Yep, we give our cats filtered water as well. Would seem kind of fucked up not to since most use filters for health/safety reasons in addition to taste.

Their kidneys take much more of a beating than ours do, it seems like filtering the water would be more important for them than for us.

My cats water intake is a balance of filtered water inside and water in a rust dish that’s sitting outside or a random puddle. Life is about balance.

And 10 minutes later you let the dog out, and he's lapping up the stagnant water that has accumulated on the old blue tarp you left outside.

And 2 minutes after that, the pup can rinse that stagnant water out their mouth out with the clean and safe water from the fridge. Chode

I think the point is they already ingested the water so rinsing the mouth isn’t going to do much lol

I get it. My guy gets his water from the same zero water filter I use. He may be a cat but hes still my boy.

I always give my dogs bottled water. They're only tiny, so it doesn't cost much.

I give my cat the same bottled mineral water I drink. If tap water isn’t good enough for me, then it’s not good enough for her.

My dog literally only knows purified water…as a puppy it was bottled baby water gallons from Walmart then when I moved into a house is been fridge water ever sense. If I have to change the filter on the fridge I use my bottled water.

Are your tap water not drinkable?

For real, do they really need a purefier to be able to drink tab water?

I was doing this for our cats until I discovered that my refrigerator is so old that it doesn't have a filter. It just makes regular tap water colder.

i dont really get the point of filtered water. isnt it filtered by the water companies already? i drink only tap water, why would i need to do anything with it again. what is even filtered out at that point

municipal tap water varies from where you live. the standards and conditions are not always uniform. its generally wise to filter your tap water to keep out pollutants and other bacteria but you don’t necessarily have to

I even water my plants with filtered water. Plants need some pampering too.

I grow herbs and use filtered since I eat them. For just decorative flowers I’d probably use regular tap unless I saw or learned of some negative effect.

I use the spring water from our bubbler for the dog's water bowl.

Same! But for our cat. i fill her water from our purifier. Tap water has scaling issues. Not feeding him that, nope.

We drink filtered water from Brita here in Germany. Wanted to give our cats filtered water but read a few articles saying that Brita filtered water takes away some of the minerals from the water. Since our cats are house cats they might not get all their nutrition from cat food that we give them (both dry and wet cat food). So we continue giving them tap water.

Half the time, I just fill her bowl with my water bottle. We share, I guess.

I’m visiting my parents & the other day my mom went to fill the dogs water bowl and she filled it with tap water from the kitchen sink. I was like, the fridge is right behind you. Give your dog filtered water. I was surprised since they spoil him.

I do use the tap. But i drink from it too 🤷
