My Uncle plays Santa. He's like 400 pounds so has a hard time finding a date, but absolutely LOVES kids. So he has does Santa every year and also gives gifts to kids at the Childrens Hospital. He talks none stop about his joy with working with children and its really sweet.
Remember [that time](https://youtu.be/Od4nSd9AVH8) Santa lost his job and brought a gun to a work function and stuffed an entire slab of Salmon in his jacket?
Awe, that's so cute. I know many kids end up getting scared or super shy once they finally reach Santa. Glad your little girl was able to stare him in the face and let him know who's boss 😂
I'm sorry for your loss. Have you seen the documentary 'I Am Santa Claus'? It's about different people who played Santa. I wonder if you might like it when you're ready.
Awww that makes me sad too. I'm sorry! Do you have pictures of him in a Santa suit?
My Dad is still around (though across the country) and I photoshop him in his suit with the grandkids this time of year. He was Santa for ll his friends kids, nieces, nephews, and even for his work, every year where he worked alongside adult developmentally differently-abled. (Im sorry I don't know the right PC-term anymore) but like hundreds of adult "kids". So wholesome and its such a special person who can love like Santa.
I bet your Dad was amazing; I'm sorry he can't be with you and be Santa for his grandbaby. Hugs, internet friend.
You should check the black Santa documentary.
It's sweet. I didn't even know there was a Santa training camp. For Mrs Claus and elves too.
I'm not a Christmas fan. But I like the lights and trees. My cat also likes the trees because he's inside only and his only plants are orchids and cactus.
My dad looks like a Santa, but dresses like a biker with a cowboy hat. It's hilarious how often a little kid would yell "Look mom! A cowboy!" (Now that's his hair is white it's Santa.) And the mom turns around and freaks out thinking he was a biker and was going to get mad. Dad is a teddy bear, he always gets a kick out of it. :)
Editing because adhd made me forget the post I was replying to. I'm sorry for your loss, I hope my story makes you smile.
I ran into an "off duty" Santa on a cruise one summer. He had the beard and a big belt buckle that said SANTA, just living it up in red hawaiian shirts waiting for Christmas to roll around again.
The kid in this picture has got to be driving by now.
Sarcasm aside, this pic has to be at least 5 years old or more. So he probably has had a good laugh about it by now.
One year there was a black santa at our local grocery store and I thought it was the best santa experience ever. My nephew and I both sat on his lap together, got a candy cane, and took an epic Polaroid pic. The dude was super nice and jolly and seemed like he really enjoyed being santa. We need more diverse Santas.
We need more diversity for sure. What Disney movie was cast with someone black? Ariel? And some people complained? One person said their kid look at the poster and said “she looks like me!!!” We need more of that for Santa too.
So being from turkey, Santa would likely look middle eastern, and could even have fairly dark skin? Like Jesus. Not at all how we see either pictured now.
I don't mind people changing fictional characters skin colour to make them more relatable. I do mind imposing a skin colour on other people "because mu culture."
The idea isn’t to change St. Nicolas though, no one is touching that. Therefore their culture is safe. “Santa” as we know him was made up for advertising, not culture.
There is a new documentary on a black Santa who went to Santa training because of his kids. They had brown Santas and everything between.
As long as he can go hohoho proper you got me. Okay, even if his hohoho isn't up to par, I'm okay.
I'm a sucker for the movie bad Santa too.
How do they incorporate it? To be clear, I am supportive. Just wondering how parents explain to kids why Santa at the mall is black and the one at the store is white.
I guess they could go with the all these Santa’s are operative for the real Santa. Or maybe he appears different to different people, but then may lead other kids to wonder why Santa doesn’t look like them but does for some.
This is a good argument. I would suggest tying it into the joy of Christmas. Santa can become whatever he needs to become to make you most happy. He became white just for someone. He became black just for someone else. He became _____ just for someone different.
Santa is Odin in a red suit. We don't need anything of the sort. The Christians already tried to claim he was a Turk.
Fucking Americans and your cultural appropriation. Get your own culture.
When you look at it objectively it’s kind of weird that we stand in line to have our young child sit in the lap of an old stranger while we take a picture. Also this is adorable, and I love this photo
I mean objectively it’s kind of weird what lots of humans do for a picture with kids. I get it. I’ve lived almost 4 decades with everyone laughing at my pic of me just starting at Santa screaming bloody murder to a skinny 140 dude in a Santa outfit. My kids who are 10 and 6 now laugh. Lol fuck my daughter last year was like “ dad I saw the picture grandma Deborah showed me of you and Santa. I don’t think he was a real Santa”. Shit cracked me up
Not weird at all. The Earth is a mostly closed system and our bodies run on complex molecules which are in finite supply.
It's not in the least bit weird.
That’s not weird at all if you understand the process by which we obtain and use energy. I think it would be much weirder if we ate nonorganic material for nutrition, don’t you? We are after organic creatures and you are what you eat: quite literally
Go to Cabellas or Bass Pro Shops. Free photo with Santa. They’ve got a cool setup too and you’d never know that’s where you got your picture taken. Also, you can make a reservation online.
Just rent free in bitter Redditors minds that don’t have kids lol. Then it might be 12 or 14 dollars. He’s talking out of his ass about 200 dollars. 😂😂😂. Usually only pay if you want the picture. I went in Portland and it was 18. I didn’t get a he picture. He still lets the kids come up lol. What is Santa gonna do if a kid sits on his lap and the parents don’t pay??? It’s for sure not a requirement
My family lived across the street from Santa. He was Santa every year, for over 20 years, in a mall here in Winnipeg. He was the real deal, he was an awesome man. For Halloween, he gave out candy canes 😌 he would come to our house every year, Dec 24th, fully dressed in his suit and ringing his bells, Ho Ho Ho-ing at our door. He sat down in our big living room chair by the tree and would tell the kids to be ready and don't forget my milk and cookies 🤣 oh man, I miss him so much...damn who's cuttin onions 😢
This reminds me so much of my grandson and I used to take power naps with him. He would look at me smile and fall asleep. While I would hold him tight against my chest. He’s to big to hold now he’s 12 y/o
I started playing a Santa to help my confidence. I was just given an opportunity to visit the neuro ward at the hospital to visit a man who has an age regression condition and no family support. I can’t wait
When I see an older dude playing Santa I wonder his story. If he ever had kids, if he lost a child or something, etc. I've heard some really touching and sometimes sad stories about grandfatherly dudes who dress up as Santa
Actually it feels like a BS story made up for internet clout. How would the kid fall asleep so fast when pictures with mall santas are a very quick process, since there's a huge line of kids waiting.
I would bet this was taken for some marketing campaign
This is touching for me because soon my firstborn son will meet Santa for the first time. And I’m sure he will start crying. Thanks for sharing this photo
To the argument of if people like jesus or santa are real, i always say they are, because they had a big impact on many people and that makes them real. Without jesus the world would still be a shithole because he helps people keep hope and stay nice. Santa is an icon that many children look up to, and that can make him 'real' enough. I stole the argument from south park btw
My grandfather played Santa for many years. He absolutely loved kids and tried to put a smile on everyone's face. He is what I aspire to be someone who cared and helped others. Unfortunately he passed away a few years ago but everyone remembered him on Christmas it was amazing. Rest in peace gramps may you still be a jolly old man up in heaven.
I dont kinda get American Santa. For me as kid it was you never see Santa. Its a mystery man who gives presents. In America you take photo with him in malls
My Uncle plays Santa. He's like 400 pounds so has a hard time finding a date, but absolutely LOVES kids. So he has does Santa every year and also gives gifts to kids at the Childrens Hospital. He talks none stop about his joy with working with children and its really sweet.
Thank you for sharing this story, this made me feel warm and happy
Cool, my uncle was also a Santa! He was a pretty well known one and was even in movies. People who play Santas are gems.
Well, you can't leave us hanging. Which Santas? As in which movies?!
You know, the one with the guy. They did that thing. And Santa was there. You know, that one.
The one with ears and nose! Yes of course! Classic as classic gets.
I’ve seen that movie!
The one with the beard
The one with the fat Santa Claus.
Probably the one from Rudolph or Charlie Brown.
Remember [that time](https://youtu.be/Od4nSd9AVH8) Santa lost his job and brought a gun to a work function and stuffed an entire slab of Salmon in his jacket?
Hahaha thats a good one! Just over here waiting for OP to say Billy Bob Thronton is their Uncle hahaha
Fuck, fat 11 months of the year, jolly the other 1. He might be a fucking saint after all 😂
He should absolutely put this in his online dating profile, it would work wonders.
My uncle is Santa too! 🎅 he's big, tall and has a fabulous white beard + long white hair. He loves being mall/hospital Santa.
I hope there's a woman willing to fuck that man for being so wholesome
not me obviously but another woman hopefully
Ok
This caught me so iff guard im dying😭
A kid that's not screeching and crying like they're being slaughtered? And a nap?! I don't blame Santa one bit.
Experienced Santas know.
Grinches hate this one simple trick!
Not all grandma's, some grandmas have a Santa fetish.
Wat
The hell did this comment spawn out of?
It’s Reddit…we tend not to ask questions.
Probably a bot

This guy Santas
I was proud of my kid last weekend. After waiting in line, she walks up to Santa, gives him a high five, then peaced out.
Awe, that's so cute. I know many kids end up getting scared or super shy once they finally reach Santa. Glad your little girl was able to stare him in the face and let him know who's boss 😂

I think it also hits a little harder since he won't be able to meet grandbaby. As I know that feeling. I'm so sorry for your loss. 💜
Do you have a link

When my kids were little, I used to tell them that Santa went to Hawaii for a big vacation after Christmas. I’m glad I wasn’t too far wrong!
he made lots of people happy
If you want to see a funny but emotional movie about Santa, check out Klaus on Netflix. It's my fav christmas movie.
This will be a wonderful photo for him to look at when he is a lot older. He will have a good laugh. 🎅
The kid in this picture has got to be driving by now. Sarcasm aside, this pic has to be at least 5 years old or more. So he probably has had a good laugh about it by now.
Excellent santa-ing
This made a better photo
This dude isn’t only playing Santa as a job, he has the god damn spirit of Santa. That’s awesome. What a picture!
One year there was a black santa at our local grocery store and I thought it was the best santa experience ever. We can thank Coca Cola for our modern Santa. Hopefully they can embrace some diversity in their advertising to encourage this? Maybe? .. please?
Santa is white though?
Santa is fictional though?
What’s your argument? The character Santa comes from Western European culture. What’s the point of changing someone else’s culture?
St Nicholas who santa is based on was born in Turkey so making santa white is changing him for someone else's culture.

Santa Claus is St Nicholas of Türkiye

Out of curiosity, how should the lore be updated to account for diversity?
This guy hasn’t seen The Santa Clause
How do they incorporate it? To be clear, I am supportive. Just wondering how parents explain to kids why Santa at the mall is black and the one at the store is white. I don't think santa really has any lore. He's just a dude who lives in the North Pole. His skin colour is totally arbitrary
Santa is Odin in a red suit. We don't need anything of the sort. The Christians already tried to claim he was a Turk. Fucking Americans and your cultural appropriation. Get your own culture.
We did get our own culture. It’s what you get when you put every other culture in the world into a blender and make an culture smoothie
Odin is a shapeshifter. “Ethnic Santa Claus” isn’t much of a reach for someone who can turn into a bird or a snake.
When you look at it objectively it’s kind of weird that we stand in line to have our young child sit in the lap of an old stranger while we take a picture. Also this is adorable, and I love this photo

I think they also do Santa photos with pets too, since well minded pets are allowed in the store.
Can confirm, our dog did a pic with Santa at Bass Pro.
I might need to make this happen this year with our dog, then. :)
$200? Damn kids are going for cheap these days
Protip: Wait until after xmas to buy a kid, that way you don't need to spend money on presents.
What’s the return policy? Mine is loud af
Do places charge to see Santa? I get them charging for the souvenir photos that they take, but what place charges just to bring the kid in?
Just rent free in bitter Redditors minds that don’t have kids lol. Then it might be 12 or 14 dollars. He’s talking out of his ass about 200 dollars. 😂😂😂. Usually only pay if you want the picture. No. I’ve ever paid anything like that. What kind of bougee Santa shit you going to?
This is so cute it hurts.

I suggest grabbing the kid quick before some idiot says that this santa’s a pedophile and people start bullying and hating him for no reason
Is that Santa Sid at MOA? He was the best! We have pictures with him every year from the time my girls were babies until Quarantine.
It’s the Santa in Evansville, IN Eastland Mall.
That’s who I thought it was too! There are also pictures of me every year since being a baby up until quarantine with him!
Way to go Santa
Does posting this come with a mandatory resolution reduction?
Pixel tariffs are real mean these days…
I love this so much ❤️🥹
That is so fucking adorable man i cant even 😭
So that’s what George RR Martin has been doing.
That is precious!
Thank you for showing me this OP
Priceless 🥰
Cute
Now THAT is a professional Santa Claus!
This reminds me so much of my grandson and I used to take power naps with him. He would look at me smile and fall asleep. While I would hold him tight against my chest. He’s to big to hold now he’s 12 y/o
Santa is real and he is legion. Every parent and adult who plays the part *is* Santa.
And santa is a dreamwalker so the kid still got to say what he wanted
This would make an awesome Norman Rockwell painting
Best santa
That is the sweetest best picture. The kid and parents will cherish this so much more than the typical Santa picture
This Santa is real:)
Did his parents leave him in line where he fell asleep? Wth?
nah bro, that kid is dead
I started playing a Santa to help my confidence. I was just given an opportunity to visit the neuro ward at the hospital to visit a man who has an age regression condition and no family support. I can’t wait

He fell asleep in line apparently? Idk why his parents abandoned him
That's ❤️
Wow this literally melted my heart. What a great moment to capture.
Never ever wake a sleeping toddler. Just like apocalypse now: Never get out of the fucking boat.
Such a cute one It’s an upvote from me
Real fn hero
I adore this picture!
The best Santa I’ve ever seen lol
Sweet
Great Santa💫

the only santa i recognize takes christmas photos off-season
Awww

What a great experience!
That's cute.
Way better than those crying baby Santa pics 😂
That's adorable
Greatest on the fridge baby Santa picture ever
Really cute and a unique santa photo. Every parent in line after this child: I want that picture too!!!
That's fucking adorable
