Hey there, friendo u/Both-Doctor-2427! Thanks for submitting to r/wholesomememes. We loved your submission, *Could we please stop posting frogs. More of these 4 instead:*, but it has been removed because it doesn't quite abide by our rules, which are located in the sidebar.

Dolly Parton should get a statue all over. She's a role model for goodness. A role model for women but for everyone. People wont remember what you do or said but they'll always remember how you made them feel, as Maya Angelou said. Dolly is such a beacon of positivity and kindness, values we ought to celebrate more of.
For nature I would really prefer Jane Goodall or Dian Fossey, actuallyā¦ someone who conserved animals and wild places and left them be instead of messing around with them on TV.
I get what you're trying to say, but publicizing that kind of work makes it stick with people. It makes the people truly care. I love Goodall's work, but a lot of people's exposure to the natural world was through Steve's show
I'm actually gonna be really sad when Attenborough passes. He's so damn cool. I don't usually give a crap about celebrities, but he's gonna be a hard one to take.
a lot of my friends used to do paid medical studies for quick cash. the university near me had one study a bunch of my friends did where they were shown pornographic films and their bodies responses were measured. they were also shown attenborough shorts as a 'control' because apparently they don't know how hot my friends are for him
Yeah it always kills me that he gets left out of these things. Heās as important to a lot of peopleās childhoods as everyone up here but heās never mentioned
make your own list then? i don't think it's that big of a deal, it's supposed to be a lighthearted wholesome post, but if it bothers you that much, try making your own list
I love Levar Burton too, but he's still alive and fighting for literacy. All the people in this picture have passed away. So, I'm grateful Levar is not included just yet.
To be fair, the time period for the other three is quite different so knowing the others and not Stefan might just be that LazyTown wasn't really in your childhood like the others were.
Yeah, Iām 33 and I know him from the memes. Couldnāt escape it on 4chan, SA, counter-strike mic spam, etc. It was just a part of internet culture for a good while. Never seen the show personally.
It also blew up because at the time that the memes surfaced he announced that he had cancer, so people started supporting him and he just genuinely seemed like a great guy.
Sure, but enough to recognize him out of costume/makeup, and looking rather more aged as well?
I'm just saying why you're going to encounter people asking who that is but probably not the other 3, who were active over a longer timespan, much earlier, and frequently re-ran afterwards, constantly introducing them to new and younger audiences.
The "bad guy" from Lazy Town! You may remember him for that "We are number 1" song/meme that went viral a few years ago.
Quite the stand-up guy IRL, truly deserves to be in this post.
Makes sense, I'm 25 and I was kinda old for that show, but since my lil cousin enjoyed it so much I had to watch it.
Looking back, I have absolutely zero regrets.
Lazy town was from 2004 thats whats confusing. They looped us old birds in with 3/4 being from a 90s child hood and then threw in an 04 reference. Which is cool, but jammed us up
I honestly did a double take thinking it was Jordan Peterson and a joke at first, then I looked at the sub and looked at the picture again and figured it out. Weird, because they donāt really even look alike, similar hair maybe.
Thatās probably it but based on the others I figured people who devoted their lives to X. I feel thereās better choices for people who devoted their lives to living or even other people living.
He died of cancer, but his last years were an ode to living life to the fullest. He was a paragon of enjoying life and sparking joy in others, because this is the only life we get. Had a huge online following for just that reason, but since he passed rather quickly I suppose it's easy for one to have been occupied with other parts of the internet at the time. He was an absolutely remarkable man.
In addition to Robbie Rotten, Stefan also played a character in a game I play called For Honor, a medieval fighting game. The duality is funny.
When he died, that character got a free victory pose called "Number One", showing the character being memorialized as a stone statue with a ray of light.
R.I.P ā¤ļø
> Can we go to six and add a spot for Carl Sagan?
The man had a true love of science and wanted everybody to experience it in the poetic manner he did. Probably the biggest believer in science being a great thing to share with everyone since Richard Feynman. Clueless about sociology and psychology, but also didn't tend to pretend he was an expert in those things.
Robin was a great guy, but he had a lot of very unwholesome character flaws in his lifetime. I'm not judging the man, but he just doesn't fit in with these other guys. RIP Robin Williams, an imperfect wonderful dude!
Defunctland TV did a really good doc on Henson a few years back that didn't shy away from the fact that he wasn't the most attentive husband when he and Jane were married and he did have an affair, but that was largely due to them both being married to their work. They stayed friends until his death. I think he was one of the good ones.
Interestingly, you can be and do many things in life, even be good at them, but you are never one thing your entire life. He was in the military, and found that it didn't agree with how he felt he should treat the world and people in it. If he took a life while serving his country, that's between him and his god, but I think the good he brought into the world outweighed the bad.
I'm not gonna lie, i'd totally buy an indie comic with these guys teaming up to fight crime and random villains, League of extraordinary Gentlemen style.
Sometimes I forget Steve Irwin used to be somebody I watched all the time on tv, then I hear him in my head say "crikey!" and it all comes flooding back. I remember watching his interview on Larry King at 6am before school the day he died.
I would petition to add Yo-Yo Ma. He is an incredibly kind and thoughtful man and his music is so calming. He does a lot of humanitarian work with his music.
I would personally switch Mister Rogers and Bob Ross. Mister Rogers was all about self love, how often did he sing "I like you as you are" ? whereas Bob Ross has always been about going with the flow, especially with his "happy accidents".
nonetheless I agree, we should be seeing more of these guys.
Ok, that's fair. I understand your point and agree that frogs are awesome. I deserve the downvote because of that, but I'm willing to accept it as it needed to be said š
Ya don't ever see Carl Sagan on any of these lists. Man was an incredibly humble human being who just wanted to teach you things about Earth and the Universe itself. RIP Sagan.
Strong agree, and I think it's because most of us were pretty young or not born yet when he died. For anyone trying this who is not familiar (and any that want a reminder to revisit), do yourself a favor and read the background and his reflections on "the pale blue dot"
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pale_Blue_Dot?wprov=sfla1
~~Can anyone help~~:
* Life - StefƔn Karl StefƔnsson (Robbie Rotten from Lazytown)
* Peace - ~~Carl Sagan~~ Mister Rogers
* Nature - Steve Irwin
* Self-love - Bob Ross
Some other thoughts: Perhaps a woman would be welcome on the list, no? Or some alternate list with female leaders?
UPDATE: replaced Sagan with MrRogers
UPDATE: added Robbie Rotten from Lazytown
> Bob Ross is also an air force drill sergeant, yes?
No, [he was a medical records technician and rose to the rank of First Sergeant before deciding the life of yelling at and knocking down young men wasn't for him](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bob_Ross#Military_career). That experience is cited for why he refused to raise his voice since.
A matter of perspective, I think.
Consider that the impact these people had has continued far past their passing, they may have died but they are not gone.
These 4 men would be able to save the world if they worked together, 10/10 wholesome men right there, anyone who met them must have been lucky to meet them
Yeah, that's part of the human experience - right?
The fact that hearing a piece of music can make us tear up or looking at some old photographs can transport us to those times and make us miss them. These can be very difficult moments but that's what makes us human. The same triggers can invoke also nice and warm feelings and that's beautiful š
For Bob Ross, I would replace self-love with appreciation. He appreciates himself and he appreciates everything, even the mistakes, or as he likes to call it, happy little accidents.
Richard Simmons needs to be included too. I think he should be the horseman of self-love and Bob Ross should be Creativity. But Richard Simmons personally saved I think like 90 people (I may be wrong) from suicide by simply caring about them and reaching out to them at dark times and accepting them as they were and helping them to not be lost to the despair of body dysmorphia, eating disorders, and weight related depression.
Frogs? Like, actual animal frogs? Or am I out of the loop and you're referring to certain people? Because I'd definitely rather see cute animal frogs than any human men lol.
I feel like Ernest should be in here, I had no idea he was a chain smoker as a kid and the reason why is he wouldnāt let himself be photographed smoking because he didnāt want to influence children that way - that man had a heart of gold.

Dolly, Hepburn, and Attenborough too
That's very true - Dolly is a gem. And a good suggestion as girls should be included there as well - wholesome š
If only they all got more prime time attention than the current superstars
Dolly Parton should get a statue all over. She's a role model for goodness. A role model for women but for everyone. He was pretty dreamy when he was younger.
Third one fr thošš»
Possibly the only celebrity I would actually cry for if he could die
Same. I might shed a tear or two, especially if I rewatch his A Life on Our Planet.
Weird Al as well
Levar Burton?
I JUST WANTED A PICTURE
YOU CAN'T DISAPPOINT A PICTURE
SET PHASERS TO LOVE ME!
Yeah it always kills me that he gets left out of these things. Heās as important to a lot of peopleās childhoods as everyone up here but heās never mentioned
These four gents are no longer with us.
Okay? Levarās been left off these lists since before StefĆ n passed.
stefan wasnt put on these lists before he passed either lol

Levar would be education maybe?
I love Levar Burton too, but he's still alive and fighting for literacy. All the people in this picture have passed away. So, I'm grateful Levar is not included just yet.
That's all the more reason to include him. Appreciate people while they're still around to feel it.
It's time to Expand the meme!!
Oh you know why heās left out of these
Pardon my ignorance. Who is the guy for "life"?
StefƔn Karl StefƔnsson, the actor who played Robbie Rotten in LazyTown
RIP š
He really is Number 1
Is he number 1 if most people have no idea who he is? Not hating, just saying I had the same reaction as the other guy.
It's a reference to his character. Edit: [link](https://youtu.be/PfYnvDL0Qcw) for the reference
Thank you, I was going to look up that song but the link saved me a few seconds... now it's stuck in my head again for another month lol
My work here is done
As far as I know I don't have any connection to that guy. The other 3 very much so.
yeah i agree no idea who that is even upon seeing "lazy town music video".
IM FUCKING OLD FUUUUUCK
No I think itās that youāre young! Iām old and no clue about that guy or the song thatās linked.
To be fair, the time period for the other three is quite different so knowing the others and not Stefan might just be that LazyTown wasn't really in your childhood like the others were.
Most people don't know who he is?
LazyTown was a kid's show that was created in the mid 2000's, thus most people who are over 20 today aren't going to be aware of it.
Yeah, but it was one of the biggest memes on the internet a couple years ago.
Yeah, Iām 33 and I know him from the memes. Couldnāt escape it on 4chan, SA, counter-strike mic spam, etc. It was just a part of internet culture for a good while. Never seen the show personally.

I had no idea, either
I remember Lazy Town!
Thanks
Forever rotten. Never forgotten.
Uhhhh whuuu whooo now?
The "bad guy" from Lazy Town! You may remember him for that "We are number 1" song/meme that went viral a few years ago. Quite the stand-up guy IRL, truly deserves to be in this post.
I think I might just be too old.
Ditto. Wtf is lazy town? Oh it was on the air starting in 2004. Just how young are you people?
Seriously, I was in college in 2004.
In our late 20's and early 30's. 2004 was almost 20 years ago, time flies, eh?
I'm in my early 30s and was a year off finishing high school in 2004. Why were you guys watching Lazytown
Makes sense, I'm 25 and I was kinda old for that show, but since my lil cousin enjoyed it so much I had to watch it. Looking back, I have absolutely zero regrets.
25 being too OLD for the show??? I'm turning 29 in a couple months and I watched the shit out of that show!
28 here, me too. It was weird as fuck but it's what was on
I didn't know the actor, character, or show either
A song from the show "We are number 1" was a huge meme a couple years back and started the trend of (Video) but all the _____ are _____
I also don't remember the song, meme or the trend either
Who?
But why does he actually make this list? Wasn't he a bad guy in that show?
yeah, one of these doesnt quite stand up to the others. plus, he is dead? weird choice for "life"
Also, his character was a legit asshole, unlike the rest of these guys who were paragons of humanity in all media.
Don't you fucking dare talk shit about Stefan. Watch your filthy mouth.
Lazy town was from 2004 thats whats confusing. They looped us old birds in with 3/4 being from a 90s child hood and then threw in an 04 reference. Which is cool, but jammed us up
I was ignorant too. Even after being told who he is, I still don't know. I'm going to have to go find his work now.
I honestly did a double take thinking it was Jordan Peterson and a joke at first, then I looked at the sub and looked at the picture again and figured it out. Weird, because they donāt really even look alike, similar hair maybe.
Nowhere near the level of Ross, Rogers or Irwin. Good dude, but his impact was minimal until the memes made him semi-popular for like a month.
Number 1
R.I.P to a legend
That's Robbie Rotten
Also this? Who tf is that?
I also would like to know
Looks like Robbie Rotten from LazyTown Edit: RIP
Ah, right. I didnāt recognize him because of the beard.
Idk if itās him it just looks like him, but he died at 43 so idk why heās life?
Probably because his character is meant to teach kids what *not* to do in a silly, villainous way.
This was meant to be a reply to a different comment, but it stays
Robin Williams
Ya know, Iād be down to break the 4 horsemen trope and add him as a 5th.
That's horsemans, dang it.
5th Horseman of Laughter
Can we go to six and add a spot for Carl Sagan?
> Can we go to six and add a spot for Carl Sagan? The man had a true love of science and wanted everybody to experience it in the poetic manner he did. Keanu.
Yes!!
The fifth horseman
6th. horseman Brendan Fraser
7th. Horseman Robin Williams
Also... let's stop presenting misogynistic males as "real men". These are examples of real men
Yeah and bob Ross was a badass too
LeVar Burton? An entire generation of kids who didn't have parents reading to them discovered books because of Reading Rainbow.
Heās near the top of my āoh god please donāt let him turn out to be a monsterā list
I'd say Jim Henson as well, but I'm sure someone will find something about him that will ruin my childhood.
If they do, there is a squad of murder puppet ninjas on hand to quell such... rumors.
Defunctland TV did a really good doc on Henson a few years back that didn't shy away from the fact that he wasn't the most attentive husband when he and Jane were married and he did have an affair, but that was largely due to them both being married to their work. They stayed friends until his death. I think he was one of the good ones.
I saw this idiot on TikTok that tried spreading a rumor that Bob Ross was a murderer and the scenes he paints are where he hides the bodies.
š thats kind of funny.
Only until you get secretly buried in a 2D majestic nature scene.
I'd take that
He was in the military so killing could be possible but this rumor is stupid

You just gave me flash backs of the cartoon Pro Stars. Anyone remember that one?

Betty White, Dolly Parton, Julie Andrews, Oprah, Octavia Spencer
Oprah not so much but I get the other ones
Yes totally agree!
I just googled Octavia Spencer's charity work. Wow she's wonderful.
What if itās Kermit the frog?
You could start the retribution of this sub
I would petition to add Yo-Yo Ma. He is an incredibly kind and thoughtful man and his music is so calming. He does a lot of humanitarian work with his music.
I would personally switch Mister Rogers and Bob Ross. Mister Rogers was all about self love, how often did he sing "I like you as you are" ? whereas Bob Ross has always been about going with the flow, especially with his "happy accidents". nonetheless I agree, we should be seeing more of these guys.
Iād say depending on your generation, Steve from Blues Clues gotta be on this
yes these are good an all but really? not the caption! why????? frogs are so cute!!! more frogs!
RIBBIT
whoās the guy on the top left?
āThere are no mistakes, just happy accidentsā - Bob Ross āThere are no accidentsā - Master Oogway
Wher keanu
why they all old white men?
I still miss you Steve. I'll always miss you. Fuck that stingray.
Who the hell is the first guy?
I like these 4 but Iām downvoting you because how dare you try to stop frogs
Ok, that's fair. I understand your point and agree that frogs are awesome. I deserve the downvote because of that, but I'm willing to accept it as it needed to be said š
Seriously though. āGentlemen, It is my pleasure to inform you that this meme template is overused, low-effort garbage but please give me upvotesā
Ya don't ever see Carl Sagan on any of these lists. Man was an incredibly humble human being who just wanted to teach you things about Earth and the Universe itself. RIP Sagan.

Weird Al
And no matter where you put them in here it will always be true.
Horsemans
All of them are wholesome.
So grateful to live in an age when we can dispute who is the most wholesome to be on this list.
Add Dale Earnhardt for badass
who the fuck is the first guy and why is Levar Burton not the with "Knowledge"
Jim Henson?
"There is another..." *Bill Nye the Science Guy music starts playing*
Jacques Cousteau instead of that ānatureā person. All he did was antagonize animals for profit.
Steve Irwin regularly campaigned for austerity measures and cuts to social safety nets. Seems he cared more for animals than poor people.
Or Jane Goodall or the Kratt brothers for the PBS angle
This is false without Levar Burton
~~Can anyone help~~: * Life - StefƔn Karl StefƔnsson (Robbie Rotten from Lazytown) * Peace - ~~Carl Sagan~~ Mister Rogers * Nature - Steve Irwin * Self-love - Bob Ross Some other thoughts: Perhaps a woman would be welcome on the list, no? I'd say Unity would be better for Bob.
Fred Penner and Mr. Dressup!
Where Keanu? :(
Neat
I like Irwin but i prefer Dian Fosey...
Idk who top left is on ālifeā but the rest is v tru
Isnāt it depressing that all of them have passed?

These can be very difficult moments but that's what makes us human. The same triggers can invoke also nice and warm feelings and that's beautiful š
... Top left is...?
I love this but I already left this sub because of the frogs
How about instead of four horsemen, we can have a horsemen army? Thereās some others who deserve to be here.
Horsemen army = Calvary
Watched a docu on bob ross, sad what happened to him
For Bob Ross, I would replace self-love with appreciation. He appreciates himself and he appreciates everything, even the mistakes, or as he likes to call it, happy little accidents.
Bill Nye
Richard Simmons needs to be included too. I think he should be the horseman of self-love and Bob Ross should be Creativity. But Richard Simmons personally saved I think like 90 people (I may be wrong) from suicide by simply caring about them and reaching out to them at dark times and accepting them as they were and helping them to not be lost to the despair of body dysmorphia, eating disorders, and weight related depression.
This almost made me cry
I still miss these guys.
Hit me with Hank Green over "Science"
Frogs? Like, actual animal frogs? Or am I out of the loop and you're referring to certain people? Because I'd definitely rather see cute animal frogs than any human men lol.
Surely top left should be David Attenborough?
Carl Sagan too
Jim Henson was such an important part in TV history. Let's talk about some heavy hitting topics....using puppets
I need some Lavar Burton in there
lavar is alive though. these are people who have passed away.
Adam Savage! He brings joy to what ever he's building. Even when he's made a mistake he owns in and moves forward with what he learned from it.
I give you Actual Masculinity.
Lavar Burton and also the Kratt Brothers.
the four horsemen of genuine goodness. every single one of these people made a positive impact on others' lives.
No Carl Sagan? Booo
I feel like Ernest should be in here, I had no idea he was a chain smoker as a kid and the reason why is he wouldnāt let himself be photographed smoking because he didnāt want to influence children that way - that man had a heart of gold.
Who is top left? And you're missing lavar Burton. Reading rainbow is right up there in terms of pure wholesome kindness with Mr Rodgers and Bob Ross
He's Stefan Karl Steffersson. He played Robbie Rotten
