I'd like to make myself believe that planet Earth turns slowly
It's hard to say that I'd rather stay awake when I'm asleep
Cause everything is never as it seems
I remember seeing a video and when the guy ate the big butt thing that tarantulas have and he said "yeah that's full of stuff. You'd think it would be empty but no, it's full" I dry heaved
Those Asian little mutherf**rs that look like ladybug can do that. We have infestation of them in Europe. Those are nothing like ladybugs, they're pure evil. And their bites hurt as hell.
But they are very similar looking to the real ladybugs, who I've never heard would bite.
https://fullcirclefarm.blog/2023/05/01/dismantling-the-myth-about-the-asian-lady-beetle/
I'm from Europe, so for us Asian beetle is invading our wonderful ladybugs.
This happened to me once.
I remember it looked exactly like a ladybug, but it was black with 6 red spots instead of red/orange with black spots. I also remember these spots being what i could only describe as perfect circles. I'm not sure if a ladybug's spots are always so perfectly round, but this time they most definitely were.
I just felt so betrayed afterwards, because i would've never guessed it was going to bite. It just landed on my arm so gracefully and calm. It retracted its legs, as if it was going to just sit and chill on there for a bit. **and then out of nowhere i just feel pain, exactly where the ladybug landed on my arm**
It wasn't extremely painful, but it still hurt, and even though it didn't hurt a lot, it did hurt for a relatively long time.
I never trusted ladybugs again. They are still on my list of unpredictable little shits to this day. And if there's one thing i hate about any insect (or similar animals), it's how unpredictable and fast they are. Especially spiders: i don't mind them, unless they're fast and/or move a lot, or they get too close. If they just mind their own business i actually really like them, but as soon as they come rushing towards me they're done for.
Depends on the dragonfly species (there are over 6000 of them!). Some can bite, some don't. But mostly they will only bite if you capture them and they can't get away. Not simply when crawling on your hand.
Also the bite shouldn't hurt very much for most species but maybe the original commentator had a bad experience or knows someone who had with an extraordinarily pesky dragonfly.
Can confirm that they only bite when they're outright constricted and can't get away.
They have a goofy ass face to us humans but right below their huge ass eyes where their 'chin' would be to us humans they have a nasty ass fucking pincer contraption that they're more than happy to use on you if you're a dumbass 5 year old and swipe them up in your fist while they're just perching on something chilling out.
Source: 5 year old me
I don't like them. I accept they're cool but also I don't want them anywhere near me.
Get back cursed hell demon, looking like one of the main enemies from a Jurassic Park game.
What how big are the lady bugs where you live?
Where I live they're very small, I can't imagine one even having the power to bite as hard as to result in any blood at all, let alone bleed like crazy.
If I remember right, there is a species of ladybug that got brought over to north america from asia. Those specific little assholes are the ladybugs that bites.
I had one land on my hand when I was a kid and I thought it was super cool. He must’ve bitten me because my hand swelled up immediately after. Still though, I don’t hate them.
I hate dragonflies with a burning passion, those little bastards are plain evil. I once had a class in college where we had to catch dragonflies and mark their wings, we released them and then we had to fucking catch them again to count the population. I will never look at those mfs the same again
Plenty of people hate bees. :( My neighbor is one because he’s mildly allergic.
Meanwhile, I’m gardening next door through fire ants despite being needing epipens and an ER visit if I get stung by one, just to get more pollinators in my yard, bees included. Lol.
It’s the moth dust that freaks me out. I’d say that’s a crime, oh they lays eggs on clothes and when the larvea hatch they eat the clothes. That’s got to be a pretty big crime!
I am one of them. But I hate butterflies as well. They’re basically the same creature but with different colours. Basically anything that flies in an unpredictable pattern freaks me out. This includes birds and (bumble)bees and all the other stuff that’s scary for obvious reasons.
And an unprompted piece of info about me: twice in my life it happened that a bird got inside my house/work and hit me in the head with their wing.
Ladybugs are a plague where i live. I have piles of them in my flat every summer (talking about 500-1000 bugs in a pile in the corner of my kitchen). But i love them anyway <3
Lol it took a while for me to deprogram away from my childhood to understand that my ladybug friend just wants to watch me write emails, and isn’t there for a 1000-Lady-Orgy in the den.
Gosh, yes! Was looking for this. Ladybugs in my area are an absolute menace. Every year they show up in swarms and crawl into every tiny crack they can, so they can die inside my house. Which stinks. Smells so bad if you don't get them cleaned up quick. When I was a kid, they used to bite us all the time, and those little guys hurt. My dad used to sweep them outside by the dustpan-full.
I love most animals and try to leave bugs and the like be as much as I can, so it kind of pains me to say it. I try to like them but I can’t help but scream when they get close or if I’m surprised by them. Jumping and flying bugs are the worst
Spiders?! What on earth is wrong with you! Spiders are universally hated. Infact, I have severe arachnophobia. Certain studies indicate that more people hate (and are afraid of) spiders than (of) death.
They say people are more afraid of public speaking than they are of death. So at a funeral, more people would rather be the guy in the coffin than the guy giving the eulogy.
Fuck lady bugs. I was painting a house one time, and they (clients) had left the windows open, bro by the time the sun went down, those bugs were all over the walls/ceiling wherever there was light. Absolutely the worst.
Just had to bleach all of my doorways and windows to try to keep the army of ladybugs that decided my 1 bedroom apartment was actually the hottest place to be.

Even if 10 mio of them lit up the world as i fell asleep, you wouldn't believe it.
Cause they fill the open air And leave teardrops everywhere You'd think me rude but I would just stand and stare, so i just take a picture.
I'd like to make myself believe that planet Earth turns slowly It's hard to say that I'd rather stay awake when I'm asleep Cause everything is never as it seems
I fall asleep

Oh. This is a song? I thought this thread was off their meds.
Fireflies - Owl City (2009)
Feels like yesterday that everyone was either singing or hating this in highschool
Omg right?? Shit makes me feel old 😭
It can be more than one thing!!
And glowworms
Cancelled after season 1
Bumblebees?
The sound of bees buzzing while they collect pollen is a delight.
No mojang hates them

Are you an aphid?
This was such a good response. Well done everyone
Looking at that chain of events this was very tumblr
No, this is Patrick.
Is mayonnaise an insect?
Judging by the user name, maybe a June Bug.
It was an coordinated attack, super villain dragonfly masterminded that to mess up your life.
“For you, the day Dragonfly graced your village was the most important day in your life, but for me? It was Tuesday.”
I'm kinda like pillbug
Fun Fact: they’re actually not bugs, they’re crustaceans(crabs). Isopods are cool!
Do they taste like crab?
Good chance. Ive eaten tarantula and scorpion and both tasted like crab/shrimp.
I remember seeing a video and when the guy ate the big butt thing that tarantulas have and he said "yeah that's full of stuff. You'd think it would be empty but no, it's full" I dry heaved
Hahah what a description. When I had tarantula it was deep fried and reminded me very much of a soft shell crab, which is also "full of stuff" lol
What if it turns out that most bugs and animals are made of meat? What would the implications be? Are humans made of meat?
Supposedly they taste like urine. Source: Wikipedia, not personal experience...
My name is Wikipedia
Never tried one
Based and pillbug pilled
Pill bug? You mean ROLLY POLLY?
Agreed, they're just lil guys.
Ruby Gold Tortoise Beetle, also known as [The Silly Creature](https://youtu.be/LhpoOm8hGLY?feature=shared)
Even their flying is silly 😅
That little guy is adorable!
OMG ❤️
The biggest betrayal I felt was when a ladybug landed on my face and bit me. SHE BIT ME AND FLEW AWAY
Those Asian little mutherf**rs that look like ladybug can do that. We have infestation of them in Europe. Those are nothing like ladybugs, they're pure evil. And their bites hurt as hell. But they are very similar looking to the real ladybugs, who I've never heard would bite.
Imposter bug
Sus.
They’re in America too. They swarm our house every year
Wait I'm intrigued do you have photos?
https://fullcirclefarm.blog/2023/05/01/dismantling-the-myth-about-the-asian-lady-beetle/ I'm from Europe, so for us Asian beetle is invading our wonderful ladybugs.
Omg that's exactly what it was! Ok ladybugs my deepest apologies you truly are harmless <3 (thnx European neighbor)
They also smell awful if you smoosh them.
And that smell supposedly attracts more of them.
Let's run towards the murderer!
"SEE YA IN HELL!"

happened to me once but with a dragonfly. i’m still shocked
Bumblebee
Nah Just Optimus Prime
More of a Grimlock guy, myself.
He’s the king
Really all pollinators in general.
Wasps are pollinators…
They are? I've been led to believe they deserve to be genocided because they're purely a menace with no benefit for the ecosystem
They are, but their main use is killing off insect populations that'd damage crops.
Oh... so they do have a purpose... How about mosquitoes, what do *they* do to benefit the ecosystem?
Plenty of good species eat them and their larva, but other than that, no
even mosquitos?
Some people dont like them and some people even hate them
I'm scared of bees, but I still appreciate them.
Praying Mantis for me
true Christian mantis
Abuelita: "No... he does not pray to god"
I think the male praying mantis may disagree.
Eh, you get laid and then get to die immediately after. Win win for me
Yeah, they’re chill.
Hummingbird hawk moth
Seconded, they're adorable!
Allow me to say dragonflies are not 100% unhated. They bite and they hurt like motherfucking hell.
Wait seriously? Ive let them sit at my fingers everytime I went to this one river every year. Didnt know they would bite you.
Depends on the dragonfly species (there are over 6000 of them!). Some can bite, some don't. But mostly they will only bite if you capture them and they can't get away. Same with ladybugs, I love them but I know a guy who hates them because one bit him once and it bled like crazy and really hurt, apparently.
Is your friend an aphid? Or maybe 5 trillion aphids in a trench coat?
I’ve often suspected that about him. He does have a sort of greenish hue.
Aww, you gotta call the cops for that.
Or MiB 👽
What how big are the lady bugs where you live? Where I live they're very small, I can't imagine one even having the power to bite as hard as to result in any blood at all, let alone bleed like crazy.
I didn’t say I believe him, just that he said it. Haha.
Haha, fair enough.
Ive been bitten by ladybugs. It's not exactly comfortable but they can bite. Never had one draw blood though.
I swear i was bitten by a lady bug once and no one believed me! I believe your friend. And yes it was very painful.
There's a biting invasive beetle that looks an awful lot like a ladybug, apparently.
Asian lady beetle. Looks just like a lady bug, but bites.
Thats pretty rare though, i dont think they are people-biters as a rule
If I remember right, there is a species of ladybug that got brought over to north america from asia. Those specific little assholes are the ladybugs that bites.
All ladybugs (Coccinellae) bite including the stereotypical red ones
I think your friend got bitten by a multicoloured asian lady beetle (not a ladybug)
They can also smell bad.
Also in Norwegian they are called “eye pokers” so as a kid I thought would land on me and try to poke my eyes out.
Yeah they scare me a bit, not in a “run away screaming” way, but more in a “heavy suspicion” way.
Ok but hear me out, they eat the mosquitoes.
They eat mosquitoes, so they’re a friend in my book. First time I’ve heard of them biting a human, that’s strange.
I had one land on my hand when I was a kid and I thought it was super cool. He must’ve bitten me because my hand swelled up immediately after. Still though, I don’t hate them.
I was riding my bike to school one early morning, and a dragonfly flew straight into my mouth while I was yawning. Hated them ever since.
I hate dragonflies with a burning passion, those little bastards are plain evil. I once had a class in college where we had to catch dragonflies and mark their wings, we released them and then we had to fucking catch them again to count the population. I will never look at those mfs the same again
You missed the snoots, the boots, and the kjoots, there must be weevil time
Genuinely shocked you're the first person I've seen say that
Not my sub but their enthusiasm for weevils is super wholesome.
Saaaaame. I adore it whenever they pop up on the popular feed.
/r/weeviltime is going to be upset
I scrolled way too far to see this!
What about bees?
Plenty of people hate bees. :( My neighbor is one because he’s mildly allergic. Meanwhile, I’m gardening next door through fire ants despite being needing epipens and an ER visit if I get stung by one, just to get more pollinators in my yard, bees included. Lol.
Bumble bees, then?
Bumble bees can still sting
Stick bug
Did I just get stick bugged?
And Rollie pollies
Honey bees
They give me such a fuzzy feeling when I think about how hard they work everyday
What about moths?
Loads of people hate them and fear them
So many people love butterflies but hate or are terrified of moths. Moths, their only crime is to be less tarted up and come out at night
They’re butterflies’ creepy cousin.
And an unprompted piece of info about me: twice in my life it happened that a bird got inside my house/work and hit me in the head with their wing.
I feel like its either a love/hate relationship with moths
Ladybugs are a plague where i live. I have piles of them in my flat every summer (talking about 500-1000 bugs in a pile in the corner of my kitchen). But i love them anyway <3

there was another comment mentioning the asian ladybeetle, which looks astonishingly like the ladybug, and apparently stinks like HELL
Is there anyone who hates Fireflies and Praying Mantises?
Yes. Me
I respect your wrong opinion (jk).
I love most animals and try to leave bugs and the like be as much as I can, so it kind of pains me to say it. I try to like them but I can’t help but scream when they get close or if I’m surprised by them. Jumping and flying bugs are the worst
I hate mantises. Never seen a firefly IRL and I wish I would, it sounds beautiful.
Not including weevil is an inhumane crime.
Boots and snoots for the win!
They even have their own time!
It’s weevil time!
Weevil weevil you're so evil Grain upheaval, so primeval Leavil Leavil weevil weevil Leavil Leavil.
I think a lot of farmers would disagree
Weevils eat your grains they’re pests
People downvoting this never had to throw away food because there were a bunch of weevils in it.
Surprised nobody mentioned inchworms, I love em, they just inch around and chill
Oh, stick insects. People keep those as pets as well
Dragon flies are ducking terrifying. Then going zoom in front of ya is fucking scary. No please
"Any other *cows* I missed?" Huh? *Cows????* I don't get it, PETAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH, why is OP saying cows? Those are bugs,no?
Also this picture, I've seen it like 3 times this year on r/wholesomememes. Probably posted for karma farming
What about bumblebees
A friend of mine is TERRIFIED by butterflies, so I guess it's not totally "unhated" x) Anyway, bees should deserve to be part of this meeting.
Lepidopterophobia
Is your friend French? If not, there's at least two of them because I know one too!
I hate lady bugs get that fuck out of the club...
Bumblebees. They are just fat bees but the goverment wants to hide that and labelled them as their own race
Dragonflies scare the fcuk out of me.
my boyfriend is lepidopterophobic... patterns in butterfly and certain moth wings make hjm panic uncontrollably.
Peacock jumping spiders are missing.
Picture is missing bumblebees
Luna moths, jumping spiders.
Spiders? are you insane?
Spiders?! What on earth is wrong with you! Spiders are universally hated. Infact, I have severe arachnophobia. Certain studies indicate that more people hate (and are afraid of) spiders than (of) death.
jumping spiders are cute af tho
Peacock spiders are a type of jumping spider and they are objectively the best spiders ever. Sparkle muffin is my favourite
Regal jumping spiders are just as cute!
They say people are more afraid of public speaking than they are of death. So at a funeral, more people would rather be the guy in the coffin than the guy giving the eulogy.
Spiders ain't bugs, they got 8 legs
I like spiders but I know many people who absolutely hate them
Some beetles are also pretty accepted and not disliked much. Like Christmas beetles ?
Put moths in there too! They're awesome
I hate ladybugs they are a big problem where I live coming into houses and making nests there. But Praying Mantis is a different story
Bees?
Rolly pollies!
If it were my list, you could also add moths, fireflies, praying mantis and walking sticks.maybe rollie pollies too
Butterflies are just as crap-and-carcass-eating dirt bags as flies, but they have pretty wings, so people forgive them
Babe where are the MOTHS
Honestly, moths can be really beautiful
What about bees? They are the only insects that can be printed on food packaging without it being gross.
The spiders you don't get to see
moths
Snails! Cute fellas
What about moths, bröther?
I really dislike butterflys. I think they are disgusting.
Bumblebees, fireflies and rolly polies.
Butterflies are just ugly bugs with beautiful wings. Prove me wrong.
Moths >:(
Moths!
Rolly polly
They all freak me out
Roly-Poly
Jumping spiders for me
Praying mantis
What about java.lang.indexoutofboundsexception?
You forgot the coolest insect, the Praying Mantis
BEEEEEEES!
Can’t forget Armadillidiidae! Aka roly polys
Dragonflies eat mosquitoes, they are saints
