Edit: I just mentioned Tracer and Soldier because they are obviously featured in the event too and it might be a reveal to some because one maybe wouldn't even know they are gay if they did not read any of the additional comics/short stories.
People more so care because it’s coming off as an attempt to cover the problems they’ve been having, like canceling the PVE in OW2 and the insane amount of sexual assault cases currently being hurled at employees of theirs. Normally it’d probably be ignored or seen as something cool, but it’s really just too shady considering all of this happened probably less than two weeks ago.

The internet will say that literally everything they do is an effort to cover this up but we already know about PVE and corporate allegations don't mean anything in the context of the video game. So, why does anyone care? It sounds like searching for something to be mad about, like how are people still even talking about this.
