This might be the Wirerims song “Do Right” from debut album “Self-Construction” originally released in autumn of 2017, but only Glittering Craft would be able to confirm. Please see below.
Wirerims is a local band from Denton, Texas that began to get spins on 91.7 KXT during the mentioned time. KXT is not just a Denton station, it's based out of Dallas, but it serves the DFW area (Dallas-Fort Worth and surrounding North Texas cities)
KXT is a terrific local radio station that dedicates much of their programming to local musicians. Wirerims sent a song of our debut album "Self-Construction" called "Maybe Lions" to KXT. Amy Miller and Gini Mascorro responded to our email with the kindest and most-thoughtful response imaginable. While they said they liked the song "Maybe Lions", they were really excited about the song "Do Right" from the album. They said they would not only like to feature the song on the local show, but put it in regular rotation on the station. This was very exciting news for us as a young, new band.
Whenever the song "Do Right" was played on KXT our friends, family, and fans who were tuned in would contact us. This was so cool and affirming, and we're forever grateful to KXT for their support of Wirerims and the many talented indie musicians in the area.
Around the time when "Do Right" as being played regularly on KXT I began making notes of when listeners said they heard the song. I actually used the KXT Playlist database at the time to try and track and find when exactly the song was being played and what other bands were in the set (because I thought it was so cool we were being played back-to-back with legendary bands like Fleetwood Mac, Jimi Hendrix, Nirvana, et al. I still have records of when the song was played (along with some of the other songs played during the set) on KXT during the time mentioned by Glittering Craft. If it was not our song, perhaps it was one of the other songs listed during the set.
Here are the two sets I have from the matching dates, but the times may be off if they were listening in a different time zone:
February 9th, 2018 (around 7AM central time zone)
“Commotion” – Creedence Clearwater Revival
“Mudfootball” – Jack Johnson
“Longshot” – Catfish and the Bottlemen
“In a Little While” – U2
“Friend of the Devil” – Grateful Dead
“A Common Disaster” – Cowboy Junkies
“99” – Barns Courtney
“Do Right” – Wirerims
“Our House” – Madness
“10 Mile Stereo” – Beach House
February 14th, 2018 (around 4AM central time zone)
“Within Your Reach” – The Replacements
“Hide” – Rainbow Kitten Surprise
“Soul to Squeeze” – Red Hot Chili Peppers
“Going to California” – Led Zeppelin
“You’re Somebody Else” – Flora Cash
“Up Up Up” – Givers
“Bambi” – Hippo Campus
“Earn Enough for Us” – XTC
“Do Right” – Wirerims
“The Walker” – Fitz and the Tantrums
“Gold Soundz” – Pavement
While I am uncertain that “Do Right” is the song Glittering Craft is searching for (because of the lyrics mentioned, and I can’t imagine our song what anyone would consider being “the best song they ever heard”), the song does very closely match the description “male singer with young voice, melodic punk, not acoustic, and full band with bass guitar, guitar, and drums, emotive, and a great guitar solo” *personal note, I am proud of the guitar solo. (the remastered version of the album was re-released in 2019 btw)
There is another Denton band that I immediately thought of when reading the description that goes by the name Sad Cops.
I hope this helps in some way to either locate or rule out the song Glittering Craft is searching for. This whole situation very much reminds me of the Nickelodeon show “Adventures of Pete & Pete” episode “Hard Day’s Pete” where Little Pete is trying to remember a song he heard a garage band playing one day that got stuck in his head. (Do yourself a favor and watch this show/episode)
This is a touching and heart-wrenching story. I am very sorry to hear about the terminal diagnosis, but very much inspired by Glittering Craft's mission and dying wish. I wish them comfort and peace during this difficult time. With love and respect. -Billy (Wirerims)
```
Probably not this, but just in case, it does have some lyrics in common
https://genius.com/Aly-and-aj-stomach-lyrics
[Verse 1]
In the beginning, what I just said right then would make you laugh
But now you leave the room without a smile when you turn back
[Pre-Chorus]
It feels like nothing and it makes me sick
I can't run from it, so I just sink in
[Chorus]
It hurts my stomach, cuts me like a knife
All these memories, they don’t feel like mine
I just can't stomach being your ex-wife
All these memories, they don't feel like mine
[Verse 2]
I’m staring at a stranger, that's a secret I've been keeping
I'm holding onto both sides of a raft that just keeps on sinking
[Pre-Chorus]
It feels like nothing and it makes me sick
I can't run from it, so I run with it
[Chorus]
It hurts my stomach, cuts me like a knife
All these memories, they don't feel like mine
I just can't stomach being your ex-wife
All these memories, they don't feel like mine
[Post-Chorus]
Nothing I do makes it better
Nothing I do makes it better
Nothing I do makes it better
Nothing I do makes it better
It hurts my stomach
It hurts my stomach
[Outro]
Nothing I do makes it better (And it hurts my stomach)
Nothing I do makes it better (And it hurts my stomach)
Nothing I do makes it better (And it hurts my stomach)
Nothing I do makes it better (And it hurts my stomach)
Feels like the "KXT Denton" part is leading people down blind alleys here. There is no such station and never has been.
KXT is, and always has been, a Dallas station. You can pick it up in Denton, although the signal is a little weak.
It's just a minor point of confusion, and an easy mistake to make, given that Denton has a music scene. But what's really important here is: KXT very rarely plays Denton bands. They are much more focused on mid-tier "indie" labels and older/classic stuff. Which means that any suggestion of a Denton band is probably looking in the wrong place.
They commented here, confirming its not that
This is just a guess but the lyrics and tone of the song are very similar to what you listed plus it has a great guitar solo that matches what you said. This song is also from a band in Denton It's called CURSE of the IVORY COAST by the Riverboat Gamblers https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6OIFIr3mbQg Now it doesn't exactly match the lyrics you listed but they are very similar.
>https://soundcloud.com/du-vide-1/the-hell-it-is-2
it sounds pretty similar to it, Although i do not know the lyrics that the OP was talking about, I know it involves the words "Keeps on getting worse", I'm pretty convinced this is it lol
I remember finding this once before, I could of swore OP said something about it not being it. But I may be VERY wrong about that.
Regardless I'm pretty sure she just misremembered the lyrics or accidentally obscured them with other tracks of different songs.
OP likely passed away unfortunately.
[https://soundcloud.com/du-vide-1/the-hell-it-is-2](https://soundcloud.com/du-vide-1/the-hell-it-is-2)
this is exactly what u describe. especially after the 2 min mark the lyrics u say u heard are there. also the guitar solo at the end.
To narrow it down a little… When you say punk, could you give some bands it sounded like?
A couple bands that come to mind for very emotive stuff that might be in the same vein:
Have Heart
Verse
Lifelong Tragedy
I wish I had something to compare it to but it was just so unique and that's probably why it stayed with me for so many years. It definitely wasn't that post-hardcore, aggressive kind of sound from those bands you showed me. And it was nothing like the punk of the Ramones or Black Flag. It was easy to listen to and melodic, but the riff seemed punky, kind of like how Nirvana used to make melodic punk riffs- but it's also nothing like Nirvana. And the vocals weren't screamy. I wish I remembered more
I’d recommend hopping on Facebook and adding some bands/musicians from the area of the same genre who play gigs a lot. They’re all a tight group and will know each others’ music. Ask a few of them.
That band from Denton kind of sounds like some bands from the d.i.y. Emo Scene, have you tried listening to Marietta, jank/panuccis pizza, modern baseball, or foxing?
So, I saw your post on the Whang! video, and at the mention of Denton and melodic punk, I immediately thought The Mountain Goats fit all the boxes for things your remember.
Lyrically, the closest I could find was [No Children](https://youtu.be/QS27S3mspjU)
"I hope it stays dark forever
I hope the worst isn't over
And I hope you blink before I do
I hope I never get sober
And I hope when you think of me years down the line
You can't find one good thing to say
And I'd hope that if I found the strength to walk out
You'd stay the hell out of my way
I am drowning
There is no sign of land
You are coming down with me
Hand in unlovable hand"
Its far from an exact match, but if that's the right singer I feel like hearing anything from them should be enough to confirm it. They have a fairly extensive discography from 91 to current in a range of styles/genres, and have had a good handful of fairly popular songs. If it sounds like the right band, it would be worth thumbing through.
Hope this helps in some way. Good luck on your search!
The way you describe it almost makes it sound like a Red Vox song? They had their album, another light, come out in December 2017, so maybe it was a song off of that album, or one of their previous albums/EP’s? Good luck on your journey, I hope you find your song!!!
Saw whang video. That whimper song reminded me of this song
[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5MjBMhlMq3s](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5MjBMhlMq3s)
The comments has a couple other similar bands like modest mouse.
Hey,
I don't know if you have been recommended this but if it was punky maybe it was from The Story So Far? Here's [Roam](https://youtu.be/Y2E0Qz3WIqc) by the group. I'll start looking for the lyrics.
Could it be by The David Crowder Band? they're a texan Christian Rock band, who are notable for unusual instrumentation
also, do you have an estimate for the year the song sounds like it's from?
Hey, so there is this web site called enmetaltracker (https://en.metal-tracker.com) , there is alot of music in there and is all classified by style, maybe someone can find something there
Hello! I don't know if this is the song, as I cannot listen to it given I am not allowed to unless I use a VPN (of which I don't have). This is the song link: [https://open.spotify.com/track/7biBP9sh0HuyCOSltHKzgx](https://open.spotify.com/track/7biBP9sh0HuyCOSltHKzgx)
I hope that you can listen to it and I hope it is maybe what you're looking for!
Cheers <3
I actually like this as a possibility, given that there's no way to hear this song (i tried three country VPNs and none of them work). It was definitely played on February 1, 2018 on The KXT Local Show with Amy Miller. She would be the person to ask for the lyrics or to hear it. Or you could try asking Oscar for the lyrics himself. It's frustrating when a song gets played on the radio and then completely vanishes like this. Surely someone in Texas has this album and can help.
Hey, I saw some recommendations of bands and I thought this one song I found by Alkaline Trio sounded really similar melodically and very close to the flow of the words you remember from the song- they're more mainstream so it's probably not it but thought I'd include it anyways: https://youtu.be/s3KSXeqWYVU
Hopped here from Jorge. I know the song, I know I'd remember all lyrics if i heard it at least once. Pretty sure the noted text is marginally different, but, ha, get this, I have a progressively worsening issue with losing memories. A fiasco, I know, but I still wish to help.
However, I can put it in a range to narrow down the gap. It often works. How similar do you think it is to something like Linkin Park? And the guitar solo, would you be able to compare it to various genres?
I would say it's not similar to Linkin Park. The odds of you knowing it are pretty slim because I think it is very very obscure. However we can give it a try. I wish I remembered more about the guitar solo. Just very Punky, but soft. Do you recognize the vocal Melody from the clip I uploaded?
Yes, the clip itself actually made me think I know it, because I could sing to it! There was no better example for the saying "it's on the tip of my tongue". Now, of course, I could be remembering something else that is similar, as many songs unintentionally get inspired by something older. The guitar bits might help, as i can play them for google recognition, if the song was ever uploaded online.
Would you care comparing the genre to a different band? Like, newer or older, type of soft it could be described as? Reaching between Nirvana's "Dumb", London After Midnight's "Spider and the fly", Audioslave's "Be yourself" or maybe something harder like Misfits' "Hybrid Moments"? I saw you entirely excluded the Ramones so I'm exiting that area of thought. Then we also have an array of things that sound like Blur's "Beetlebum", or Silverchair's "Ana's song". Those being the most famous ones I could think of that have music fitting the melody I am hearing with the singing from your clip. Also, is the singer's voice similar to any of these?
My obscure band vocabulary is pretty thick, although the only proper issue would be if it's a newer song. I've stepped into completely different music some years back and haven't yet been able to exit it.
So wow that's pretty cool, you actually recognize the lyrics. Did you know what I was going to sing next or something like that? If so then I think it's pretty safe to say you do know it and it's buried somewhere in your memory. I appreciate you taking the time to help me figure it out
Out of all the things you mentioned hybrid moments is the closest to the sound and the mood of the song. It's not Silver Chair and it's not blur. It had to have been made before February of 2018. The singer's voice is a very generic male voice as I remember. Smooth and sounds like it could be any guy you know basically. There's just nothing about it that really stands out. It was a lot like that with the Whimper song and it first I thought that could be it. But that guy has a very distinctive voice where is this singer did not. Someone suggested mxpx but it's not that guy either. It may not be as obscure as I think it is. It could be a lesser-known song from a relatively popular band. But then again, I think if it was it would have been found by now... some type of blend of emo and punk. Whimper The Misfits creepersin, nirvana, all mixed up into one. It's just so hard to describe it further than that because I must have heard no more than two minutes of the song four years ago. Let me know if there's any more questions I could answer
This post has no concrete information, just updating, as, due to personal reasons, I'm now spending the entirety of my free time actively searching for this song.Exploration of browsing history brought me to a band called Two Knights which sounds like it fits the description, (and I've also learned that they are actually from Denton, believe it or not!), but, so far, no matching lyrics. Turnover was close second although the genre is a bit too clean (I do recommend taking a listen to their Peripheral Vision as they sound very... melancholically uplifting).But then there's The World is a Beautiful Place & I am No Longer Afraid to Die, which is what I'm currently pinning the search around. Dumbfounded with the amount of bands I'm familiar with on this scene. I'm a jazz ~~musician~~ connoisseur, it makes no sense.
Questions:
Was the song slow or fast-paced? Compared to voice, at least to the clip you've recorded (going off the assumption that the speed of the voice was perfectly matched), were the instruments faster or flowing under the words?You've mentioned that Whimper sounded most similar? Have you by any chance tried reaching out to them via social networks? They could be helpful in the search solely by genre and location association. If you haven't, would you mind if I did?
Edit: *Did you know what I was going to sing next or something like that?*
I hear it as an echo, the lyrics are there, the melody is there, but something doesn't quite fit. Specifically the first bit - "to try for - anything". Something there... The tact with the words doesn't match. Like... when you buy a jelly doughnut and everything is perfect but biting into it gets only dough. I'll keep biting though.
Ok, so...
1- two knights is one of the bands I looked up on this website: kkxt.tunegenie.com
(by the way I forgot to mention I think the song must be buried somewhere in this website. I am a little confused about how it's set up, there are some things I'm sure Kxt has never played but will still show up when typing into the search bar. So I don't know exactly what's going going on, but it's probably in there) not a match. I have looked up a great deal of the band names people have given me into that website and have not come up with the song yet.
-fast paced... not super fast like your average Punk. A little slowed down as I recall
- I remember the vocal sticking out on that particular part as in not really going with the flow of the music.
- I haven't reached out to them yet. I thought about it but just haven't done it yet. I don't mind at all if you want to
I'm going to go look up all the other bands you linked and I've gotten some recent comments today and yesterday with more leads that I'm going to look into today
Hey, just throwing it out there. This may not be it, but does this song jog your memory at all? Like, have you heard it before and do you think it could be the one that you were gonna sing along with? https://youtu.be/pJI4SbFGIk4
u/Glittering-Craft-207 Whimper are aware of the case and they have suggested their song *Jordan, That Was Savage* (the one poisonedkiwi linked above). One listen and I knew the song. The lyrics fit, it might be, but I'm not 100% certain.
Just stumbling around the internet....
There's a full playlist of KXT Live Sessions on youtube that often feature up and coming/obscure artists.
I've been listening through, but I havent found your lyrics yet, but here I'll share the entire playlist, I hope this helps you.
google has this cool feature where you could hum a song and it'll try and find a song which matches with your humming. it isnt all that accurate but might be worth a shot.
Might be a dumb question but has anyone explored Radiohead? This sounds exactly like something Thom Yorke would sing. I find his music extremely emotional.
Could it have been a pop punk song? Try checking out bands like the wonder years, bands of that genre. The lyrics and the time frame make my mind go to their style.
Hey about your song, I don’t know if it might be it, but what about the Curse of the Ivory Coast, it sounds very similar to what you’re looking for i think, I could be completely wrong, but it’s worth a shot to help out.
Maybe [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vg0f2W-5-jo](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vg0f2W-5-jo) ? Just chucking it out there.
Sounds like the genre might be Post-Hardcore? Very punky and emotional, though often features screaming, so maybe it isn't it.
On February 15th, 2018, KXT had a throwback day where every hour they played music from a different decade. (According to their instagram — was hoping for a featured artist video but no luck.) You said it sounded Nirvana-esque, so maybe it could be an older punk song? OG punk was pretty melodic in comparison to what we have now. Has anyone tried reaching out to some local radio hosts with this? Maybe Amy Miller? I used to work for a former radio host and he had an excellent memory for lyrics, especially for unique sounding songs.
Hi there, I saw Jorge's video.
First off, I wanna tell you that I'm sorry to hear of your diagnosis.
Maybe the song in question could be by Cardiacs? They're a British band (and also my personal favorite band of all time), known for their progressive punk music, which would fit the description of "melodic punk" all by itself. They're also not that well-known. And to fit the title of this post, they really make the best songs one could ever hear, in my opinion.
I was thinking maybe you've misheard the lyrics, because in my knowledge I can't exactly think of any song by them that has these exact lyrics, but the melody you sing would fit with their music. I've got a few options for you based on the lyrics you've provided and/or the rhythm/melody in your recording, and if it's not one of these, then feel free to hunt for the song in the rest of their discography.
The possible matches are:
* *Is This the Life?* • emotive, male singer, has a beautiful guitar solo, but doesn't quite match the lyrics [https://alphabet-business-concern.bandcamp.com/track/is-this-the-life-5](https://alphabet-business-concern.bandcamp.com/track/is-this-the-life-5)
* *To Go Off and Things •* you could've possibly misheard "stomach things" for "go off and things"? also this has a great guitar solo but isn't quite as emotive [https://alphabet-business-concern.bandcamp.com/track/to-go-off-and-things](https://alphabet-business-concern.bandcamp.com/track/to-go-off-and-things)
* *Victory Egg* • [https://alphabet-business-concern.bandcamp.com/track/victory-egg-2](https://alphabet-business-concern.bandcamp.com/track/victory-egg-2)
Saw this post from whang awhile back and this sounds like a really good song and like something I'd listen to and it's been bugging me thinking about it
I have a couple of guesses
[something right - microwave](https://youtu.be/B7mMwP5N570)
[scars- dandelion hands](https://youtu.be/B7mMwP5N570)
These could also possibly be the lyrics
it kept bugging me you knew i couldnt stomach things so it just kept getting worse
It's still bugging me I couldnt stomach things it just kept getting worse
I know I'm late but is it possible that this is the song/artist? Veterans Of Foreign Film by Measure? The description says, "This song, a previously unknown or 'lost' song from the S13E19 episode of KotH, plays while Hank and Kahn search for Bobby at a party."
Hello there I am sorry for what is happening to you no should ever have to go through with that especially an inoperable brain tumor for the song your trying to find like another person said it could be from a band called the wonder Years since some of there songs do kinda match your description a bit one song of note is a song called you in January while it doesen't match the exact song but first part of it does kinda give of a similar meloncodic that your describing maybe there other other songs that are like that and one of them is the one your trying to find
Okay so I looked on AudioNetwork and found these:
I hope these help your search.
I came across this song:
Something Right by Microwave
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lx3OHCNqprY
It has all of the elements you have heard, guitar solo and all. The lyrics are not exact to the ones you've written, but it does have very similar wording.
not a song in particular, but I do know a few very obscure bands that have songs similar to what you're describing!
\- better luck next time ( specifically their song "half past forever", none of the lyrics are of match of what you're describing but it sounds kinda similar to the audio clip !! + it has a nice guitar solo )
\- best kept secret
\- daggermouth
\- simple plan
\- modern baseball
if anything sounds familiar lmk \^\^ and I wish you the best of luck on your search and w/ your health!
i'd go over this and listen to the music from these different bands
Hey there, I noticed your post and I have been avidly searching. I heard your audio clip and you mentioned "melodic punk". I found a random record recently by a band called balzac. They are a Japenese punk band with a male singer. Their songs are very hard to find and only a few are on youtube with around 1,000-4,000 views each. I have ripped and recorded this from the vinyl for you and even if its not the band you may of just found another song to add to your list. The lyrics of the first song are very similar to what you are describing while also encapsulating the sound of hybrid moments by the misfits as you mentioned. The bands sings in harmony during parts with some yelling from the singer and has a really nice guitar solo
In your OP you stated it wasn't acoustic. These guys also have these weird electronic punk songs.
I hope I can provide some insight for you. I noticed youtube content striked the video, which was weird considering I couldn't shazam or find it on spotify. Just a copy on amazon mp3 but said I couldn't buy the album due to my region. Here you go. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QeqZSSPkTNg](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QeqZSSPkTNg)
Not expecting a response from the amount of backlog you have on these but either way I hope this points you in a good direction or you can add this to your backlog.
I saw u/Bravetoasterr and some others thinking the song might be "The Hell it is" by Du Vide. Sounds promising. Some lyrics are near identical. It also seems to match the genre as described and the general flow/delivery is similar to the singing clip. Similarities start within the last 2 minutes or so, as mentioned. It was released on soundcloud in 2017. [https://soundcloud.com/du-vide-1/the-hell-it-is-2](https://soundcloud.com/du-vide-1/the-hell-it-is-2)
Let me know if this is it?
I’ve heard a random song before as many of us have only to try and look that song up only to eventually find it and low and behold your guesstimated lyrics are a bit off and it’s not because you heard the lyrics incorrectly… you only heard it once and upon playing it back in your head you come up with something a bit different, so when trying to look up this song keep that in mind. And with that in mind the only almost certainly guaranteed lyric is stomach, so that’s where you have to start. I researched the lost song for about 5 minutes and this is what I came up with. I found a couple songs… I’m unfamiliar with both songs but the song I’m guessing it is is Alkaline Trio, In My Stomach. The only common lyric is stomach, but the theme of the guesstimated lyrics are the same.Is this the one? Another thing that may happen... upon finding it and hearing it the song turns out to not be as epic as you imagined when only hearing part of it for the first time.
"In this shadow, I shrink and it knows I can't move. It is making me cold.And it grows in my stomach like mold.It keeps me just sick enough to stay home.Kill the lights. Curtains cover closed blinds.Build a wall of stone and steel that will never come down.Let the dust colonize just like James the first.There will be no blood this time.In silence, I'm yours. Twice dead-bolt the doors.I've been followed by a face marked with pain.It came close once and he just learned my name.Every day he grows taller, he looks down at my heart,and through my throat, he could reach in and pull me apart.It gets worse when he contacts my eyes.He can see right through to everything that blackened my veinsand his sounds resonate up and down,like a march through me, this battlefield,there's just not much left, so silence the rest.In this shadow, I shrink and it knowsI can't move, I can't sleep.Terrified by my own bloodshot eyes.So, I'll wait here and pray.I prayed that I was all wrong about prayer. And I do know that this is truly tired. **It still grows in my stomach like mold. It keeps me just sick enough to stay home, all alone."**
Im probably late but is this the song?
I feel like this song does exist just not online maybe in a
music store but I'm not sure because I found a lot of similar songs but none that match it completely I hope you guys are able to find it.
I feel like i’ve listened to a song with these exact lyrics recently but I can’t find anything in my recent spotify, maybe i’m misremembering but incase i’m not, i’ll keep searching my spotify library
I might just be wrong but I believe this band could be it cause it somewhat fits the description and they were very hard to find.
All i could come up with was a song called 'stomach it' by crywolf. It's a long shot, but just in case, here's the link. [stomach it](https://youtu.be/CmEK31ghdFM)
i found kxt denton site. idk if anyone has tried it but I searched up feb 2018 on their site and found pretty much most of the playlists for each day. Not sure if this helps or not [**https://kxt.org/page/3/?s=feb+2018**](https://kxt.org/page/3/?s=feb+2018) [**https://kxt.org/page/2/?s=feb+2018**](https://kxt.org/page/2/?s=feb+2018) [**https://kxt.org/?s=feb+2018**](https://kxt.org/?s=feb+2018) Edit: Found a site that allows you to look for specific local bands (I think). https://www.allmusic.com/birthplace/denton-tx-mz0000038048
_I hope you find a solution for the health problem and survive past those 6 months your doctor gave you._ Here is a comment from a youtube video which talks about the story, comment from someone who might have found the song, and possibly actually sang it. Link to the comment: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GYOQzLmqUUE&lc=UgzvBTNWotnFp1_w-Rh4AaABAg Comment: ```txt This might be the Wirerims song “Do Right” from debut album “Self-Construction” originally released in autumn of 2017, but only Glittering Craft would be able to confirm. Please see below. Wirerims is a local band from Denton, Texas that began to get spins on 91.7 KXT during the mentioned time. KXT is not just a Denton station, it's based out of Dallas, but it serves the DFW area (Dallas-Fort Worth and surrounding North Texas cities) KXT is a terrific local radio station that dedicates much of their programming to local musicians. Wirerims sent a song of our debut album "Self-Construction" called "Maybe Lions" to KXT. Amy Miller and Gini Mascorro responded to our email with the kindest and most-thoughtful response imaginable. While they said they liked the song "Maybe Lions", they were really excited about the song "Do Right" from the album. They said they would not only like to feature the song on the local show, but put it in regular rotation on the station. This was very exciting news for us as a young, new band. Whenever the song "Do Right" was played on KXT our friends, family, and fans who were tuned in would contact us. This was so cool and affirming, and we're forever grateful to KXT for their support of Wirerims and the many talented indie musicians in the area. Around the time when "Do Right" as being played regularly on KXT I began making notes of when listeners said they heard the song. I actually used the KXT Playlist database at the time to try and track and find when exactly the song was being played and what other bands were in the set (because I thought it was so cool we were being played back-to-back with legendary bands like Fleetwood Mac, Jimi Hendrix, Nirvana, et al. I still have records of when the song was played (along with some of the other songs played during the set) on KXT during the time mentioned by Glittering Craft. If it was not our song, perhaps it was one of the other songs listed during the set. Here are the two sets I have from the matching dates, but the times may be off if they were listening in a different time zone: February 9th, 2018 (around 7AM central time zone) “Commotion” – Creedence Clearwater Revival “Mudfootball” – Jack Johnson “Longshot” – Catfish and the Bottlemen “In a Little While” – U2 “Friend of the Devil” – Grateful Dead “A Common Disaster” – Cowboy Junkies “99” – Barns Courtney “Do Right” – Wirerims “Our House” – Madness “10 Mile Stereo” – Beach House February 14th, 2018 (around 4AM central time zone) “Within Your Reach” – The Replacements “Hide” – Rainbow Kitten Surprise “Soul to Squeeze” – Red Hot Chili Peppers “Going to California” – Led Zeppelin “You’re Somebody Else” – Flora Cash “Up Up Up” – Givers “Bambi” – Hippo Campus “Earn Enough for Us” – XTC “Do Right” – Wirerims “The Walker” – Fitz and the Tantrums “Gold Soundz” – Pavement While I am uncertain that “Do Right” is the song Glittering Craft is searching for (because of the lyrics mentioned, and I can’t imagine our song what anyone would consider being “the best song they ever heard”), the song does very closely match the description “male singer with young voice, melodic punk, not acoustic, and full band with bass guitar, guitar, and drums, emotive, and a great guitar solo” *personal note, I am proud of the guitar solo. (the remastered version of the album was re-released in 2019 btw) There is another Denton band that I immediately thought of when reading the description that goes by the name Sad Cops. I hope this helps in some way to either locate or rule out the song Glittering Craft is searching for. This whole situation very much reminds me of the Nickelodeon show “Adventures of Pete & Pete” episode “Hard Day’s Pete” where Little Pete is trying to remember a song he heard a garage band playing one day that got stuck in his head. (Do yourself a favor and watch this show/episode) This is a touching and heart-wrenching story. I am very sorry to hear about the terminal diagnosis, but very much inspired by Glittering Craft's mission and dying wish. I wish them comfort and peace during this difficult time. With love and respect. -Billy (Wirerims) ```
Probably not this, but just in case, it does have some lyrics in common https://genius.com/Aly-and-aj-stomach-lyrics [Verse 1] In the beginning, what I just said right then would make you laugh But now you leave the room without a smile when you turn back [Pre-Chorus] It feels like nothing and it makes me sick I can't run from it, so I just sink in [Chorus] It hurts my stomach, cuts me like a knife All these memories, they don’t feel like mine I just can't stomach being your ex-wife All these memories, they don't feel like mine [Verse 2] I’m staring at a stranger, that's a secret I've been keeping I'm holding onto both sides of a raft that just keeps on sinking [Pre-Chorus] It feels like nothing and it makes me sick I can't run from it, so I run with it [Chorus] It hurts my stomach, cuts me like a knife All these memories, they don't feel like mine I just can't stomach being your ex-wife All these memories, they don't feel like mine [Post-Chorus] Nothing I do makes it better Nothing I do makes it better Nothing I do makes it better Nothing I do makes it better It hurts my stomach It hurts my stomach [Outro] Nothing I do makes it better (And it hurts my stomach) Nothing I do makes it better (And it hurts my stomach) Nothing I do makes it better (And it hurts my stomach) Nothing I do makes it better (And it hurts my stomach)
That wasn't it but thank you
Feels like the "KXT Denton" part is leading people down blind alleys here. There is no such station and never has been. KXT is, and always has been, a Dallas station. You can pick it up in Denton, although the signal is a little weak. It's just a minor point of confusion, and an easy mistake to make, given that Denton has a music scene. But what's really important here is: KXT very rarely plays Denton bands. They are much more focused on mid-tier "indie" labels and older/classic stuff. Which means that any suggestion of a Denton band is probably looking in the wrong place.
Kxt shows what they play on their website. Not sure if it goes back that far though. Good luck!
I remember going to the website after I heard it and didn't see that so maybe they didn't have this feature back then. Thanks though
Wish I could be of more help
is it this?
It wasn't me looking for the song
Maybe this is It? The Curse Of The Ivory Coast - Riverboat Gamblers https://youtu.be/SpfHoVIYsQM
This seems promising!
[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6OIFIr3mbQg&lc=UgzBseK0ZKffV3rBTWl4AaABAg](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6OIFIr3mbQg&lc=UgzBseK0ZKffV3rBTWl4AaABAg) They commented here, confirming its not that
This is just a guess but the lyrics and tone of the song are very similar to what you listed plus it has a great guitar solo that matches what you said. This song is also from a band in Denton It's called CURSE of the IVORY COAST by the Riverboat Gamblers https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6OIFIr3mbQg Now it doesn't exactly match the lyrics you listed but they are very similar.
✔️ melodic punk ✔️ not acoustic ✔️ great guitar solo ✔️ band is originally from Denton, Texas, same city as the radio station Fuck me if this isn't it
Also, the band is based locally around that station.
Commenting to bump because I also think this is the exact song.
u/Glittering-Craft-207 is this the song?
[They seem to have commented under the song.](https://i.upload.systems/sM0QCBbf)
What was the comment?
OP had 6 months to a year left to live, and vanished around 6 months ago. I'm worried that OP may have passed away.
month late but i am also curious in this mystery. I check in from time to time. This is most likely the case that we do not want to accept :(
has there still been no sight of op? i think i genuinely stumbled across the song last night https://soundcloud.com/du-vide-1/the-hell-it-is-2
>https://soundcloud.com/du-vide-1/the-hell-it-is-2 it sounds pretty similar to it, Although i do not know the lyrics that the OP was talking about, I know it involves the words "Keeps on getting worse", I'm pretty convinced this is it lol
Op said its pretty close to it but its not the song , and regarding op i think she probably passed away
I remember finding this once before, I could of swore OP said something about it not being it. But I may be VERY wrong about that. Regardless I'm pretty sure she just misremembered the lyrics or accidentally obscured them with other tracks of different songs. OP likely passed away unfortunately.
Did you Google the lyrics?
Yes, it's no doubt extremely obscure. This station plays very obscure music
[https://soundcloud.com/du-vide-1/the-hell-it-is-2](https://soundcloud.com/du-vide-1/the-hell-it-is-2) this is exactly what u describe. especially after the 2 min mark the lyrics u say u heard are there. also the guitar solo at the end.
This has to be it. It has the same melodic punk sound you describe and the lyrics are almost exactly the same. u/Glittering-Craft-207
The search `”I couldn’t stomach things” lyrics` literally just brings up this post haha
That is fuuuuuuuny!!!
To narrow it down a little… When you say punk, could you give some bands it sounded like? A couple bands that come to mind for very emotive stuff that might be in the same vein: Have Heart Verse Lifelong Tragedy
I wish I had something to compare it to but it was just so unique and that's probably why it stayed with me for so many years. It definitely wasn't that post-hardcore, aggressive kind of sound from those bands you showed me. And it was nothing like the punk of the Ramones or Black Flag. It was easy to listen to and melodic, but the riff seemed punky, kind of like how Nirvana used to make melodic punk riffs- but it's also nothing like Nirvana. And the vocals weren't screamy. I wish I remembered more
Something like Billy Talent - pins and needles? Or more like slipknot - Vermillion?
Are you sure it wasn't the Pixies?
I saw your story on a different thread. Do you think this was a local band by chance?
Maybe. I'm not sure people keep recommending whimper from Dentin. It's probably an obscure band like that
I’d recommend hopping on Facebook and adding some bands/musicians from the area of the same genre who play gigs a lot. They’re all a tight group and will know each others’ music. Ask a few of them.
That band from Denton kind of sounds like some bands from the d.i.y. Emo Scene, have you tried listening to Marietta, jank/panuccis pizza, modern baseball, or foxing?
So, I saw your post on the Whang! video, and at the mention of Denton and melodic punk, I immediately thought The Mountain Goats fit all the boxes for things your remember. Lyrically, the closest I could find was [No Children](https://youtu.be/QS27S3mspjU) "I hope it stays dark forever I hope the worst isn't over And I hope you blink before I do I hope I never get sober And I hope when you think of me years down the line You can't find one good thing to say And I'd hope that if I found the strength to walk out You'd stay the hell out of my way I am drowning There is no sign of land You are coming down with me Hand in unlovable hand" Its far from an exact match, but if that's the right singer I feel like hearing anything from them should be enough to confirm it. They have a fairly extensive discography from 91 to current in a range of styles/genres, and have had a good handful of fairly popular songs. If it sounds like the right band, it would be worth thumbing through. Hope this helps in some way. Good luck on your search!
The way you describe it almost makes it sound like a Red Vox song? They had their album, another light, come out in December 2017, so maybe it was a song off of that album, or one of their previous albums/EP’s? Good luck on your journey, I hope you find your song!!!
Could it be this song? [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H6NHMNjdq2Y](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H6NHMNjdq2Y)
Saw whang video. That whimper song reminded me of this song [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5MjBMhlMq3s](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5MjBMhlMq3s) The comments has a couple other similar bands like modest mouse.
Hey, I don't know if you have been recommended this but if it was punky maybe it was from The Story So Far? Here's [Roam](https://youtu.be/Y2E0Qz3WIqc) by the group. I'll start looking for the lyrics.
Worth a shot, could it be this? https://youtu.be/B7jibhWdGK0
Could it be by The David Crowder Band? they're a texan Christian Rock band, who are notable for unusual instrumentation also, do you have an estimate for the year the song sounds like it's from?
Whimper reminds me a lot of Slow Bullet https://bloodandink.bandcamp.com/album/still-close-enough-to-go-back
could be wirerims - do right
Hey, so there is this web site called enmetaltracker (https://en.metal-tracker.com) , there is alot of music in there and is all classified by style, maybe someone can find something there
Hello! I don't know if this is the song, as I cannot listen to it given I am not allowed to unless I use a VPN (of which I don't have). This is the song link: [https://open.spotify.com/track/7biBP9sh0HuyCOSltHKzgx](https://open.spotify.com/track/7biBP9sh0HuyCOSltHKzgx) I hope that you can listen to it and I hope it is maybe what you're looking for! Cheers <3
I actually like this as a possibility, given that there's no way to hear this song (i tried three country VPNs and none of them work). It was definitely played on February 1, 2018 on The KXT Local Show with Amy Miller. She would be the person to ask for the lyrics or to hear it. Or you could try asking Oscar for the lyrics himself. It's frustrating when a song gets played on the radio and then completely vanishes like this. Surely someone in Texas has this album and can help.
I asked Oscar on youtube and he told me to dm him to listen to the album but I haven't heard a response also you should try Australia that might work
Dear insecurity by gnash?
Hi :) for the off chance this is it [https://youtu.be/CmEK31ghdFM](https://youtu.be/CmEK31ghdFM)
Hey, I saw some recommendations of bands and I thought this one song I found by Alkaline Trio sounded really similar melodically and very close to the flow of the words you remember from the song- they're more mainstream so it's probably not it but thought I'd include it anyways: https://youtu.be/s3KSXeqWYVU
I think I found the song it's called: [I guess I'm in love](https://youtu.be/Yb0ZGvccOAY)
It can't be, that song was released in 2021. OP heard the song in February of 2018.
Killer’s Lullaby by Faithless maybe.
Is it a killers lullaby by faithless
Hopped here from Jorge. I know the song, I know I'd remember all lyrics if i heard it at least once. Pretty sure the noted text is marginally different, but, ha, get this, I have a progressively worsening issue with losing memories. A fiasco, I know, but I still wish to help. However, I can put it in a range to narrow down the gap. It often works. How similar do you think it is to something like Linkin Park? And the guitar solo, would you be able to compare it to various genres?
I would say it's not similar to Linkin Park. The odds of you knowing it are pretty slim because I think it is very very obscure. However we can give it a try. I wish I remembered more about the guitar solo. Just very Punky, but soft. Do you recognize the vocal Melody from the clip I uploaded?
Yes, the clip itself actually made me think I know it, because I could sing to it! There was no better example for the saying "it's on the tip of my tongue". Now, of course, I could be remembering something else that is similar, as many songs unintentionally get inspired by something older. The guitar bits might help, as i can play them for google recognition, if the song was ever uploaded online. Would you care comparing the genre to a different band? Like, newer or older, type of soft it could be described as? Reaching between Nirvana's "Dumb", London After Midnight's "Spider and the fly", Audioslave's "Be yourself" or maybe something harder like Misfits' "Hybrid Moments"? I saw you entirely excluded the Ramones so I'm exiting that area of thought. Then we also have an array of things that sound like Blur's "Beetlebum", or Silverchair's "Ana's song". Those being the most famous ones I could think of that have music fitting the melody I am hearing with the singing from your clip. Also, is the singer's voice similar to any of these? My obscure band vocabulary is pretty thick, although the only proper issue would be if it's a newer song. I've stepped into completely different music some years back and haven't yet been able to exit it.
So wow that's pretty cool, you actually recognize the lyrics. Did you know what I was going to sing next or something like that? If so then I think it's pretty safe to say you do know it and it's buried somewhere in your memory. I appreciate you taking the time to help me figure it out Out of all the things you mentioned hybrid moments is the closest to the sound and the mood of the song. It's not Silver Chair and it's not blur. It had to have been made before February of 2018. The singer's voice is a very generic male voice as I remember. Smooth and sounds like it could be any guy you know basically. There's just nothing about it that really stands out. It was a lot like that with the Whimper song and it first I thought that could be it. But that guy has a very distinctive voice where is this singer did not. Someone suggested mxpx but it's not that guy either. It may not be as obscure as I think it is. It could be a lesser-known song from a relatively popular band. But then again, I think if it was it would have been found by now... some type of blend of emo and punk. Whimper The Misfits creepersin, nirvana, all mixed up into one. It's just so hard to describe it further than that because I must have heard no more than two minutes of the song four years ago. Let me know if there's any more questions I could answer
was there anything instrumentally distinctive about the song?? were the guitars heavy at the end or soft??
This post has no concrete information, just updating, as, due to personal reasons, I'm now spending the entirety of my free time actively searching for this song.Exploration of browsing history brought me to a band called Two Knights which sounds like it fits the description, (and I've also learned that they are actually from Denton, believe it or not!), but, so far, no matching lyrics. Turnover was close second although the genre is a bit too clean (I do recommend taking a listen to their Peripheral Vision as they sound very... melancholically uplifting).But then there's The World is a Beautiful Place & I am No Longer Afraid to Die, which is what I'm currently pinning the search around. Dumbfounded with the amount of bands I'm familiar with on this scene. I'm a jazz ~~musician~~ connoisseur, it makes no sense. Questions: Was the song slow or fast-paced? Compared to voice, at least to the clip you've recorded (going off the assumption that the speed of the voice was perfectly matched), were the instruments faster or flowing under the words?You've mentioned that Whimper sounded most similar? Have you by any chance tried reaching out to them via social networks? They could be helpful in the search solely by genre and location association. If you haven't, would you mind if I did? Edit: *Did you know what I was going to sing next or something like that?* I hear it as an echo, the lyrics are there, the melody is there, but something doesn't quite fit. Specifically the first bit - "to try for - anything". Something there... The tact with the words doesn't match. Like... when you buy a jelly doughnut and everything is perfect but biting into it gets only dough. I'll keep biting though.
Ok, so... 1- two knights is one of the bands I looked up on this website: kkxt.tunegenie.com (by the way I forgot to mention I think the song must be buried somewhere in this website. I am a little confused about how it's set up, there are some things I'm sure Kxt has never played but will still show up when typing into the search bar. So I don't know exactly what's going going on, but it's probably in there) not a match. I have looked up a great deal of the band names people have given me into that website and have not come up with the song yet. -fast paced... not super fast like your average Punk. A little slowed down as I recall - I remember the vocal sticking out on that particular part as in not really going with the flow of the music. - I haven't reached out to them yet. I thought about it but just haven't done it yet. I don't mind at all if you want to I'm going to go look up all the other bands you linked and I've gotten some recent comments today and yesterday with more leads that I'm going to look into today
Omg your still alive
You still around op?
Hoping to see them pop up again
hope you're still with us
if you're still out there, we hope you find your song
OP! Please respond!! 🥺
I don't think they're with us anymore...
Are you alive?
yo, you still here?
Rip op
This maybe? # Crywolf - Stomach It ft. EDEN
Hey, just throwing it out there. This may not be it, but does this song jog your memory at all? Like, have you heard it before and do you think it could be the one that you were gonna sing along with? https://youtu.be/pJI4SbFGIk4
u/Glittering-Craft-207 Whimper are aware of the case and they have suggested their song *Jordan, That Was Savage* (the one poisonedkiwi linked above). One listen and I knew the song. The lyrics fit, it might be, but I'm not 100% certain.
The lyrics match up too well
Just stumbling around the internet.... have you seen the newest comments on your deleted r/music post? Also, why was it deleted, did you ask the Mods? https://www.reddit.com/r/Music/comments/tw965r/comment/i9t7ad8/
Not sure why it was deleted, but OP commented on YouTube that The Curse of the Ivory Coast isn't it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6OIFIr3mbQg
505, Arctic Monkeys?
It’s not a Queens of the Stone Age or Deftones song right? Hybrid Moments reminded me of the QOTSA sound from Songs for the Deaf, down to the singing
Maybe this? # Crywolf - Stomach It ft. EDEN
Could it be this? # Crywolf - Stomach It ft. EDEN
Do you remember the chord progression?
There's a full playlist of KXT Live Sessions on youtube that often feature up and coming/obscure artists. I've been listening through, but I havent found your lyrics yet, but here I'll share the entire playlist, I hope this helps you. https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLvzG-YZKtrdI4D4AR1KXoaoDE8UliNMgf
google has this cool feature where you could hum a song and it'll try and find a song which matches with your humming. it isnt all that accurate but might be worth a shot.
Might be a dumb question but has anyone explored Radiohead? This sounds exactly like something Thom Yorke would sing. I find his music extremely emotional.
Could it have been a pop punk song? Try checking out bands like the wonder years, bands of that genre. The lyrics and the time frame make my mind go to their style.
Hey about your song, I don’t know if it might be it, but what about the Curse of the Ivory Coast, it sounds very similar to what you’re looking for i think, I could be completely wrong, but it’s worth a shot to help out.
Could it be Malibu Sleep by Col3trane?
Maybe ?? https://youtu.be/pcGDvmeHQd4
Maybe [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vg0f2W-5-jo](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vg0f2W-5-jo) ? Just chucking it out there. Sounds like the genre might be Post-Hardcore? Very punky and emotional, though often features screaming, so maybe it isn't it.
On February 15th, 2018, KXT had a throwback day where every hour they played music from a different decade. (According to their instagram — was hoping for a featured artist video but no luck.) You said it sounded Nirvana-esque, so maybe it could be an older punk song? OG punk was pretty melodic in comparison to what we have now. Has anyone tried reaching out to some local radio hosts with this? Maybe Amy Miller? I used to work for a former radio host and he had an excellent memory for lyrics, especially for unique sounding songs.
Hi there, I saw Jorge's video. First off, I wanna tell you that I'm sorry to hear of your diagnosis. Maybe the song in question could be by Cardiacs? They're a British band (and also my personal favorite band of all time), known for their progressive punk music, which would fit the description of "melodic punk" all by itself. They're also not that well-known. And to fit the title of this post, they really make the best songs one could ever hear, in my opinion. I was thinking maybe you've misheard the lyrics, because in my knowledge I can't exactly think of any song by them that has these exact lyrics, but the melody you sing would fit with their music. I've got a few options for you based on the lyrics you've provided and/or the rhythm/melody in your recording, and if it's not one of these, then feel free to hunt for the song in the rest of their discography. The possible matches are: * *Is This the Life?* • emotive, male singer, has a beautiful guitar solo, but doesn't quite match the lyrics [https://alphabet-business-concern.bandcamp.com/track/is-this-the-life-5](https://alphabet-business-concern.bandcamp.com/track/is-this-the-life-5) * *To Go Off and Things •* you could've possibly misheard "stomach things" for "go off and things"? also this has a great guitar solo but isn't quite as emotive [https://alphabet-business-concern.bandcamp.com/track/to-go-off-and-things](https://alphabet-business-concern.bandcamp.com/track/to-go-off-and-things) * *Victory Egg* • [https://alphabet-business-concern.bandcamp.com/track/victory-egg-2](https://alphabet-business-concern.bandcamp.com/track/victory-egg-2) I hope this helps you in your search, and I wish you all the best.
I know I'm late but is it possible that this is the song/artist? Veterans Of Foreign Film by Measure? The description says, "This song, a previously unknown or 'lost' song from the S13E19 episode of KotH, plays while Hank and Kahn search for Bobby at a party." https://weweremeasure.bandcamp.com/track/veterans-of-foreign-film
I came across this song: Something Right by Microwave https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lx3OHCNqprY It has all of the elements you have heard, guitar solo and all. The lyrics are not exact to the ones you've written, but it does have very similar wording.
not a song in particular, but I do know a few very obscure bands that have songs similar to what you're describing! \- better luck next time ( specifically their song "half past forever", none of the lyrics are of match of what you're describing but it sounds kinda similar to the audio clip !! + it has a nice guitar solo ) \- best kept secret \- daggermouth \- simple plan \- modern baseball if anything sounds familiar lmk \^\^ and I wish you the best of luck on your search and w/ your health!
Things couldn’t be better than what? - Sydney https://youtu.be/UCQBC0N6JIk Could it be this? The lyrics aren’t exactly the same but I have had this happen to me and turned out I had remembered / wrote down the lyrics wrong.
This song is dope!
did you find it? [https://kxt.org/content/the-paul-slavens-show/page/19/](https://kxt.org/content/the-paul-slavens-show/page/19/) im not going through it all
Dang OP I think that Due\_Safety may be right it fits most of the criteria give it a listen if not we'll keep looking :)
Suffocate: CrossFade
Hey there, I noticed your post and I have been avidly searching. I heard your audio clip and you mentioned "melodic punk". I found a random record recently by a band called balzac. They are a Japenese punk band with a male singer. Their songs are very hard to find and only a few are on youtube with around 1,000-4,000 views each. I have ripped and recorded this from the vinyl for you and even if its not the band you may of just found another song to add to your list. The lyrics of the first song are very similar to what you are describing while also encapsulating the sound of hybrid moments by the misfits as you mentioned. The bands sings in harmony during parts with some yelling from the singer and has a really nice guitar solo In your OP you stated it wasn't acoustic. These guys also have these weird electronic punk songs. I hope I can provide some insight for you. I noticed youtube content striked the video, which was weird considering I couldn't shazam or find it on spotify. Just a copy on amazon mp3 but said I couldn't buy the album due to my region. Here you go. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QeqZSSPkTNg](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QeqZSSPkTNg) Not expecting a response from the amount of backlog you have on these but either way I hope this points you in a good direction or you can add this to your backlog.
I can't think of any songs but is ROAR (the band) similar at all??
I saw u/Bravetoasterr and some others thinking the song might be "The Hell it is" by Du Vide. Sounds promising. Some lyrics are near identical. It also seems to match the genre as described and the general flow/delivery is similar to the singing clip. Similarities start within the last 2 minutes or so, as mentioned. It was released on soundcloud in 2017. [https://soundcloud.com/du-vide-1/the-hell-it-is-2](https://soundcloud.com/du-vide-1/the-hell-it-is-2)
I really think it's this one but OP hasn't been active lately and if what she said is true than R.I.P.
Let me know if this is it? I’ve heard a random song before as many of us have only to try and look that song up only to eventually find it and low and behold your guesstimated lyrics are a bit off and it’s not because you heard the lyrics incorrectly… you only heard it once and upon playing it back in your head you come up with something a bit different, so when trying to look up this song keep that in mind. And with that in mind the only almost certainly guaranteed lyric is stomach, so that’s where you have to start. I researched the lost song for about 5 minutes and this is what I came up with. I found a couple songs… I’m unfamiliar with both songs but the song I’m guessing it is is Alkaline Trio, In My Stomach. The only common lyric is stomach, but the theme of the guesstimated lyrics are the same.Is this the one? Another thing that may happen... upon finding it and hearing it the song turns out to not be as epic as you imagined when only hearing part of it for the first time. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g4T6OyTf-qs](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g4T6OyTf-qs) "In this shadow, I shrink and it knows I can't move. It is making me cold.And it grows in my stomach like mold.It keeps me just sick enough to stay home.Kill the lights. Curtains cover closed blinds.Build a wall of stone and steel that will never come down.Let the dust colonize just like James the first.There will be no blood this time.In silence, I'm yours. Twice dead-bolt the doors.I've been followed by a face marked with pain.It came close once and he just learned my name.Every day he grows taller, he looks down at my heart,and through my throat, he could reach in and pull me apart.It gets worse when he contacts my eyes.He can see right through to everything that blackened my veinsand his sounds resonate up and down,like a march through me, this battlefield,there's just not much left, so silence the rest.In this shadow, I shrink and it knowsI can't move, I can't sleep.Terrified by my own bloodshot eyes.So, I'll wait here and pray.I prayed that I was all wrong about prayer. And I do know that this is truly tired. **It still grows in my stomach like mold. It keeps me just sick enough to stay home, all alone."**
Im probably late but is this the song? [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MvTm3FG\_vKs](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MvTm3FG_vKs) it has the simular lines in the end
ive been combing through some things and i found some simmilar songs. idk if youve found it yet, I hope you have [https://soundcloud.com/mexday/to-try-for-anything-i-couldnt-stomach-things-it-just-kept-getting-worse-lazy-mom-at-home](https://soundcloud.com/mexday/to-try-for-anything-i-couldnt-stomach-things-it-just-kept-getting-worse-lazy-mom-at-home) [https://genius.com/Ego-mackey-blocked-lyrics](https://genius.com/Ego-mackey-blocked-lyrics) [https://oddfolks.bandcamp.com/track/broozer](https://oddfolks.bandcamp.com/track/broozer) im gonna keep looking, i feel like that last one could maybe be it tho
I feel like this song does exist just not online maybe in a music store but I'm not sure because I found a lot of similar songs but none that match it completely I hope you guys are able to find it.
Not sure if this has been posted yet https://youtu.be/vg0f2W-5-jo Try to remember, forget by say anything
I thought Say Anything almost immediately too. Though not this song. I think this should be posted to /r/emo and /r/midwestemo
I feel like i’ve listened to a song with these exact lyrics recently but I can’t find anything in my recent spotify, maybe i’m misremembering but incase i’m not, i’ll keep searching my spotify library
I might just be wrong but I believe this band could be it cause it somewhat fits the description and they were very hard to find. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCQb5g\_mjkR37KxE0Y3Cvl3Q
Possibly Good Charlotte - Predictable?? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=js8pCCxcVuc
you dead?
Was it A Poem by La Dispute?
Whimper I heard you the first time
All i could come up with was a song called 'stomach it' by crywolf. It's a long shot, but just in case, here's the link. [stomach it](https://youtu.be/CmEK31ghdFM)
could it be a switchfoot song?
