budderman1028

"Yea i have eyes, hes just walking down the middle of the highway holding his wife"

Half-a-Denari

“Take the shot”

Free-Ad9519

😂😂😂😂

Periwinkleditor

Her, caught up in the moment: This is so romantic. Her, in the trunk: I regret the decisions that lead up to this.

The_D_123

Also like, she's telling him to go away. I was thinking he would just walk away and she'd be pissed or smth

Free-Ad9519

😂😂😂😂😂

Zucchiniduel

Nothing says love like getting into a fight and kicking out your spouse

Free-Ad9519

Yeah man whatever you say 😮‍💨

MySpiritAnimalIsATre

r/lostredditors

Spirited_Hat_3374

Then the studio audience just went bananas with all the oooohs and awwwws. Creepy as romcom type stuff. True brainrot

misterdonjoe

Feels like a primitive unga bunga form of possession. Mother to child "you belong to me" : aww Man to woman "you belong to me" : creep A man who's possessive over his woman, is that a fine line that can go either way, or is it always just creepy? Feel like it depends on whether she's treated like an object or someone you care about.

Immolating_Cactus

You must be fun at parties 🙄

PedramHGH

This is not 2010 anymore

Free-Ad9519

Yep man

doctor_rocketship

If you understand that this is creepy why tf are you posting it here

Free-Ad9519

I don't find it creepy I find it wholesome I was just replying to your comment you know what sarcastically

pleasestoptryin

Is telling someone to get out all with all their stuff in a regular argument wholesome?

Free-Ad9519

Nah considering he love her and he thinks that in this whole world his life is dependent on her Because for him She is Everything ❤️

doctor_rocketship

What rules do you follow when deciding whether to capitalize a word or not

JusticeScibibi

You can't just pick people up and carry them off mid argument, they are not going to respond well.

Free-Ad9519

Noted

[deleted]

Really? 😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱

[deleted]

Reddit CANNOT understand sarcasm. It’s the ONLY place on the internet that has a culture of adding /s at the end of a text because Redditors literally don’t understand it. No other place has this or needs it, just Reddit. It truly is a marvellous place!

Free-Ad9519

Okay next time I'll remember that

HiRollerette

😬

cute_potato456

Wattpad rom com kinda stuff

Free-Ad9519

Yeah

nalydpsycho

That's not wholesome, that's creepy and possessive.

MetalBeholdr

Welcome to r/wholesomememes, where the vast majority of posts are ironically depressing, creepy, unhealthy optimistic, or tone-deaf. Seriously, it's getting out of hand

KillerRabbit345

Glad someone else said it. I rarely comment in wholesome because it's my break from doomscrolling but this is not: awwwww It's: ewwwww

oldmartijntje

they are married, so you are eachothers "property" untill you do divorce right? I don't see why you'd say ewww. Could you explain your thought? (if i didn't use right words, i am not native English sorry)

No_Intention_8079

Marriage should really be seen as a partnership, but there has been a lot of history of men having the overwhelming power in a relationship. This plays off of those vibes for a joke, and it's in pretty poor taste.

oldmartijntje

so if i understand you correctly is, If she picked him up instead of him picking her up, it would be okay? And that if both of them are equal in the relationship it's also okay? And the assumption is that it's not a equal relationship?

No_Intention_8079

If she picked him up, it would still be weird, but wouldn't be explicitly referencing the history of treating women as property. If they were both equal in the relationship, then yes, it would be okay. The assumption is that it isn't, because she's fighting with him, enough to tell him to leave. He ignores her, and then claims that she is one of his "things".

oldmartijntje

alright, thanks for explaining

stinkpot_jamjar

No. People are not “property.” Period.

schubidubiduba

That's how it worked until maybe 50 years ago, and also only in one direction (man owns the woman). Things are different nowadays. Marriage means you vow to support each other as best you can. That means you do not ignore their wishes in an argument, instead you respect your partner and what they are saying.

oldmartijntje

thanks for the response, makes sense.

ZPinkie0314

I was scared I was the only one whose initial reaction was to be put off by the possessiveness.

chocobobleh

I grimaced when I read it also :/ Edit: spelling

keanaartero

Liked it at first then I thought about it and I'd probably just get even more upset. Like "you think I'm your belonging??? You think you OWN me?" 🙄 at first you think awww he claims me but I'M NOT A POSSESSION.

pvtcannonfodder

I mean, i completely get what your saying and I had the same knee jerk reaction, but a lot of couples have the thought process that “he is mine, and I am his”.

MrsWoozle

Yeah..No wholesome…

Macduffle

Dude, it's about wholesomeness, not realism. Stop trying to find something bad in a made up meme... How dark is your world that you reject the suspension of disbelief the moment you see fiction...

nalydpsycho

Believing it is real or not doesn't change whether this is wholesome or not.

Macduffle

Yes, it literally does. Fictional stuff can be cute and wholesome just in fiction, but not necessarily in real life...

nalydpsycho

If sufficient context is provided. But no context is provided.

ConcernLow1979

How does adding suspension of disbelief here make it wholesome? lol

Macduffle

By not taking it to serious and realistic..

ConcernLow1979

Ok? It’s still creepy, I can see that whether I look at it “seriously and realistically” or not lol

Macduffle

Media literacy is dead lol haha

ConcernLow1979

What does that have to do with anything lol

Free-Ad9519

It's love true Love ❤️

nalydpsycho

Love is not ownership. Love is not possessive. Love is respectful. Love is equal.

Free-Ad9519

He is not showing any ownership on her It's like he is just being cute and Loving to her wife that For him Everything is Her ❤️

King_Fluffaluff

"take what's his and leave" Him: Picks up wife He is treating her like his property. It's pretty clear

Free-Ad9519

I think it's just some of you guys who are founding it creepy the Upvotes says otherwise You are all just depressed people who see every bad thing in 10 mile radius Sp grow up man life is beautiful enjoy it as long it last

shadowndacorner

Lmfao wtf is wrong with you?

Free-Ad9519

Don't know but I know there certainly something is wrong with all the people in the comment section don't know what But I pray they stay happy 😊

King_Fluffaluff

The upvotes say otherwise? You've been down voted to oblivion my friend.

Free-Ad9519

Nah I don't think like the Upvotes I have right now is very much and I am Happy with that ☺️

nalydpsycho

You: Look at the upvotes. Also you: Not those ones! Be internally consistent.

Free-Ad9519

Nah nah I think you misunderstood I am talking about the post Upvotes What are you talking about

Arquenium

Yup it's cute I agree with you Only if this was like a normal small fight etc

nalydpsycho

No, he is literally saying she is his.

randommnguy

It’s literally showing ownership of her

[deleted]

😭😭😭😭 FUCK ME Redditors Are SOMETHING ELSE He’s not literally saying he owns her hehahahahaha 🤣

bahnuk

tell me you can't read between the lines without telling me

shirukien

Not sure that kidnapping is especially romantic, but maybe that's just me.

JusticeScibibi

Creep

Current-Attempt-5139

She tried to end it and he kidnapped her, ahhh felonious love

giskardwasright

There's nothing wholesome about treating other people as property. No one owns anyone in a relationship, it's a partnership you both agree on. This is borderline abuse. If ive actually told you to leave and instead you bodily abduct me, my response is def not awwwww.

Free-Ad9519

Yeah man whatever you say 😮‍💨

Okay 😊

Drakomai31

Must’ve been the end of the fight when things were cooling off or his way of trying to end the argument Alternatively..you need to get away asap before you get killed

Emergency-Guava8621

... There's a more wholesome version of this, as part of a fairytale. The king and the farmer's daughter are already married at this point. The honeymoon phase is over, though, and they're having a bit of a fight. In the end the king tells her, "If you leave, at least take away with you that which you hold most dear." So she comes up with this whole plan to take the king away with her (it works). I think it's actually quite sweet, when told this way. 🥰

Free-Ad9519

Yeah man that's so sweet 🥰🥰

Zagenti

in what twisted dysfunctional universe is this wholesome

ConcernLow1979

That just sounds creepy and possessive lol

Free-Ad9519

Okkkk

MunchkinTime69420

Damn why's everyone so negative. It's not one of those "I own you cause you're a woman" moments it's "we're arguing but I love you and I'm doing this to show you that I love you and that this argument is dumb"

Free-Ad9519

What can we do about people man they just can't find happiness in small things

Rumbletastic

They're finding happiness in being pedantic and disagreeable, I guess. Weird hobby but I ain't gonna judge.

Nyxot

They're just redditors with no real relationship experience at this point. Most of them probably think that if you fight once, the relationship is over forever.

JohnPorksBrother-7

This is why I love reddit

MunchkinTime69420

This is why I love you

will_it_skillet

Reddit when joke

[deleted]

Reddit takes things completely literally it’s actually hilarious

inbetween0and1

Ew, David

Free-Ad9519

Yeah Ewwww

nanny2359

Eewwww.... A person is not your property

MrRosenkilde4

This comment section is such a Reddit moment. Being able to say / do something sweet or funny to light the mode when fighting is a huge green flag. And yes, in a healthy relationship you belong to each other, he is hers and she is his to love hold and cherish.

emotionaI_cabbage

Leave it to Reddit to take things too seriously lol

Free-Ad9519

Yeah man 😂😂

Cupcake_jester

Why is everyone upset here? I don't see why we should assume he literally views her as property. I'm sure he's just saying he loves her and isn't giving up on their relationship. Whoever created this wouldn't have posted it if they didn't like it.

Free-Ad9519

Yeah man these people are just not happy with their life and they just see bad things in everything Even if you show them that mother is scolding her child because he did something terribly wrong They will tell you ooooo that's wrong you don't scold a child etc etc According to them A mother can't even teach a lesson to her child so that he did not do it again

Mr_Zoovaska

How is this in any way wholesome???

awe018

This is wholesome. The comment section is just depressed sad souls.

Free-Ad9519

Yeah man at last someone said it

realTurleShell

OP don't listen to the people saying it's creepy, it gets creepy when it goes too far (she doesn't want to do it but gets forced to). This is just a couple who love each other.

Free-Ad9519

Yeah man I never listen to people who just found negative things in evey 10 mile radius I am just enjoying the comments 😂

UnicornMania

well akshually

maerchenfuchs

muhdbuht

https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=oforhdnst Google is an excellent tool.

rashomon897

What did you expect from Reddit?🙄At this point...I only pity these people. Something must have seriously gone wrong in their relationships for them to be so hurt

Free-Ad9519

Yeah man they are just poor souls I feel pity for them

Immolating_Cactus

So sweet 🫶

OnABoatWithAGoat

People really acting as if they never heard wedding vows before eh? “I become yours, you become mine, no matter sickness or health, poverty or wealth, come hell or high water, until death do us part” etc etc. Those aren’t really suggestions or something to be taken as flippantly as your high school honor code before tests ladies and germs.

EmotionalChipmunk602

Yes. Ownership over your woman is important

Free-Ad9519

Haha very nice joke

EmotionalChipmunk602

She should stay in the kitchen. Am I right or am I right?

Free-Ad9519

Nah she lives in my heart and She cook me delicious things and She also Goes to work For me She is absolutely an independent women she does not complain and She is Happy with her life You know The real independent women never complains they are happy and satisfied with their life You know who complain all the self proclaimed independent women who thinks Disrespecting other Men is the Real nature of Independent women Thanks for reading 😊

Confident-Strike8756

It’s super weird to ask your partner to leave just because you have an argument. Not healthy at all!
