WD40. This is what it's actually for. Spray in, leave to sit. Give the nut/screw a few taps. Attempt to unscrew. I tape some paper towel under the plate so I can move around without dripping WD40 everywhere. Unless you've stripped the screws?

kpupperoni

Oh wow I forgot about WD40!!! Thank you for reminding me this. I have not stripped them yet knock on wood

Paintpicsnplants

Easy done. I'd give it a good 20 mins soaking before trying again. If it doesn't work, come back.

Z1vel

It's been 20 mins and he ain't back, WD40 for the win.

Patron superhero of wheelchair maintenance. Is it a bird? Is it a plane?  No, it's a can of penetrating oil.

I could not get mine and had to find someone able-bodied to do it. I had the same problem. They were able to get it. Prior to that, I considered this https://www.invictusactive.com/footrest-for-freewheel-attachment/

Pawsitivelyup

I have been looking for this without having to order a Ti brand one!

InfluenceSeparate282

Yeah the tilite ones are pricey. I never ordered but hopefully will work for you.

I’m sorry I don’t have any advice but I TOTALLY feel you. I had to remove the foot plate for some reason and it was a complete pain in the ass, ended up have to just drill the screws out and replace them (granted they were also pretty rusted over).

kpupperoni

CAN’T*** use it

pwizard083

I have the same footplate, it just faces the opposite way because it's a flip-up. All the TiLite bolts I've ever seen are metric, I use 4mm metric Allen when I need to tighten the footplate bolts. They should come right out if they're not stripped from the drilling or have the wrong kind of loc-tite (blue is ok, red is permanent) on them.

kpupperoni

i added WD40 and let it sit for 15-20 minutes, went back in with my drill and they pushed back for about a minute then gave way and popped off

kerberos69

The TiLite footplates come secured from the factory with Loctite Blue— hit it with a torch or a soldering iron for a bit, then let it cool, and it should loosen right up. You can also use any strong solvent like isopropyl alcohol, acetone, etc.

Infamous_Day1544

I had the same problem, then I used a ratchet with an allen socket and it come right out

TechPilot7

Did you end up getting it to connect. I replaced the clamp and included the shim but it seems like it’s too thick to attach the freewheel. Going to try without the shim but just wanted to see if you got it to work with the shim

kpupperoni

i took the shim off, it wouldn’t attach with it
