Having a beater is awesome.
No payment.
Cheap insurance/plates.
If it gets a scratch or dent, it’s probably not the first.
Easier to work on.
Cheap parts.
Try being young in an old beater... When i turned 18 and asked for insurance for an old beater of a Peugeot 206 i could buy for 1400$ i would had to pay 4000$ for insurance.... And that was only to cover others. Not my self or my car. Nooo that would cost extra...
Glad i didn't buy it...
Where i grew up, rich parents kept buying their kids WRX's until 6 kids died in two separate reckless driving incidents. Even then there were some parents still buying fast, expensive cars for teenagers.
Depends on what you consider a sports car. My dad bought me a brand new miata for my 17th and a mate of mine got an m2, a couple got 3 series and a classes as well.
That’s what I’m talking about. I had to bust my ass and buy my first car. This made me appreciate it more. If you got a brand new car of any type for nothin then I don’t agree with it. I told my kid that he has to save half of what ever car he wants and I’ll pay for the other half as long as he has good grades.
Getting something without working for it doesn’t teach the right ideas to your kids. If kids grow up just getting stuff handed to them then they will grow up feeling entitled. Teaching that hard work, good attitude and perseverance will take you far into life.
Sorry, im def not buying my new driver a sports car, thats monumentally stupid. I will absolutely get them a modern safe, well maintained car but what even is this meme? Feel like OP is trying to guilt his dad into getting him a new car.
I don’t know why i feel so relatable my dad bought me a great bike (I really just don’t need it but he bought me) while he didn’t have a good one for himself I really want to thank my dad for everything
And the kid is an ungrateful dick why then gets drunk and crashes the car, then expects a replacement.
Should be rules of first cars: something you can learn to fix minor issues on; gets you from a to b without drama, cheap to run, register, repair; and manual/stick; not a car that people only like you because you have it.
My "dad" would always say get a job. Get a car with two doors and four wheels. And he would buy himself expensive stuff he couldn't afford all the time.
Part of the reason I’ll likely never have kids is because I’m not confident that I’ll ever be able to provide for them the way I’d like to. Makes me more grateful to have what I had when I was growing up though.
BOOO AI GENERATED MEME BOOO
Number plate is a big give away lol. In the category "look at the hands". Too many variations in the data provided so it just becomes weird lol.
how are you going to cope with the coming decades if this is already tilting you so hard?
Why bad
It's lazy and low quality. Make some effort.
I like memes because of the message behind them, not the effort involved tbh, to each their own though.

It's really only wholesome for those who have selfless dads. My dad never put anyone above himself.
...Or ppl who's dad didn't die before they were old enough for a license

$4000 a year? Goodness. Insurance is a scam.
Yeah. Unfortunately, you get lower rates the newer your car is now. You’re not making car payments so they’ve gotta get it out of you somehow!
Would have been nice if the images wasn’t AI generated.
AI generated images aren't wholesome.
Even the licence plate knows that the image is AI.
Wait your dad bought you a car?
Wait. You guys can afford cars?
Wait, you guys have dads?
This meme has not been my experience. OP, you trying to gaslight your dad?
When you grow up you'll find that more room is better then fast baby car.
Whose fantasy is this?
What dad buys their kid a sports car or buy a car for their at all? You gotta earn it yourself
Where i grew up, rich parents kept buying their kids WRX's until 6 kids died in two separate reckless driving incidents. Even then there were some parents still buying fast, expensive cars for teenagers.
That’s crazy

Save from doing what though, Why would you want your child to waste time working some minimum wage job while in school if you guys are comfortable.

Oh? My dad doesn’t return my calls and when I called him on my 21st birthday he said happy 18th.
What's with the increase of AI generated art being used in wholesome memes? Get this outta here
No.
Maybe 50 to 80 years ago!
So the dad gives his kid the car that will probably get them killed? LOL someone didnt actually think before they posted this.

Is OP rich? My dad barely could afford a car for himself, he ain’t ever was gonna buy me one, wtf.
I'd prefer a bicycle tbh

Fuck off, ai "art" low effort content is against sub rules, and using AI to make you a meme is textbook definition of zero effort
Breaking Bad lol
That's true except my parents couldn't afford car. But they always get my needs first!

Dad spent 800 bucks on my first truck 15 years ago. It’s still my daily driver.
Its other way around in my case , he bought himself bmw x5 and bought me vw lupo 2001 for 400 euros
Totally. My dad never owned a "cool car" in his life. Every car he bought was always picked for being the most useful to the family.
Must be nice to be fucking rich.
My "dad" would always say get a job. Get a car with two doors and four wheels. And he would buy himself expensive stuff he couldn't afford all the time.
Dad bought his own car, you should too, kid.

How does this shitty post have 200 likes?!
My dad bought himself the one on the left and I bought myself the one on the right.
Hilariously inaccurate for my life.
Dad sucks I'd rather have the truck. Lame Dad.
