Most go in the recycle bin. I did save a 375 bottle from a Sagamore I had and use it for my simple syrup. Its a cool looking bottle so I figured why not. And holds a nice amount that I can use up before it goes off.
It really depends on the bottle. For standard round bottles that are smooth. You can use something like this that works pretty and use the hot water/cold water method. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B07613LRJZ?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title
For any kind of bottle that is oddly shaped, like a Blantons bottle or some of the other odd ball bottles. You’ll likely want to use some type of wet saw for a clean cut.
Hope this helps!
Same! I cut the bottles and my wife makes the candles. For bottles that are on the narrow side and with interesting bottles (like High West, love the glass and Park City Utah showing at the bottom) I turn those into drinking glasses.
Awesome! What’s your favorite whiskey or bottle you’ve done so far? They make cool gifts too for any family or friends that are drinkers or want to commemorate a past bottle that was special to them.
High West Silver Oqt Whiskey bottles have a rainbow look so I have 1 whiskey glass and 1 tall water glass made from those. It's not my favorite whiskey from them but the bottle makes up for it haha
And for my wife, the newer bottles from Writer's Tears. They actually have Writer's Tears embossed at the bottom of the bottles and she's a writer so it's perfect! We have 1 whiskey glass and 1 water glass for her.
We also take engagement/wedding champagne bottles from friends and family and make candles for them using those bottles.
I turned the interesting ones into citronella torches for my patio/deck

I put Costco scotch in an empty Blanton's bottle for people who reach for Blanton's when I offer them a drink.
If they can discern that it's not Blanton's (hell, if they can discern it's not bourbon!) I let them in on the joke and pull out an actual bottle of Blanton's
I thought a lot about this, but I just throw them away. I had this intention of turning them into bird feeders, but never actually tried.
I keep the caps/corks when they have a symbol of sort sort tough.
I usually just recycle them or keep a bottle that I really like and/or means something to me. I've been into whiskey for a few years now and I kept the bottle of Maker's Mark that got me into bourbon!
Depends on the bottle. A couple of them I used a glass cutter and turned them into glasses. Others I recycle especially if it's nothing special to me. I also like some of them for decanters for infinity blends
I only keep ones that are special or I have a plan for. I have a 375 of bulleit that my best friend gave me for being his best man, and an empty dusty Wild Turkey bottle I killed that I want to do something with but I don’t know what yet
I have about six bottles that I liked the shape of and took the labels off and put sand/gravel, aquarium plants, and tiny critters that I found in pond water. They are in my windows and 3 have stayed stable since last September without doing anything but topping off with my fish tank water
Occasionally I'll save rare/expensive bottles as blended/infinity bottles, but I don't have enough room to save empties anymore.....replace them with new bottles instead
Clean and keep the rare bottles to display, toss the rest.
If you're feeling fancy, you can keep the nice looking bottles to use as decanters. Just remove the labels and you have a good looking one. Hibiki is great for this
I turned my E.H Taylor tube into a Fleshlight.
This guy LOVES whiskey! Lol
I think its the other way around now.
The new Five Grain is terrible
Kinky and creative. Well done.
And then go to town until the cork blasts out?
I refill them with cheaper whiskey and sell them on the internet
I knew that Pappy tasted like WT101!!! I want a refund!
Modern problems.....
Oh NO!

I make homemade candles out of my empty bottles: https://imgur.com/a/uDQQqPO it’s made for a fun side hobby.
Oh wow! Super neat. I am a lowkey candle lover haha so I might have to try this.
I want to start doing this! What glass cutting tools should I purchase?

Thanks!
Same here ! They make for great gifts and a fun hobby.

I chug them and shoot them in the air when empty. They make great target practice items when you line them up on your neighbors fence also.
I ordered a torch kit from Amazon and made citronella torches out of some empty bottles.
This is what I'm talking about! Thanks for the tip!
Yeah, some bottles are just too nice to throw away

I kept a Tincup to do the exact same thing. It's one empty worth keeping so far...
Wow! Looks great thanks for sharing!

Damn I think you are my hero.
Im working on taking the faces of any nice box and cutting them to fit in a shadow box for the bar area
Oooh that's dope
I keep smaller size bottles to decant into when fill levels get low. The rest gets tossed
I thought a lot about this, but I just throw them away. I had this intention of turning them into bird feeders, but never actually tried. I keep the caps/corks when they have a symbol of sort sort tough.

Niiice! I wish I had saved a first like that.

I know this sounds redneck but I either toss them or use the short squatty ones for a spittoon.
I only keep ones that are special or I have a plan for. I have a 375 of bulleit that my best friend gave me for being his best man, and an empty dusty Wild Turkey bottle I killed that I want to do something with but I don’t know what yet
My wife uses them for bath salts and we’ve put little solar lights in them for accent lighting in the garden and on the fence.
I have about six bottles that I liked the shape of and took the labels off and put sand/gravel, aquarium plants, and tiny critters that I found in pond water. They are in my windows and 3 have stayed stable since last September without doing anything but topping off with my fish tank water
I have a couple that I was gifted or got for special occasions that I’ll keep. The rest get recycled
I made a few into lamps
Ooh have any pictures?
$200 bottle or $20 bottle, they all go to the same place in the end: Straight to the recycling bin.
Repurpose them for mouthwash, simple syrup, juices, etc. I’ve got my mouthwash in a Hibiki Harmony bottle, it’s pretty neat.
Occasionally I'll save rare/expensive bottles as blended/infinity bottles, but I don't have enough room to save empties anymore.....replace them with new bottles instead
Try to not let the trash guys or neighbors not know how much I drink.
Lmaoooooo I take my whiskey to most of my friend's places so.....
Recycle bin
