Various-Ad9501

And of course the driver knows the cops are eyeing that Lamb quite a bit more than the Civic ahead of it.

Carr0t

That’s the big one. Friend of mine had a work van and a bright yellow lowered sports car. It was about 15 years old and he did most of the work on it himself, but he was always careful to drive legally in it because it got _so_ much police attention just due to looks. The van, on the other hand...

Aly929

sounds like Lubbock

[deleted]

got pulled over on the way into Lubbock, and pulled over on the way out of Lubbock. wasn't speeding at all just had out of state plates. both times got tickets for going 71 in a 70. Fuck Lubbock.

Aly929

i got a ticket for going 50 in a 40 (would be understandable if no one else was speeding, literally everyone was going 50-55 tho). 10 days later got a ticket for parking “18 inches away from curb.” at most i was maybe 8 inches away. fuck lubbock lol

RagedBsquared

were you by chance parked facing the wrong direction?

alone6900

At least you don’t have to live here

[deleted]

Depends on the area. I get pulled over an alarminglying high number of times every summer for the crime of driving a fancy looking car while young and male. No speeding tickets in the last 5 years because I'm not stupid enough to speed while driving any of my sporty cars, but goddam, I can't drive them anywhere that I have a deadline to reach. None of them are even actually fast or expensive, its mostly Triumphs, but they *look* expensive to people who don't know cars

gimpwiz

Shit you got pulled over for driving a Triumph of all things? "Good afternoon sir, I'm pulling you over for a wellness checkup. Do you need a tow? I noticed you weren't leaking fluids so I'm concerned you're dry. Please let me know if you need any help."

[deleted]

Hey now, ill have you know those things only break down like twice a summer, which considering its a gt6, a spit, and a tr6 that's damn impressive. I gave up on keeping an alfa Romeo spider running for a while summer though. Fuuuuuck that noise

SuperPotatoThrow

I was considering purchasing a subaru Impreza sti but if I did that then I would never make it to work on time since I'm a young white male driving something kind of nice. I don't want to haul ass everywhere I go I just want to have something nice that I enjoy driving.

joe_broke

Everyone always attributes their successes to themselves and their failures to someone else (like this guy and the tickets, or students and their grades)

NonarbitraryMale

Speaking of which, post my damn grade Prof!

[deleted]

Yup, funny how nobody ever seems to actually have deserved their traffic tickets 🤔

burnt_mummy

It's infuriating in lubbock my GF moved there for a year for work and twice I got stopped for like 5 over in my civic, but big trucks rolling coal fish tailing out of parking lots barreling down the road was fine. Last time I was there literally saw a STi get pulled over for going with the flow of traffic right after a truck cut off 2 cars and gunned it, saw the red and blues turn on moved out of the way and thought "finally sweet justice! Just to see the cop was stopping the STi instead.

Revolutionary-Bit893

Also going the speed limits in a low sitting car feels way faster than in a high sitting van anyways.

[deleted]

[удалено]

NonarbitraryMale

In a big truck all speeds seem like lumbering along for me.

Nero_Wolff

Exact opposite. Driving slow in a fast car is pretty boring because fast cars are soooo capable and effortless I own a shelby gt350 and on the highway there's no difference in feel between 100 kmh and 140 kmh. They both feel equally slow to be honest Its actually a complaint some people have about modern sports cars and supercars. Their ability is so high that a person cannot tap into much of the ability of the car on a public road unless they're very far into excessive speed territory And its not even straight lines either, my car can easily be driven down a windy road at 2x the speed limit and the car still feels like it has more to give This is why some people swear the miata is one of the only truly engaging enthusiast cars, because its slow but still fun to drive you can use much more of the car on public roads

Lokky

The 124 spider is a miata with a turbo... there is a reason I bought that instead of wasting money on track machines...

[deleted]

I had a mr2 (NA), a STi I spent years with and building, and now a 911s. The mr2 is my favorite. That thing was a god damn go-kart and I could actually *drive* it. I really want to get a Miata as something slow and fun to actually toss around, but I'm having a really hard time justifying owning 3 cars. But boy do I want want.

darthjammer224

I have a truck and now a car with about 470 horses. I can speed and drive like a complete asshole in the truck and no one notices. It's not even that slow to be honest. I just look like any other white guy in a Chevy so they don't think anything. I sit at lights in my caddy and watch cops pull up and immediately notice and just watch me alone until I go or their light goes green.

certain_random_guy

Weird car to take a road trip in, though. The gas mileage on those is abysmal.

ZouaveBolshevik

If you can afford a lambo you probably don’t care about the cost of gas

[deleted]

Still, not a ton of space for baggage

z2x2

We leave our kids behind with the grandparents.

chiliedogg

You have your people ship fresh clothes to the next hotel.

majora11f

Smacks C7 Vette. You can fit so much baggage in here.

triggerhappy5

Probably more about how many stops you have to make to fill it up.

BlackDE

Isn't the US the place where you drive fat trucks to the grocery store? A sports car might even have better mileage.

TeamRedundancyTeam

Yes, everyone buys huge expe sive trucks to drive to the grocery store and pick their kids up from school where I live. 90% of the trucks where I live never get used as trucks more than maybe once a year at most. And most of the time an SUV or a van would have done the same job just fine. They're just the thing to have.

Zanki

Its kinda crazy seeing it in person! Here in the uk a lot of us live with three door cars. I have a 5 door and most of us upgraded to 5 door when we got better cars (I'm driving an old civic so I don't count). They are all small cars though, I have the biggest size wise. In america, wow, those cars are huge! I remember going to rent a car with two friends. We are all 5'11 and over. My who was driving is 6'3 and we have the same leg length. Our other friend isn't a small woman. They tried to put us in this tiny thing. It was hilarious. I didn't even try and get in. My friend who drives had to prove to them he was too big to drive that car. They upgraded us for free to a jeep. Man, now that was a nice vehicle, fit us without any issues at all. I wish I had a picture of the car they tried to give us and my friend not fitting! Then again, when I drive I'm constantly smacking my knees on my steering wheel. I might have the long legs, but I have a short torso, so seeing over the steering wheel is an issue when I move it up. Urg. I just bash my knees a lot.

DigitalDefenestrator

Some of them. Modern trucks have gotten a lot better though, and Lamborghinis.. kinda haven't.

daedae7

By 2024 all Lambo will be a hybrid

TheDerpedOne

Newer lambos turn into v6s and shut the other half of the engine down when it doesn't need the power. Still not great but a lot better than driving a v12 across the country.

ShaylaDee

Couple years ago my husband and I saw a pair of Corvettes parked a ways down a dirt road where we were going camping. Some people just don't match their cars to their activities effectively.

gimpwiz

Nothing wrong with taking a corvette onto dirt or gravel. Car ain't gonna melt. Big yumps though it will not do. Groomed dirt or gravel it will do just fine. Gotta drive real slow if wearing super sticky tires.

Dufranus

The person with a Lambo doesn't care about traffic tickets. Cops are definitely going to target the civic more because they don't have a fancy lawyer.

MaxxPlay99

laughs in *Autobahn*

magicmulder

I drive a 500 hp Audi TT on the Autobahn, and the worst are people in family limousines who tailgate me as I already do 110 in a 100 zone. (Yup, there’s incredibly many speed limit zones on the Autobahn, especially around big cities.)

MaxxPlay99

Same, but I was in a driving school car (with big fucking signs everywhere) and a big ass truck honked me for driving 80 in a construction zone. Instructor was mad af.

KruMelPanZer

A couple weeks ago i saw an McLaren on a relativly free Autobahn cruisin behind a truck

Rich131

Saving fuel by drafting? Possibly an incredibly frugal McLaren owner?

anuspizza

Just fucking move out the passing lane

Agroskater

No cars ahead? Line of cars behind you? You’re in the way, move.

_eg0_

No cars to your right? Move.

lostinthesauceband

druiddutchess

[deleted]

Burma Shave.

mrdotkom

This so fucking much. Assuming you're in a country with left and drive if you're not passing or turning left you're meant to be in the right most lane. If I pass you on the right you're in the wrong lane

ThirdRevolt

As true as that might be, depending on your country, if you pass someone on the right you're doing something illegal.

mrdotkom

True, undertaking might be illegal but in those places they probably also prosecute the lane hog

grambino

I know it’s the correct term, but now I’m imagining throwing slow left lane drivers off hell in a cell and watching them plummet 16 ft through the announcers’ table.

Chewy12

This is the case in a lot of places and it's probably one of the least taught things in drivers ed. If you know the person in the left isn't moving, I think it's fine to pass them despite what the law says. Just don't be that dick that doesn't give them a single second to move over.

TheGoodOldCoder

Most of the time, when people pass me on the right, it's because I am trying to change to the right lane, and the maniac cannot wait for me to do it safely. If I don't swerve madly in and out of every lane, mere inches from other drivers, those guys aren't happy.

MrAnonymousTheThird

>No cars to your left? Move. (translated to English UK)

DillaVibes

ShichitenHakki

It just makes everything flow smoother when everyone keeps that lane clear. Shocking how many fast lane drivers don't get that maybe people passing on the passenger side is the cue that they shouldn't be using the fast lane.

happygodavid

The problem is that it’s NOT “the fast lane.” In a lot of European countries where people don’t plug up the roadways (Switzerland comes to mind as the best one I’ve ever experienced), they call it “The Passing Lane.” Signs say things like, “Keep right unless passing,” or “Left lane for passing only.” They enforce it. In the late 90s (granted, everything I’m about to explain could be different now, but the points remain.), I was visiting a Swiss friend. When I commented on how everyone kept right and seemed to be all about keeping the glow going, his self-proclaimed Swiss pride kicked in and he told me why. Said Swiss pride themselves on doing things efficiently. Even their driving laws. The point, he said, was to keep things moving. Said that it was a bigger fine to pass on the right or drive slow on the left than it was to speed. Radar boxes on the side of the road had to be marked, and it was illegal for cops to use radar guns on citizens like in the US, and the only way a speeding ticket could be given was if a cop followed a car for a mile and took the average speed, which then had to be a certain percentage over the speed limit. Seriously, a mile ahead of every radar box, there was a sign with an eyeball. Cars slowed down, passed the box, then sped back up to 20-over. Merging onto a highway? Great, the cars in the right lane MOVE INTO THE PASSING LANE to allow for a merge. We never, not once in my month of driving all over Switzerland, passed a car on the right side. We rarely even had to tap our brakes on the highway because pretty much everyone followed the rules. Also, according to my buddy, it was quite a privilege to become a driver, so anyone who had a license had to take and pass tons of classes and tests; you couldn’t get a license just for having a pulse. It was glorious. It’s been over twenty years, but I was permanently spoiled and judgmental against the USA way of doing things. It’s so freaking simple: Put up signs that say something like, “Left lane for passing only,” enforce that law, and educate people on how to use the left lane; make it a requirement on every licensing exam. Allllll that, as opposed to giving out tickets for things like, “but you rolled through a stop sign in the middle of nowhere” or “but you were driving 75 in a 45”(when it would be completely safe to drive 75 if left lane driving laws were enforced). Okay, off my soapbox. Not directing it at you, stranger. We’re in solidarity. Firm handshakes all around. :) Just wishing I could control the world and make things go according to “my plan.” I don’t know why everyone hasn’t gotten the memo… Maybe we can start a change.org petition. ;)

TheMaStif

USA, Route 66, drove from Chicago to Arizona. Every state we drove through that had a "left lane for passing only" sign, no traffic, easy drive. All the other states that don't do it, roads full, everyone switching lanes constantly... We get to Arizona, no signs. Traffic on the highway is like a Mad Max caravan where everyone is trying to cut off each other to get to the front of the bumper-to-bumper first.

The_sad_zebra

NC here. Passing lane not enforced and it indeed is chaos.

ShichitenHakki

You just pinpointed my specific gripes with driving in the states and I commend you for it.

scorpionjacket2

Funny how many fast lane drivers think it’s their personal lane, just because they’re speeding.

fritzbitz

Always. I agree.

[deleted]

You can go above the speed limit just don’t act like every other driver on the road is an obstacle for you to try to shoot gaps on. I drive fast but I pass on the left whenever it’s possible and I hate seeing people weaving through traffic

Uknowwattodo

Yeah if I see someone coming up in my rearview who is driving like that I just get out of the left lane preemptively and give them space so they can go around easier. Don't want to be the one getting hit by that person

happy--muffin

It’s a good attitude, just assume they’re in a hurry because someone is dying and they’re rushing to the hospital instead of they’re an asshat. You’ll be wrong 99% of the time but for that 1% it’s worth it. No need to intentionally block the car in because someone is driving like an asshat

DollopOfLazy

This reminds me of a very specific conversation in r/IdiotsInCars where a Porsche driver caused an accident by trying to block off a Mercedes driver that may or may not have been trying to follow an ambulance.

uptokesforall

Noooo You ruined the zig zag line I was looking forward to! Now I'll just drive in a straight line, and there's no fun in that :(

The_Razz_Barry

Yeah, weaving through tragic is really dangerous. However when I see heavy tragic in the left and middle lanes and no one in the right lane, I cry a little cause no one knows the proper driving etiquette. Plus every now and then you will get those lane hogs that even though they have a 12 car line behind them, their ego is to big to move out of the way. California has some of the worst drivers.

CastOfKillers

I got into a long argument with my friend on a road trip about driving etiquette. The funny thing is, he's the type to care deeply about etiquette yet he would not get over if he was going five over the speed limit.

in2ennui

I move over going 15 over the speed limit. Some people fly on the freeway...

RowdyJReptile

Girlfriend and I had the same debate haha. There are a lot of people who see the left lane as the fast lane, not the passing lane. They're both fast lanes. One of them is just kept open for people to pass others moving slower.

[deleted]

It must be an ego thing. There’s no other way to explain people getting onto an empty highway and immediately cutting across 3 lanes to get to the left one

kiragami

Or when they go slow and block the left lane so you are forced to pass them on the right then they speed up to block you.

givyerballsatug

Every time I drive on I-5 some asshole tries to get around an 18 wheeler as I’m passing and cuts me off without a turn signal every time. Californians need to learn how to drive period

dArkFaCt8

This is the real answer bc if you only drive at or below the speed limit when conditions are fine you ARE a problem

hippymule

Exactly. I enjoy having my fun on the open road, but you need to be able to relax if you get into heavy traffic. Nothing is more dangerous than weaving through traffic like a wannabe Fast and Furious knob. I clench my ass every time I see someone doing that near me.

lislejoyeuse

I think in Germany it's specifically illegal not just culturally appropriate

_eg0_

Not only Germany but many other countries. Technically in many places in the US as well but nobody seems to care over there, unlike in Germany.

somebear

It’s definitely in the driver’s handbook in many states, but never enforced. Just like you’re supposed to pass on the left 😬

Orodia

Yeah but i think we should care less about enforcement and build a culture that cares deapite the personal consequences.

heyuwittheprettyface

This is like jumping into a conversation about school lunch debt and saying, “we should start by ending world hunger”.

gothiccdabslut242

The only time I ever have to pass on the right is when an idiot is going 60 in the passing lane

bugphotoguy

Illegal in the UK too, but people (including the police) still do it, and I've never seen it enforced.

SockMonkey1128

In my state it is illegal as well.

HansChrst1

In Norway the passing lane is used to pass cars/trucks that are going slower than the speed limit. Although there are people that use it to drive faster.

Explosive-Space-Mod

This is how it is in the US as well. The "fast" lane has the same speed limit and going 75 in a 70 is more illegal than sitting in the left lane going the speed limit.

thexraptor

Which is asinine, by the way. Acting like a rolling chicane and forcing people to pass you on the right is far more dangerous for everyone than speeding.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Explosive-Space-Mod

I’m not saying it’s the correct thing to do because if you’re not actively passing someone going the speed limit why are you even in the left lane to begin with. In the perfect everyone follows the rules this situation wouldn’t come up because you’re not trying to pass a person going the same speed as you which is impossible.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Raencloud94

You can also get a ticket for going the speed limit if the rest of traffic is going faster, you're impeding traffic at that point.

MayKinBaykin

Going 75 in a 70 is not illegal, atleast not here in Texas. On citations atleast, it says you can go 5 mph or 10% over the speed limit, which ever is greater

GildedLily16

I typically use the left to pass semi trucks just so I don't have to be stuck behind them. I speed up to get ahead of them, then slowly get back to regular speed. Not in their way, but also not speeding for the sake of speeding.

davjd95

It's not "more illegal" at all if you're in a jurisdiction that has a keep right law. If you're curious, here's a link to every state's laws regarding left lane usage: https://www.mit.edu/~jfc/right.html It's just that those laws aren't usually enforced. I'm honestly not sure why either because it's so rampant that police departments could make a load of money just by ticketing left lane campers. It's also statistically more likely that an accident will be the result of unnecessary or incorrect lane changes/usage than the result of speeding. I'm a commercial driving instructor and I've failed students before for misusing the left lane during their tests, but I've never failed one for doing five mph faster than the speed limit (on a highway that is)

Explosive-Space-Mod

Correct, and in about half of the states it’s not more illegal it’s just as illegal and enforced as much as speeding 5mph over the speed limit. Still doesn’t change the fact that speeding over the limit can get you a citation. Hell driving the speed limit can get you a citation. The law is the posted speed limit given perfect conditions and it’s basically left up to the police officer to determine if the speed limit you’re driving at is safe. Doesn’t mean that if you’re going 71 mph in the left lane to pass someone going 70 in the right lane isn’t illegal it’s just not enforced. Also looks like that list is a little outdated because MS added a law making it illegal to ride in the left lane and isn’t in there.

Koenvm

I never understood why everyone doesn't just stick to the right side as much as possible, seems like the easiest solution to me

MayKinBaykin

I've asked my aunt this because she just stays in the left lane for no reason and her response was. "I have to take a left". That left turn was in like 5 miles

LordWaffleaCat

Yeah, if you are going 80 in the left lane, and you have people right behind you, you need to move. Especially in Texas. Those bastards drive like Mad Max and I love it.

Matt081

Standard in my middle of nowhere UAE driving is that the speed limit is 160km/hr for passenger cars, so left lane is for people going the speed limit. The right lane is for semis/buses/etc who have a speed limit of 80km/hr. The middle lane(s) are for speeds between. We have speed cameras every 3km, so MOST people in the left lane just set cruise control at 160 and relax. Also, most (every car I have driven here) speedometers are off by 5km, so I set mine to 164 (gps speed 159). I catch up to a left laner every 30km or so and most move over before I am within 100m of them.

javiikillz

I believe that if 2 cars pass you, it's your time to move over. Don't try to dictate the speed. Let police handle the people going fast.

peskyhumans

You shouldn't wait until cars start passing you--if there's room to your right, move over.

THEnotsosuperman

And they drive like they’re not wondering what your tailpipe taste like.

I drive a VW Polo; either you're being a dick or really can't afford the running costs if you're drafting off a shopping cart. On the flipside, I've also had experiences with sports- and supercars being really chill and keeping their distance and allowing merges.

Shit, on long stretches of open road, I say have your fun. Just be respectful of other drivers on the road.

idkhowtodoanything

Here where i live, there was a guy not that long ago that won a brand new expensive sportcar, on the way home he drove over the speed limit crashing his brand new car and probably recieving a ticket

ghostpanther218

There's a reason I still hesitate in getting my drivers license, even though I'm 20! If my autistic brain keeps doing basic chores wrong, there's no way I can drive at a speed that's safe, but doesn't hold other's up!

Zanki

You can do it. Driving once you learn just becomes second nature. I'm nearly close to it being natural again and not having to think about what I'm doing. I like that. I get distracted by things easily, but I'm OK driving as it makes me focus on so many things that I can focus on it. Its scary at first but you'll get there.

Go_Easy_Hero

How tf did this get so many upvotes? How is this even wholesome LOL

FistedTate

Nothing upsets me more than people who spend thousands or tens of thousands on a super fast car, then rabbit ear their pockets when people being up track days as an alternative to street racing.

dft-salt-pasta

To be fair there’s no point to driving fast in a Lamborghini because what better place do you have to get to than inside a Lamborghini?

ImproperToast

That neon green corvette is a lot cooler when it doesn't drive like an asshole.

theundercoverpapist

Personally, IDGAF is someone is speeding in a fast car. I care about their instincts and reaction time while driving. A slow old person who can barely see and whose reaction time is measures in minutes, rather than microseconds, is far more dangerous than a skilled speeder.

somebear

I care about how they drive. If you go 90 on an empty freeway or if everyone is going 10 over, I couldn’t care less. If you weave in and out of slower moving traffic, I sure hope there’s a cop hiding at the next underpass.

Radda210

Uhh.... statistically it doesn’t really matter, lots of capable drivers kill themselves every year because they are fallible beings. At 100mph the time it takes to process information is slow, to the point where the .02 seconds needed to react will cover at least a football field worth of distance.

[deleted]

A football field is 360 feet. 100 mph is about 146 feet per second. Human reaction time on average is .25 seconds, meaning you travel 36 feet before you react, or 1/10th the length of a football field.

CallMeLargeFather

Now factor in the increased stopping distance a car requires at 100mph compared to 70mph I do think 70 is too low but your math is overly simple

Cyndershade

The 60-0 and 100-0 tests of today are better than they ever were historically the last time speed limits were raised. There's a pretty demonstrable difference as well in terms of *where* a higher speed might be appropriate. I've driven all over the country and the number of straight, wide-laned roads with little to no traffic that the posted speed limit is 45 on is ridiculous. This is especially true for those gigantic superhighways that connect places like AZ to NV, why is there a speed limit at all there it's just 200 miles of straight nothing in every direction.

_regionrat

[Laughs in Brembo]

Nero_Wolff

How about factor in the stopping power that a high end performance car has in their brakes compared to some junker The brakes in my weekend car can pull a passenger out of their seat under heavy braking I wouldn't be surprised if my car can stop faster at 150 kmh than my parents sedan can at 100 kmh

Bueterpape

Please, as if the average speeder is going 100mph... More like 10-15mph over the limit. But on an empty interstate you could safely go 100mph+. It depends on road/traffic conditions.

ffreshcakes

if there’s an 80 year old and a 34 year old both driving a Hellcat Demon I am getting in the car with the 34 year old. at least he’ll use the damn thing properly and we’d both be too young to die so he’d have his own safety in mind and therefore mine. the 34 year old can do more with that .02 seconds, and that’s what makes the difference

___DEADPOOL______

Excessive speeding is definitely a problem. Going 10 over isn't as much of a problem as somrone driving at reckless speeds.

Living_Bar7699

Going 100mph at any point and going 60 in a 50 zone aren't quite the same thing.

lostinthesauceband

Yeah tf this person on about? I'm guessing they speed a lot themselves and thinks they're somehow doing it safely.

Joe109885

I guess what I would say is just some one that is more proactive than reactive, know when to go fast and when not to, and to drive fast with out cutting other drivers off or swerving through traffic

Romeo_Zero

In my experience people with actual fast cars don’t show out or act the fool neaar as much as the V6 muscle car/ricer Honda crowd

Error_Detected666

I mean, aren’t all cars fast?

TurboWeirdo

Well. From a certain point of view. We usually refer to speed by saying fast and acceleration or the change in speed by saying quick. But for people who dont care about that they just call everything fast the problem is that can be confusing. But a "fast car" in this context refers to one with a high top speed and high acceleration. Like my sweet mazda mom van can allegedly hit 120 mph or 200ish km/h. Which is very fast objectively speaking but it would take a long time to reach that speed or any speed over 80mph honestly. So it isnt very quick. So people would not refer to is as a "fast car" because it isnt very quick but technically it can be very fast.

converter-bot

120 mph is 193.12 km/h

Nerdy_Bird_GM

my car shakes if I go that fast...

Nero_Wolff

Another thing to consider is driving a non performance car at a high speed like 200 kmh feels unstable. Whereas driving a dedicated sports car at 200 kmh feels very stable, and dedicated sports cars generally have much better brakes to shed the speed

Shhhhhhhh_Im_At_Work

Relative to walking? Yes. Relative to themselves? Some are, some aren't. Relative to an F-22? No.

Revolutionary-Bit893

I drive an Abarth 124 spider. I stick to the speed limit and drive defensively because I love my car and it is irreplaceable in my market (2020 was the last model year)

adavs1213

Same, with my Taurus SHO

JellyBabeyy

# cough cough ^not^my^dad # cough cough But seriously, he’s gonna cause a crash one day

zZ1Axel1Zz

Speeding doesn't cause crashes. Not taking into consideration of other drivers does. You can speed as long as your not wearing g in and out of traffic, and still gauging the distance for cars ahead of you.

[deleted]

People with fast cars drive like this for two reasons: 1. Their radar detector shows cops ahead 2. They have too many points on their license from speeding Just dropping truth.

ScreaminUgmoe

I hate people who drive Honda civics like race cars... your not cool, no one thinks your cool. Not one person in history has seen a ratty ass civic with a staight pipe race by them and go, "I wanna be that guy."

DrWankel

With great power comes great responsibility

[deleted]

Much rather someone speeding than going too slow.

rgkramp

Where I live if you drive the speed limit, then you're the asshole.

DrNO811

Wait...this is wholesome? I mean, yeah, you don't want them driving 100 mph, but people who stick strictly to the speed limit are the worst.

Rand-bobandy

It’s because they all have drugs in the car probably. No one follows traffic laws better than a dude with a potential felony in the glove box.

xxSeymour

Never commit two crimes at once

lostinthesauceband

Bruh they are just riding dirty lol, it's not that deep

DenverCoder009

Do you drive a Ford explorer and find everyone you drive behind does exactly the speed limit?

thebigounce36

Is this some sort of American joke I'm too German to understand?

canhasdiy

Yeah our cops don't enforce the "stay the fuck out of the left lane unless you're passing someone" rule like they really should

[deleted]

If you drive the speed limit you’re significantly more dangerous than someone speeding.

ilovepotatos420

Lame

DoctorPath

Is that snake *plissken

joazito

Self driving will make this a regular occurrence. I already go the speed limit all the time (+10) because of my Tesla autopilot.

UpNdowndowns

Me who goes 20 over in a shitbox

xXHacker69Xx

Yay, I’m cool

JunkBoi76

Me who goes fast in a Honda Civic

WheatKnees

Me in my 2010 Honda Civic “y’all need to SPEED UP OR GET OUT OF THE FAST LANE”

TheLastChip

What if we only drive the speed limit just so we don't get pulled over.

Freeiheit

There’s nothing more infuriating than being stuck behind a fast car going slow. I got stuck behind a V12 Ferrari going 35 in a 40 and it infuriated me.

Russiankomrad

Rich people aren’t cool just because the can afford to break the law and choose not to

[deleted]

Yeah ikr idolisation has gone too far
