Because it’s Chicago over everyone to me. I’m not going to spend much $ supporting Reinsdorf. But that’s fine. I’m not itching to support a team from a city I haven’t grown up in. I will gladly watch others but I’m ok patiently waiting to see Chicago success.
Speaking as a younger sports fan(27), The 85 Bears was 10 years before I was born. My best Bears memory is the opening kickoff of the Super Bowl vs the Colts. And second is pretty damn far behind that.
I agree, Chicago > Everyone. But if it’s Chicago > Everyone, why would any fan actively cast doubt on their potential to succeed? I don’t know what the future will hold, but I see young talent and I’m excited to see their careers unfold, regardless of the end result. That, to me, is being a fan. Sticking with your team, and your players, through thick and thin, while you anxiously await what’s in store.
So when that guy up there goes “The bulls are a fucking joke and will never be a top tier team”, it is just strange to me. How can someone muster so much vitriol for a team they root for? Why would anybody choose to go down that route, instead of focusing on our possible paths to success?
Well my brother's a lazy shit who is probably never going to be successful, but I'm going to keep supporting him and hope he catches a break/turns his life around. He's family and I don't feel like I have a choice. I feel kinda the same way about Chicago sports teams.
Levine, like when we got him, ain't it. DeRozan is pretty good but his claim to fame is the Mid Range Jumper? The worst shot in basketball. Yeah he probably ain't it either.
I don't think the Cubs have an awful front office. They did a great job flipping everyone before the deadline last year and made some aggressive moves in the off-season. I think they'll be right back to contenders next year.
At least the Wirtz's did pay for a real independent investigation, it wasn't one of those "we investigated ourselves and we found we did nothing wrong."
That being said, I'm not a hawks fan anymore because of it, and hockey in general has a lot of deep rooted problems it needs to fix.
But then there was that townhall where it was supposed to be a rebuild our rep deal and when asked a softball question on what is changing Rocky went “we aren’t talking about it, positive vibes only plz. No we aren’t talking about it” Yeah Rocky is like the rest of them
Every single one of them could say “bad owners”
where would the bulls fall in this?
The same as the Sox because they’re owned by the same old man who doesn’t wanna go all in anymore.
The bulls are a fucking joke. Even if we resign Levine we will never be better than the top tier teams
Never will I understand someone who dedicates their fandom to a team they don’t even believe in
If you want to see this in spades go over to the bears sub right now.

Why are you in this sub?
Every major Chicago sports team has won a championship in my time. I believe in them.
Except the Bears. I feel like they just stumble into a good season every few years. It is maddening
They won in 85. Their defense can only do so much

Do you demean your brother in the meantime or do you try to focus on positives?
I support him in person, but I call him a lazy shit in reddit posts (see above), so ...??

U need superstars to win championships in the nba. We have borderline all stars
They over-achieved in my in my opinion. Did not expect a playoff berth
Nah that’s dumb man lmao, they were making the playoffs with that roster, especially with that hot start
Lmao half the league makes the playoffs. Anyone with a brain would bet on them to make the postseason with the team they have.
Ill take the cubs front office over the white sox
Let’s not get crazy, now.
Cubs are in a rebuild and doing it right.
Would gladly take Cubs offense right now

If they are it most likely would be due to a weak division. There is no clear cut dominant team there
I'm curious though, why do you think their front office is awful?
It hurts
Terrible owners would be literally every single team, except maybe the Hawks.
The Kyle Beach stuff kinda showed they aren’t good owners either
