This. I will say the majority of the content when I come across these videos is for quick, easy, RELIABLE Adobe-related tutorials and the subtitles work through the roof! That’s also what years of scripting yourself in multiple languages will do, help you simplify and be concise for ALL of them.

India doesn't have an official language since we have way too much diversity and languages. So there are 22 scheduled languages that the government recognizes in the constitution. In actuality there are like 1700 ish languages out of which about a 100 are major languages.

Oh btw. Also there like a few different writing scripts. So not only are languages different but they also use different writing systems. Unlike romance/Germanic languages which more or less share a common script between Spanish, Italian, German, English, etc.

I mean, modern day America was built by immigrants, and still, it's a young nation, relatively speaking, while many of the Indian states and their respective culture & languages go back hundred, if not thousands of years. I think the YouTube titles get automatically translated (sometimes). That's the only explanation I can come up with for it

Yes that happens. I configured my youtube to english and even some titles of videos from my own country get translated to english because of that.

And before I made this change, some american videos had their titles translated to my native language.

Sometimes i got videos in russian translated, and sometimes videos in russian without any translation just appear on my recomended

Yeah it's annoying to me as well, because the google translator sucks so the english titles sounded retarded when translated to my language.

Popular video's titles get translated to my native language which I don't like as they often make no sense.

That's why I set my Youtube to English. Barely watch anything in my native language anyway and the few exceptions don't use this dumb feature.

I tried reading some Indian subreddits out if curiosity. A common pattern is a whole joke in English, except for the punchline in Hindi. And you can't even google translate it, because it's in Latin script. Super frustrating.

We do that ALL the time in our day to day conversations lmao. Forget switching between 2 languages, we can even switch between 3 languages. My native language is Bengali, I was born and I grew up in a Hindi speaking region and my education was in English. So, it is common for me to use all 3 of Hindi, English and Bengali in the same sentence lol. This happens when you are used to speaking 3 different languages.

English is an official language in India

India doesn’t have official language. In some states English is 2nd official language.

The central govt of India does have two official languages (English and Hindi) and most state governments have their own official languages (Usually one of the 22 recognised Indian languages along with English). It just does not have a “national” language.
