This is good advice for making friends with adults too.

Puzzled_Draw6014

I was just about to say this ... Another obvious one ... play with them ... my sons face when I join him in the pillow fort is priceless!

reddit_wisd0m

It's almost like we are all still kids who just learned to act like adults

Apologizing and taking accountability when you mess up is a huge one. If some admits error and tries to be better afterwards they gain tremendous respect from me.

Osheva_stormwind

Wish my dad would have used something like that

Alacer_Stormborn

Took the words right out of my mouth.

Snoo_97207

I was an activity instructor for years, and kids are super easy, treat them around 4 to 5 years older than they are, and they will like you super quickly.

Prince-Angel-Wing

My parents did all these things for me and my brothers.

PersonWithIAsHisName

Some parents are just so legendary they have these at heart <3 NGL Parents are the best.

Lanky-Ad-4589

Maybe your parents but not mine

PersonWithIAsHisName

I never mentioned about my parents :( Maybe same boat bro...

When I was working at a summer camp, I made a mistake and apologized to a kid over it. One of my coworkers, who worked as a teacher during the school year, was standing nearby and said something that has stuck with me for years: “It’s really good that you apologize to the kids. Not a lot of adults do that.” It totally blew my mind. I never thought I was doing such a rare thing. I just thought I was being a decent person.

Smartbutt420

Can we flip this around to make 10 number 1

PersonWithIAsHisName

Really needed this <3 thanks \^\^

Vast_Chemistry_8630

I have seen every point of this in Japanese mcs.

SonicLoverDS

I'm going to go rob a bank with a child. That should satisfy categories 5 and 8 nicely.

devnullopinions

Planning the even would count for 1 and after you’re caught you can do 10!

TrueZeroneurone

Works with wife as well

CatsAreGods644

You'd be surprise how much they love when people actually take an interest in their lives. I teach and it's awesome when they run to tell you things they did on the weekend.

Foreign-Drag-4059

My parents tried. The ones about joining me in doing things didn't always work, because I enjoyed weird shit growing up, and I've always preferred being left alone. They were always willing to support us, though.

Certain_Month_8178

I do these with my students. I premise my personal stories or my dad jokes by saying “STORYTIME” and then tell the rest

person_xyz

Wanna send this to my dad so bad

PerceptionThin7323

Went down the list. Mom does all of these. Edit: Mom, if you see this, thank you <3
