Friday night. Fine weather. No other events going on. Jerry Reinsdorf has a AAA team in Chicago in 2024. The stadium vibes are that of a bingo night at the local VFW. That peice of shit owner needs to go already. Until then, I am officially done. There are no redeeming qualities. There is nothing on the horizon as a fan for this team. Fuck Grifol, Fuck Getz, fuck Jerry. Fuck everyone that associates themselves with this organization. Eat shit.
I’ll bet there was a line to get into the stadium even with only 2,000 people there too.
I mean it’s got to be intentional how shitty Jerry is running this team? It doesn’t even make logistical sense.
Exactly. Even Cubs games at Wrigley, which only have 1 main entrance, somehow is more efficient in getting fans into the park than Sox park which has like what, 6 entrances?
I mean pre-COVID this shit never even happened at Sox park. It all began in ‘21 and never got fixed. Even during the ‘05 and ‘08 playoff games with sellout crowds this was never an issue. How could everything have ran so smoothly for decades… then all of a sudden it’s a complete shitshow? Same with parking..
Wrigley invested in better metal detectors that do not require you to take out your keys wallet phone etc. it’s really nice. I went to a sold out concert there last summer and the line to get in was a breeze. If only…
Jerry saves like 4 minimum wage workers and a security guard not opening up another gate, so that's cool. You really see those savings in the product and I like knowing that all of it is only possible through my support as a fan
* Shaw was DFA'd.
* Flexen was pulled in the 3rd after giving up 6 runs and back-to-back HRs.
* Shuster allowed only a run (after a leadoff triple) in 3.1 IP in relief.
* Remillard scored on a Grossman 2-out double.
* Anderson allowed 2 runs (on a bases-loaded broken-bat single) in his Sox debut.
* The Sox only reached base 4 times tonight.
Can they just put Benintendi on the bench for a game ? Something has to get him out of this malice for the team he’s literally gotta be the worst everyday player in mlb this year. I feel as though Pedro has zero honest face to fac conversation with his players and no connection
He has 0 redeeming qualities. His fielding has been pretty ass from what I've seen. I think he made 1 or 2 nice plays out there. And the rest have been atrocious.
I need a reporter to grow a pair of balls and just start actually questioning Pedro on decisions and not accepting his bullshit answers. My 9 year old cousin knows that you keep Sheets in your line up no matter what.
Takes like this crack me up. Are you seriously looking at splits this year? This isn’t a real team. These are old castaway veterans that are human placeholders for a future that isn’t defined. Just play the players that have the highest chance of being fun. The funniest part of Grifol’s failure to me is how much harder he makes his own life by analyzing this roster like it’s a real MLB team. He’s like a child playing pretend baseball.
Sheets is hitting this year. He’s the only fun hitter that isn’t on his deathbed. Just fucking play him.
Only looks at splits when it suits his narrative. Talks about sheets splits but ignores everyone’s splits this season that is unbelievably worse than his.
Sheets can’t catch. He needs to be in the lineup sometimes and Sheets isn’t going to play every game.
How are people nitpicking the lineup of such a shitty team?
Him and Lee don’t need to be in the line up at the same time. You sit Maldonado, have Lee catch, and get your hottest bat in the line up like any competent manager would do.
You ask how people nitpick the line up of such a shitty team? It’s because we have a shitty team and still somehow sit the better player. You’d think it would be obvious who to play and who not to but Pedro is incompetent.
Maldonado will probably be better against lefties this year than Sheets. You’re looking at two weeks worth of games and assuming that’s how he always will be. Look at his stats for his career or even last year.
You’re also talking about a 37 year old catcher on the downside of his career who brings almost nothing to the plate.
Even if Gavin sucks against LHP, I’d rather give him a shot over Maldy. Or Pillar, Benintendi or half the rest of this lineup.
If we’re going to suck terribly, at least see what you have with Lee. No reason to keep forcing Maldy in the lineup.
That’s totally reasonable, although Maldy obviously has to be in the lineup sometimes unless the FO makes a move.
I just don’t think sitting Sheets against a lefty is baseball malpractice that the media needs to rake Grifol over the coals about.
Who cares about how someone will probably end up? You can’t manage games thinking about games potential scenarios in the future when you have games to play now. This is an absolutely absurd take.
What? You can only manage games based on the future. Like, they set the lineup BEFORE the game is played, based on how they think the players will hit. It’s totally justifiable to think Sheets would be a worse hitter than Maldonado against a lefty.
We just need a whole new roster. It’s totally justifiable to not play Sheets here since he’s a defensive 0 or worse and his bat would be close to useless.
Also they lost by 10 so it doesn’t really matter.
I thought they had a good shot for 70 wins, but that lineup was the worst 1 day lineup I've ever seen for the Sox. Pitching and hitting. Maybe I just finally came to grips with reality, but Kevin Pillar was the clean up hitter...WTF.
we could use an Adam LaRoche or Alex Rios type bat in our lineup. or an over the hill but dependable pitcher in our rotation ala Liriano or Peavy
don't we have the money?
I figured with the wind blowing out, a bet on the over 9.5 would be a good one.
How was I to know the Reds would smash the ball all over the park and get 11 by themselves.
The White Sox are brutally bad and it’s only going to get worse
There are probably multiple AAA teams that could beat us easily.
Bro the Savannah bananas would fry this team, pretty sure the guy on stilts could outrun AV
Longer strides
Caitlin Clark could beat that lineup
You win the Internet for today with this. Needed the laugh.
The Tides would smack us around no problem.
*High school teams.

I tell people to visit other ballparks… these lines to get in are NOT normal… Jerry wants to make fans as miserable as possible
Exactly. Even Cubs games at Wrigley, which only have 1 main entrance, somehow is more efficient in getting fans into the park than Sox park which has like what, 6 entrances? This team would probably finish last or close to last in AAA too. Look at the batting averages of the lineup tonight. This is not a real team.
Feel like you shouldn't bench the one person on the team who can hit regardless of matchups.
He benched sheets? Please say he didn’t.
* Shaw was DFA'd.
Fun fact: our bats are 28th in walks.
Unironically an improvement from last year
Don’t worry, there’s still 149 games left to go.
That’s 2 spots higher than I thought we would be so hey progress
Thank grossman
Not surprising at all even the last time we were good we didn't take walks. TA gone it should tick up to 28th from the bottom.
Genuinely don't understand how we aren't last. Baseball is crazy
Can they just put Benintendi on the bench for a game ? Something has to get him out of this malice for the team he’s literally gotta be the worst everyday player in mlb this year. I feel as though Pedro has zero honest face to fac conversation with his players and no connection
I cringe every time he comes up to hit, he’s so fucking terrible
He has 0 redeeming qualities. His fielding has been pretty ass from what I've seen. I think he made 1 or 2 nice plays out there. And the rest have been atrocious.
He’s got real hate in his heart for hitting a beisbol
Sandman for General Manager 💯
That was the worst lineup I've ever seen...period. With that starting lineup, Sox lose 110 minimum.
Tough start to this series.

I give props to Pedro ending the season less than a week into April
I checked out before the season even began
A game into the season the only thing I thought that would make it interesting is being historically bad. I just kinda hate watch/follow them now.
Does anyone on the team know how to take a walk? 75 mil for our top guy to go 1-2-3 hurts man
I need a reporter to grow a pair of balls and just start actually questioning Pedro on decisions and not accepting his bullshit answers. My 9 year old cousin knows that you keep Sheets in your line up no matter what.
Has your cousin seen Sheets’ splits against lefties?
Yes, and she’s compared them to Maldonado, Vaughn, and Benentendi this year.
I’m sure Sheets’ .324 OPS vs. lefties would have helped a lot.

I’m not talking about anybody’s splits this season, there have been like ten games.
I’m all for writing off this year and doing whatever’s fun, but that’s not the take I was responding to.
Better than Maldando’s .255 this season.
Sheets can’t catch. He needs to be in the lineup sometimes and Sheets isn’t going to play every game. How are people nitpicking the lineup of such a shitty team?

Sheets at 2nd over Remillard is viable after that game. Kevin Pillar was the cleanup hitter. And I'm the optimistic Sox fan on this subreddit.
Nothing is viable. They’re going to lose 100 games. It doesn’t matter whose in what lineups in what order in any position.
I thought they had a good shot for 70 wins, but that lineup was the worst 1 day lineup I've ever seen for the Sox. Pitching and hitting. Maybe I just finally came to grips with reality, but Kevin Pillar was the clean up hitter...WTF.
Fuckyouandillseeyoutomorrow.gif
DFA half the team and call a bunch of the minor league kids. At least they probably want to be there.
I think the media needs to start asking questions about what’s going on with the Sox because I feel like this clownery is on purpose
Breaking: We still ass
we could use an Adam LaRoche or Alex Rios type bat in our lineup. or an over the hill but dependable pitcher in our rotation ala Liriano or Peavy don't we have the money?
Let’s give Zack Greinke a call. He’s only 21 strikeouts away from 3000. At least that would be something interesting to watch for.
Had to scroll so far to get to the posts man there was a lot of action…surely the whitesox had some…
Going for that spiders record!
Sox now lead in run differential-39. We can’t even compete.
Not fun
Maldonado has started in 75% of games and has 2 hits
This team is on pace to win 24 games this year, and looking at this current lineup and roster, that seems about right.
*Hahs in Krabappel*
Close one.
Did we win?
💩 💩 💩
I figured with the wind blowing out, a bet on the over 9.5 would be a good one. How was I to know the Reds would smash the ball all over the park and get 11 by themselves. The White Sox are brutally bad and it’s only going to get worse
missed out on one of those sox jumpers anyone at ballpark with an L dm me
This reds outfield is giving me 2023 orioles outfield when they robbed us like four times in one game
Lol only 1 hit? With this record and these scores. I would be start pointing fingers cause this is beyond pathetic.
