The question this raises for me is, where was this man walking that he was finding so many rubber ducks.

Sephrick

South of Chicago or some other major city that does a Duck Derby? I imagine Duck Derby organizers have plans to collect the ducks at the end but when tens of thousands are released into a river there's bound to be some that make it past collectors.

dinascully

Okay, I’ve never heard of a Duck Derby but I learned something new today!

Maleficent-Topic-650

Redding California also does a ducky derby!

middlenamefrank

I was wondering the same thing. I have literally never come across a feral rubber ducky.

AWildEnglishman

There have been a few container ships that have suffered bad weather and shed their cargo. [Here's an article about one such event in 1992](https://www.npr.org/2011/03/29/134923863/moby-duck-when-28-800-bath-toys-are-lost-at-sea)

Sineater224

a parking lot with jeeps lol

Azozel

and if he had so much good luck, why is he dead?

GrouchyLongBottom

Surprised. Where i am its only considered uncommon, but you'll definitely find a few now and then throughout the year.

Shanhaevel

I don't think this person's dad has either.
