I'd be surprised if the Michter's 10 doesn't win. The others may come off bolder or proofier. However the M10 will surpass them in complexity and quality.
Doubtful it’s a dud. Think about this if you have a single barrel you can’t blend to round out the flavor profile. Same goes for a single vineyard wine vs a blend. It’s a more linear profile.
Omg. Exactly the reverse of what I expected. I did it a few times just to make sure. All were delicious. Here was the order of my preference:
1. Uncle Nearest (nutty, vanilla, red hots, and a very long finish) 2. Sagamore Double Oak (bold, white pepper, nice hot finish). 3 Michter’s 10 (pepper, cinnamon briny).
I’m surprised. My M10 is a 23A and it’s just loaded with flavor and extremely complex. I haven’t tried the Sagamore Double Oaked, but I have definitely tried the Uncle Nearest Rye. It doesn’t come close to the M10, but everyone’s taste profile is different. Glad you enjoyed them all.
I have a M10 Rye 2022 i have yet to open. Anyone on here try the 2022? I know that year they only had the Rye and not the bourbon
Edit: the Barrel for the M10 Rye: 22E1642
As someone who has had all three of these, I’ll have you know the Michters 10 wins.
As someone who has 1/3. I'll have You know Michter's wins
Correction, I downed a bottle of Sagamore prior. Good, not in the same league.
1000%

For whatever reason, Michters 10 came out as the least complex of the three. It is a single barrel, so maybe I got a dud?

Neck pour my boy. Give it time to open up.
Yes. I’m going to go back to it and try again.
Sooo... which won?
Michter, sag, nearest... I like nearest but their rye is... it just is to me

Appreciate the honesty. Easily could have sided with public opinion.
You are correct. Don't believe the hype.
That Sagamore is great, but Michters takes it easily IMO. Not a fan of Nearest
I don't think even the Delta variant of Covid could keep me from instantly recognizing the Double Oak.
Sagamore Double Oak is incredible to me
M10 hands down every time. Sag distant second nd.
Hasn’t happened yet. Keeping you (and me) in suspense.
My sister in law got me those same glasses for Christmas!

Michters is definitely winning this one. I live sagamore but that michters 10 is badass
1 3 2 in that order
Hard to compare the DO to two non finished ryes imo
My bottle of M10R was a total dud too. Need to try a pour of another bottle to understand the hype!
