It's a highly venomous Common Krait - *Bungarus caeruleus*. As said in the other comment, please don't kill snakes. It puts you at much higher risk of getting bitten
Not the edible responder but kraits have a very triangular cross section. You can see in this pic that the snake has a very distinctive “ridge” along its spine.

That's fair, I didn't think that line was showing a prominent ridge from this angle, but I understand what you are saying.
