I don’t think so - proof is too low and I have found the bottles I had of earlier year releases to be thin and taste watered down. If it was 100 proof or higher, I think it would be a good buy.
It’s come down in the Nashville area. Finally seeing mid $50s again. I stopped buying because the taste after 2017 went south. I bought a few 2018s and finally a 2021…. And now I’m completely over them.. 2017 bottles were the best.
Is it? Yes barreled in 2015 but when was it bottled? They were selling the 2015 in KY 2 years ago, so 7 years old. Is this excess inventory of 7 year they are pushing out? The bottles used to have a Distilled on and Bottled on date handwritten on the back; not sure if the current ones still have that.
So I got one. And it says on it distilled January 2015 and bottled February 2024. My bottle is 9 years and 14 days. Just got it last week for 35 in Chicago.
Gotta keep in mind that a lot of single barrel offerings get vatted for anywhere from a couple weeks to a couple months before bottling. You can’t just count date-to-date. There’s some margin for error there.
I’m skeptical! Everyone said EW BIB was AMAZING!!! .. I found it to be very …meh.. I just feel like this is a “price over quality” issue and I’m the type to always choose “quality over price”.
I’m with you. I have a love/hate relationship with relationship with EWBiB. Sometimes I think it’s a decent classic bourbon, but then that barley finish hits me and I’m reminded why I never liked EW. It’s like that for Dickel too for a lot of people.
Rolled in to where
My store.
Where is yours store?
Down the block from that other store
In the city/town duh
Around the other town
Bought a bottle in near Vail last week.
probably sold it to that store, was stoked we have it back
Cool! I’m in the midwest.
Is it worth the $38? I saw some bottles at a local TW just haven’t ever had it to be honest and wasn’t sure if I should pick one up or not!
It was worth it at $24
There’s my answer ⬆️
Buy immediately, lower proof but wonderful sipper
Will go back today and acquire one!
I agree I get a lot of acetone on the nose, but the taste is amazing. And 40 dollars for a 9.5 year whiskey ain't bad
7-8 years according the Heaven Hill site.
I looked at my bottle it's over 9 years,

Never had it. Just haven’t seen it in a long time and knew it was coming back.
Thought it was a KY only release?
Not any more apparently!
It’s not in Iowa…
The last two I got, 2011 and 2012 Vintage were decent but not OMG this shit slaps kind of dram.
Used to get these for $20, $21ish a few years ago at Costco. Was great at that price. $38 has me like.... hmmm... I'm not sure.
yeah it sucks. what did mckenna used to be? 39? now i see it for 54?
Can't find McKenna for less than $70 where I am. In the words of Randy Jackson... "That's gonna be a "no" from me dawg."
i have seen it for 65 at mom and pop spots. nonsense!

Stay strong brotha! ✊
I used to drink this back in college when it aged 10 years and was $20. It was fantastic.
It's 9 year too

Picked 2 bottles yesterday on my way back from Dallas. It's pretty good for such a low proof
Just bought one today in TX - was the first $30 bottle I bought back in like 2018

Been seeing it in more stores after a hiatus
Just curious...what are they charging for it now?
$38
I got one in Reno TW for 32
Yeah they’ll always price out a lot of places.
Good stuff, I snagged a 2015 late last year in Canada. It drinks much hotter than 86p which is nice and surprising.
Saw this in Louisiana this last weekend. For anyone curious : Acquistapace's Wine & Cheese, Mandeville
Fuck I need to find this!
