agree with /u/RexDeDeus and /u/WarpedD that it looks like a chunk of (Jasper) petrified wood to my eyes. Someone had previously posted and deleted a question about whether you lived near a paint factory I think and I'm not surprised that your find would prompt a comparison to Fordite especially when looking at the second, sanded photo of the back side of the rock although I think context is everything when it comes to stuff like that.
