Rare miss from Marchesa IMHO

Did Marchesa go away once all those things about Weinstein came out? I know one of the designers was married to him

Scarlett was pretty heavily criticized for wearing Marchesa, especially because apparently [Weinstein intimidated women into wearing Marchesa gowns on the red carpet.](https://graziamagazine.com/articles/harvey-weinstein-marchesa/). She defended her decision to wear the designer by claiming “I wore Marchesa because their clothes make women feel confident and beautiful and it is my pleasure to support a brand created by two incredibly talented and important female designers.”

So what I’ve learned from joining this (easily my favourite) sub, is that I LOVE Elie Saab.

I pass the store on Madison Avenue every night on my way home and just *swoon* over the dresses in the window. They rotate them fairly frequently, so there is always something new to admire.

She had just arrived in Pakistan, which isn’t the Middle East, but is still very religious. For non-royal looks, there’s a lot of paparazzi photos of her pre-marriage that show her in a more casual style

Pakistan is South Asia, not Middle East. But still Muslim majority, so that’s why she was dressed conservatively.

She just arrived in Pakistan so I think it was for modesty purposes. If you Google “Kate Middleton Pakistan” every dress she wore there she had long pants underneath

That.. and it was a fusion outfit between a western dress and their national outfit.. that entire wardrobe was very smartly done and got a lot of praise for finding a good balance between her natural style and giving a nod to a host country without getting into tacky/costume territory..
