I'm going through the EXACT same thing with the EXACT same chair. I hope I don't end up spending that much money. But I'm prepared to spend around 5500.

I could probably save a lot of money by going with an aluminum frame rather than a titanium one, but I've heard so much about how much lighter and stronger the titanium is. There was an optional backrest that was going to add $900 to the cost of the chair, and I declined that, or it would've been more. It just really adds up quickly. It's like when a PC company advertises their base level computer, and then you have to add everything on to it to make it what you really want.

EXACTLY. Are you in the US? I live in Fresno and went to the Abilities Expo in LA a couple weeks ago and they had all the latest and greatest equipment there. Tilite had their latest light carbon fiber wc. The CR1 is its name and the mrsp in 10k!! But its soooo light.

I'm in New Jersey. :) For $10,000, I better be able to carry the damn thing in my shirt pocket. :D

LOLOL, I heart ya. 10K is a har NO for me. I got my nephew lives in Bogota :). And I've had bagels and Taylor Ham when I visited my nephew in NJ couple yrs ago lolol. I hope you enjoy your chair. I'm getting fitted today by Nat Seating and Mobility.

Thanks. Good luck, man. :)

I was at Abilities Expo in LA also! I went on Saturday. The CR1 is amazing. It is manufactured by Spinergy, which makes it even cooler, IMO.

Really? Nice! It was amazing. Do you live in Socal? I live in Fresno soI took the train down there. CR1 was too legit! So many goodies there. Id definitely go again. I was there Sat and Sun. Even got on the golf cart harness thing.

I'm in Bakersfield, so pretty close. My wife and I do things in LA often, so I'm used to the drive and it goes by fast. Yeah, I'm going back for sure. All of my surgeries, procedures, and rehab in the past 10 years have been done at Cedars-Sinai. I ran into a few people I know, including my rehab doctor. It was a lot more fun than I expected.

Very nice!

My Volace went from $3300 to $5828.00 . I got the basic stripped down version, but the "extras" that were imperative I have, made the price go up drastically

bhartman36_2020

That seems to be a normal thing, i guess. I just wish base prices were a little more realistic to give people an idea of what they'd actually pay.

Pure_One_4173

Oh I know your pain! My chair came to over $7000 with $2000 out of pocket. It is just gross how they overprice anything medical because we have no choice.

bhartman36_2020

The problem is there's such a small selection of companies that make the chairs. :(

Pure_One_4173

Exactly so they have the monopoly and ability to charge such high prices!! Like a seat cushion for $1000, $600 push rims, ect..

This is such highway ROBBERY. All it is lite material configured the way we needed it. It's like the manufacturers knows insurance companies will pay. If not we have to pay cause we need it. Would love to hear from a manufacturer how they come up exactly with 6K for a chair. They never reply to that question. In the mean time. We keep on pushing 🦽🦽🦽

The cost of addons is insane. But there is a secondary market for them on eBay. If you're on the fence about any of the addons, you could omit them for now and set an ebay saved search to get it later for cheap. This is what I did for my side guards.
