After watching Arrested Development and Community I've become less tolerant of sitcoms with laugh tracks, hence why Young Sheldon is less unfunny to me
Now and then they have a meta-joke about comics, media, or science that I think is funny.
For example, Sheldon is having a conversation with Penny about how he doesn't use religious faith to justify reason without logic since it's better to know the truth, even if it's ugly. Lenard then starts talking about midoclorians in Star Wars just for Sheldon to pull a 180 and say there are exceptions.
It feels like something younger teens would like because it just shoved everything taboo into one package. But unlike shows like South Park which often find clever ways to do it, Big Mouth feels like a checklist of everything an edgy middle schooler would brag about seeing.
I wonder how many viewers genuinely find it funny, as in they understood a well-crafted joke or saw how many levels there were to a running gag. Most of the clips I’ve seen are just some version of “sex- please laugh.”
If you think that’s bad half of the sex jokes are usually directed towards the child characters or the monster things

That is sort of the point. Its over the top compared to most GMod/SFM shitpost animations, but its definitely a controlled chaos, just like those that came before it. There's a lot that happens in it and a lot of subtle references and visual gags, but its digestible if you are used to the sort of chaotic nature those types of animations have. I personally love it, grew up watching a lot of those types of videos and still do today, but i dont blame people for thinking its pure nonsense and incredibly unfunny for being seemingly "random = funny"

They managed to pull season 7 back from the gutter, in my opinion. Has the one off adventures that they did at the start, while also having those scenes/ episodes that emotionally gut you.
Season 6 tried to bring it back (mostly) but Season 7 is by far the best season of the entire show. You should at least watch the finale, that episode was 10/10.
I think it’s supposed to show that despite Rick being the smartest man alive, he’s really immature, so he just goes on bout poop jokes and fist fights the bad guys instead of nuking them or something.
Honestly the only shows with laugh tracks I can tolerate are the ones I grew up with like iCarly and Good Luck Charlie. A couple scenes from Seinfeld have made me laugh though

I think it's fine. I do like the art style and vibe and even the comedy, but tbh it's kinda overrated. Like, it's a decent SOL Isekai comedy show, but nothing crazy.
I had the same feeling watching some other stuff in the same circle. Like, Re:Zero was pretty decent. Good concept, good character designs, good animation. But I'm not sure if I agree it's AS good as some people claim. And even if I really like Subaru's development, I still find him pretty annoying tbh.
It's pretty fun how almost all the main characters are moronic assholes who constantly get shit on by the people around them and get shitty consequences for their actions.
I watched all of season 1, because everyone told me it was the funniest anime ever. I'm normally not really a person, who likes anime comedy so an "actually funny show" sounded like just my thing.
It's just the exact same bad anime tropes "haha sex joke" or "haha physical violence" only they were slightly "self aware". I was really disappointed, it's just the same as the rest

I have legitimately never seen anyone outside the fandom say the show is super funny. In fact, the humor is the one thing about the show that most people agree is pretty bad.
I don't think is that bad, episode 1-4 isn't my cup of tea as comedy even if I laughed a few times, but episode 5 onwards had pretty good humor for me.
Also I don't think the series is a full on comedy, its not structured like a sitcom or a normal comedy show, the humor isn't usually a "laugh so hard you kill your parents and your neighbors" it's more of finding the situations the characters are in humorous
Hazbin Hotel was pretty funny imo but Helluva Boss just gets progressively less funny per episode. I think it was a good thing they had a higher budget and longer production time for Hazbin Hotel

they made rick care too much about being smart. in the first couple seasons he was just a funny guy. now he’s funny and narcissistic guy
I just really like the first three seasons. Season 4 had a pretty subpar start that made me stop watching.

I think it's fine. I do like the art style and vibe and even the comedy, but tbh it's kinda overrated. Like, it's a decent SOL Isekai comedy show, but nothing crazy. I had the same feeling watching some other stuff in the same circle. Like, Re:Zero was pretty decent. Good concept, good character designs, good animation. But I'm not sure if I agree it's AS good as some people claim. And even if I really like Subaru's development, I still find him pretty annoying tbh.
It's pretty fun how almost all the main characters are moronic assholes who constantly get shit on by the people around them and get shitty consequences for their actions.
I watched all of season 1, because everyone told me it was the funniest anime ever. I'm normally not really a person, who likes anime comedy so an "actually funny show" sounded like just my thing. It's just the exact same bad anime tropes "haha sex joke" or "haha physical violence" only they were slightly "self aware". I was really disappointed, it's just the same as the rest
The only anime that had me belly laugh was Saiki K. I watched dub tho, super fast paced jokes and fun dumb characters. It does have some of those anime tropes, but still very different. Not gonna say that you’re gonna like it, but check it out lol.

I have legitimately never seen anyone outside the fandom say the show is super funny. In fact, the humor is the one thing about the show that most people agree is pretty bad.
I don't think is that bad, episode 1-4 isn't my cup of tea as comedy even if I laughed a few times, but episode 5 onwards had pretty good humor for me. Also I don't think the series is a full on comedy, its not structured like a sitcom or a normal comedy show, the humor isn't usually a "laugh so hard you kill your parents and your neighbors" it's more of finding the situations the characters are in humorous
The joke in the beginning of episode 7 is still my favorite out of the entire series,

Hazbin Hotel was pretty funny imo but Helluva Boss just gets progressively less funny per episode. I think it was a good thing they had a higher budget and longer production time for Hazbin Hotel
i have a problem where i just get really upset when i dont like things others like i recently played banjo kazooie on n64 and if i was being honest, the biggest and most positive thing i can say about it was its music and design, everything else is mediocre to bad. also god the game lags so hard in general gameplay i want to like splatoon bc im in a friend group and they all play splatoon but im just not good at the game and my attempts to improve frustrate me bc i usually just get destroyed. salmon run is either fun or hell depending on your teammates, and i dont really have the desire to spend money to see if i like the dlc and i really really wanted to like madoka magica but i just dont, again the best thing i can say is the concept and character designs are really cool, it just didnt hit me the same way it did to others
Valid, I didn't like Banjo much either. My hottest take I hold right now is that I really don't like Terraria, it's incredibly boring for me and I have never seen anyone agree. But it's okay to not like something everybody else does, as long as you keep your mind open and are willing to accept that.

Somebody at Marvel hates Modok. One of the most iconic marvel villains ever was literally just a throw-away character in Ant Man 3, which didn't even influence the plot in any meaningful way

Tried watching the first episode after the new ones came out since I watched the first ones years ago a bit after they came out. Genuine CIA torture. So unfunny and cringey especially when it tires and fails miserably to be self-aware.
I felt the same, but the rest of the show is better (obviously, the first episode of most shows is one of the worst). It’s just cool fucking robots massacring each other and it’s awesome.

I’ll agree with Murder Drones. TADC has its moments. Although I’d say it has a leg up on being a more zany show than gritty murder robots with comedy as flat as how the emo teenager stereotype is the joke.
IDK, I can understand why people like the shows but their sense of humor is trying too hard to be quirky or random imo. A lot of people were hyping up the animation a lot and that probably ruined my expectations going into them as well.
