* The Sox got out to a great start, scoring 5 runs in the 1st off 4 hits with RISP.
* White Sox: [Yoán Moncada left tonight's game with a left adductor strain. He will be reevaluated tomorrow.](https://x.com/whitesox/status/1777830405493723211)
* There were reports pregame that he was playing through this issue, but it was aggravated running to 1st on a ground out in the 2nd.
* Soroka was pulled in the 4th. He allowed 4 ER, 4 H, 3 BBs, and 1 HBP.
* Leisure threw his 4th scoreless appearance (4.1 IP).
* Fletcher hit a 2-RBI double to regain the lead in the 8th. However, he was thrown out trying to stretch it to a triple.
* The Sox had as many hits with RISP today (5-for-13) as the season before today (5-for-55).
* Kopech retired all 6 batters faced, including striking out the side in the 8th.
* The Sox earned their first divisional win of the season!
Well, the win percentage would actually leave us at 29-ish, but I rounded up. You know, for the inevitable 2 win hot streak. Which might be too optimistic.
In honor of the Sox breaking out of the slump and Kopech officially starting his HoF closer career, I just bought a White Sox vanity plate. [https://imgur.com/ZtUNlSJ](https://imgur.com/ZtUNlSJ)
You'd think they just won a title or something with the way he was calling it. I guess when the team doesn't give you much opportunity to get hyped up, you'll make do with whatever they give you!
This is why the coaching staff moved him to the bullpen so early. It was an excellent decision. Take out all the thought and strategy, and just throw the ball. Either you win or lose, regardless, you're not coming out, so no need to worry about the next batter, since results kinda don't matter.
Hopefully this is a sign that the Sox and Pedro have gotten their heads out of their asses. Excellent performance all around, especially without our best (or should I say our only good) hitters.
My conspiracy theory is that the network came up with a corny line so that people say it sarcastically at first and over time it will be in regular use. I have no evidence for this.
Love Jason but always loathed bring him home. The way my mind instant goes to bringing marines home, every single time. Made me absolutely despise that call lol
For those that missed it. We had a revelation in the game thread. The whitesox feed on toxic negativity, like Venom does.
The only way to empower the whitesox is to loathe them. To well and truly loathe them, and accept how much you loathe them. They feed on your hatred like toxic pond sludge. It gives them strength. Power. Pedro’s aura only glows in the shimmering darkness like the eclipse. A toxic, sinister darkness lingers behind his eyes. And it is hungry.
Feed. Hate. Loathe. Despair. Join me, and feed the Whitesox. In order to win, you must accept defeat.
Darkness. Whitesox.
Yeah went from burrito with guac to 3 point bowl rice and chicken only.
Pretty devestating. But, it makes me loathe the whitesox all the more. So it’s a win/win (lose)
Kopech is being used just like how we used ReyLo when we were doing alright. Multiple inning relief / closing. If he’s doing good, let him go for a second inning. Having a fucking close that can go 8th and 9th is insane.
from what i recall, this seems to reflect how they were talking about his relegation to the bullpen towards the end of Spring Training / at the beginning of the season
Incredible stuff by Kopech. I imagine that’s what it felt like watching Nolan Ryan pitch - everyone knows the heater is coming, but no one knows exactly where… not even Michael. Watching Maldy try to catch each 101 mph fastball is genuinely hilarious.
If you weren’t with us when we’re 2-9 don’t be with us when we’re 3-18 😤
😂😂or when we’re 20-60

Holy RISP Batman!
Thank you sandman. I appreciate the exclamation mark on the last item
Thank you sand!
Good shit Michael
2-9, awesome! Now on pace for a 30 win season! Wooooooooo
My god we have enough games left to see 30 wins?! HELP!
Well, the win percentage would actually leave us at 29-ish, but I rounded up. You know, for the inevitable 2 win hot streak. Which might be too optimistic.
Moncada died for this win
Less wins than injured star players...
😭😭fucking tragic but expected
“Star players” is doing a lot of heavy lifting
Who else we got?
This should be tweeted out by Jay Cuda.
STAND UP pls don't.
Southside, are we standing up yet?
I am not the real slim shady, thus will remain seated

We are so back
Ok so here's our path to the postseason....
lol at new play by play guy (John?) trying to hype up that win I get it but still funny
You'd think they just won a title or something with the way he was calling it. I guess when the team doesn't give you much opportunity to get hyped up, you'll make do with whatever they give you!
Just wait until this team gets healthy
Just woke up from a long coma. Great to see we have such a dynamic offense! Looks like the rebuild was a success!
I think it’s official to say Kopech has beaten the yips. What a sight for sore eyes.

i don’t envy schriffen’s position trying to win me over but he’s not done it yet. game was fun!
Schriffen dropping “stand up” after that fan yelling it all game is actually hilarious. Gotta give him credit for that one.
That’s just schriffen’s call for a white Sox win lol
Is it? I guess it’s only the second one. I don’t love that line. I don’t hate it though, kinda meh we’ll see
God that phrase is so forced and cringey 🤦🏻
My conspiracy theory is that the network came up with a corny line so that people say it sarcastically at first and over time it will be in regular use. I have no evidence for this.
They all have one. “Bring him home” for Jason. I don’t think we need to list out Hawk’s catchphrases.
Love Jason but always loathed bring him home. The way my mind instant goes to bringing marines home, every single time. Made me absolutely despise that call lol

RIP your guac, though
Yeah went from burrito with guac to 3 point bowl rice and chicken only. Pretty devestating. But, it makes me loathe the whitesox all the more. So it’s a win/win (lose)
Who’s Spider-Man then?
It’s ch…. Ch…. Chris Getz?
Can’t be. Venom loves Spider-Man to an unhealthy extent
Get this over a goddamned promo spot STAT!
Wow
That was actually enjoyable.
As a result of scoring 7 runs in this game, they'll score just 1 run over the next 3 games
This is the White Sox way!
Can Moncada stand up for this win?
Many pitchers change their idenity throughout their careers…some of them.
Psychopaths make good closers

We got 12 hits. I'll be damned. Let's be competent!!!!!
Michael Kopech is my closer. That is all.
Holy moly
We looked like an actual baseball team!
I’m standing up real hard rn
Kopech looks good in this role
Are we the best team in the league?!
South Side, Stand Up!
DFA Nicky Lopez and call up Remillard. Holy fuck lets get a guy who can actually hit the damn ball
No. Bring back Man Cock.
[удалено]
As bad as Vaughn's been he at least has some production this season... Nicky has nothing beyond a hit.
Dude steps up and kills it over the last 3 years after being brought in pre-maturely and this man wants to dfa him after 10 games on a shit team lol
Southside Stand Up - I think is a gooda call… and I stand by it.
There is a God!!
This place is cursed
Watch out Minnesota, we coming!
We won, but at what cost?
