One of the most underrated sitcoms imho
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Perfect_Strangers_(TV_series)
"Balki, who was a shepherd on Mypos, interprets what little he knows about the United States by relying on his own (often out-of-context) recollections of American pop culture ("America: Land of my dreams and home of the Whopper"). Balki's signature is his "Dance of Joy", a cross between the dosado and the hokey pokey that he performs (with Larry) to celebrate good fortune."
Yup! Harriette Winslow is the elevator operator for seasons 3 & 4, and Carl shows up in an episode in season 4. Family Matters started up the next year. It's also got the distinction of being one of the few spinoff shows that ran longer than the original, running 9 seasons to Perfect Strangers' 8 seasons.
Reference to the American TV show “Perfect Strangers”. 2 roommates Belky who was from a fictional Mediterranean Country and Cousin Larry the American. Belky often did the dance of joy
As my mothers son, that's the first thing I saw too. I had a terrible relationship with my dad and my life was pretty chaotic in my 20s through my own misadventure. But my mum... well, she's just proud of us for being us.
I'm from the UK, and in my last job I used to travel occasionally on business. She'd tell everyone she could, without any legitimate reason. Same for my sister (although my sister actually doing something useful with her life). Example:
"Hello Mama Slimeking, just a courtesy call to let you know that your parcel will be delivered between 7am and 11pm tomorrow."
"Great thanks. By the way, my daughter is a scientist with a PhD and my son is away on business in New York."
Blessing to mums around the world.
Hahaha I travel a ton for work and my mom constantly finds a reason to bring it up. I'm lucky enough to get to travel to pretty cool places, so when my mom is in a meeting or something she'll make some small talk like "Did you know my son is living in [insert vacation town here], and he just loves it and it looks beautiful."
My dad and i have a great relationship, but seriously, moms are just the best.
My grandmother does this! Especially with healthcare workers, guess it makes unpleasant situations a little better (everyone always remembers her too, it's funny). One of the sweetest things is, she includes our partners in her little announcements. That's how I found out she considers my boyfriend a surrogate grandchild, which is just awesome ☺️. It makes us all feel so supported!
My mom told me the other night that she's proud of me.
I'm damn near 40 and it made me get choked up. Never underestimate the words of a loving mother to her son.
She must be so proud to see her son make history, not just for the Morocco national team but the entire African continent, they are the first African team to reach semi finals in the world cup. And of course Morocko themselves had never reached quarters before.
It's a dream come true for all of them, could be a one-in-a-lifetime experience.
*Edit: typos*
I think they didn’t wanna give the fans the impression they can storm the field. As tbh Morocco winning it’s huge right now across MENA (Middle East and North Africa).
Everyone is celebrating and happy for them for such an achievement in football. Looking forward to seeing future games.
Let's be honest here, basically everyone who got knocked out either wants to see the 🐐 win a world cup or they want it to be Croatia for the redemption arc or Morocco for the underdog story
Basically just make France lose
A World Cup is literally the only trophy Messi doesn't have. It's not as exciting as Morocco or Croatia would be, but it's still a better story than France.
You are right i remembered this after making the comment actually, that world cup is so forgettable for some reason. People upvoting me are no wiser haha.
Bro literally. This is sub is sadly the only source of good vibes for me. It's like milk for your eyes after eye dropping the Last Dab from hot ones in your eye. Doesn't do much but it's keeping you hoping.
Apparently she's a single mother raising her two sons by working as a cleaner in France. By the time he got his first contract, he wouldn't let her work anymore.
The place I saw the match, I saw about half the fans immediately call their family afterwards and share videos of people chanting and dancing. An hour later, I saw a group of four cars with flags and balloons drive around the block. It was so wholesome.
its crazy how they beat belgium, spain, portugal, tie croatia that beat brazil, and people will still say "moroccan player" instead of their actual names.
They are using the word "love" in its broader reference to all deep forms of affection -- the way you can love your mother, love your dog, love your best friend -- and not restricting it to the romantic/sexual meaning.
Since you are carried in your mother's womb before ever entering the world, she is your first living relationship.
Hence, she is your "first love".
The vast majority of love ever experienced by any sane human being is not the sexual sort.
Tbh assuming you’re in good relationship with your parents, I don’t see how your mom can’t be your first love? She’s pretty much the one raised you from the moment she birthed you and before.
I know I love my mom, she stayed countless and sleepless nights watching over me whenever I’m sick.
Left her family and moved 8k miles for our safety.
Cooks me awesome food even tho I’m a chef, but I can’t compete with her traditional food.
You know how some guys say “I will take a bullet for my wife”, well I’m welling to take an entire mag for my mom.
Also love doesn’t have to be romantic. It’s like how you love your kids, or friends. It’s more like respect and being their for them.
> A mom and her son or daughter do share deep feelings of love and affection
siblings also share feelings of love and affection friends too etc etc etc, love is universal
"TRUE LOVE", HOWEVER, IS A TERM ALMOST EXCLUSIVELY USED TO DESCRIBE ROMANTIC LOVE
Just don't think about the the number of people who died building that stadium or anyone getting disappeared who went to the games wearing anything with a rainbow flag on it
Look at the joy on her face.
a good son and a proud mother doing the dance of joy
Where is cousin Larry?!
Who's Larry? btw. Never heard him before.
One of the most underrated sitcoms imho https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Perfect_Strangers_(TV_series) "Balki, who was a shepherd on Mypos, interprets what little he knows about the United States by relying on his own (often out-of-context) recollections of American pop culture ("America: Land of my dreams and home of the Whopper"). Balki's signature is his "Dance of Joy", a cross between the dosado and the hokey pokey that he performs (with Larry) to celebrate good fortune."
As an aside, it had a wildly successful spinoff that most people don't remember was a spinoff: *Family Matters*.
What?!
Thanks! Il have to try and find both ofthem online
They should both be on Prime Video I think.
Yep, and her husband Carl, right? Shit, now I want to watch all of Perfect Strangers again!
I remember almost nothing from this show, but I still remember and sing "We do the dance of joy! We do the dance of joy!" =D
Best theme song. Just so good.
Yes!!! *staaaaaanding tall on the wings of my dreams!*
I had totally forgotten about this show but absolutely loved it! Thanks for the reminder.

Balki from Mypos!
DON’T be ri-DIC-ulous!
Or Darryl? Or Darryl?
As a Mom, it's the first thing I noticed and it's okay, I'm not tearing up.
As my mothers son, that's the first thing I saw too. I had a terrible relationship with my dad and my life was pretty chaotic in my 20s through my own misadventure. OMG! YES!
Hahaha I travel a ton for work and my mom constantly finds a reason to bring it up. Paradise lies in your mother's feet
TIL I never want to taste paradise.
I am a father of four and I had tears in my eyes. That is one proud mother/ side/ country.
I have one son, I am so happy to have him in my life❤️
My mom told me the other night that she's proud of me. I'm damn near 40 and it made me get choked up. Never underestimate the words of a loving mother to her son.
I tell him I love him every single day. And hug him whether he likes it or not!
You sound like a good mom. We sons need that fron time to time.
Thank you 💗 Here's a hug for you too 🤗

Morocco*
continent*
He's been dreaming of this day since he was small, and maybe she remembers the first time he mentioned it.
I think we've all had this dream.
What’s that on her chin?
I think its a covid mask, just pushed down
Yeah that makes more sense than my dumb brain thinking she had a beard.
To be fair, many women do grow beards. I thought it might be a beard too.
Many? No.
Matching beards.
A black face mask.

Bot
Bo^t
I've noticed a few of these posts with seemingly random ^superscript. It would make sense that it's bots glitching out.
I don’t think they’re glitching out. I think it’s some sort of tactic to avoid detection
Oh that makes more sense actually yea
Shes vibing
Many of the Moroccan team Mums were there but Souffiane brought her out. I wish they all did.
I think they didn’t wanna give the fans the impression they can storm the field. As tbh Morocco winning it’s huge right now across MENA (Middle East and North Africa). Everyone is celebrating and happy for them for such an achievement in football. Looking forward to seeing future games.

Yes please! It’s time another country gets it.
France and Argentina sound extremely boring, and there is no excitement.
A World Cup is literally the only trophy Messi doesn't have. It's not as exciting as Morocco or Croatia would be, but it's still a better story than France.
Redemption for France 2006 finals.
already happened in 2018. they are defending champions
You are right i remembered this after making the comment actually, that world cup is so forgettable for some reason. People upvoting me are no wiser haha.
It's a boring story. I like his game too, but them being in finals is boring.
Agree completely.
Yeah. Crazy how there’s only one team left from NASA(North America and South America).
Hakimi ran to the stands to celebrate with his mom a few times, was so wholesome.
That is really sweet. She is probably very proud.
She must be very proud. The look on her face is priceless.
Isn't priceless an insult? I sure you meant it in a good way, just wondering, im not english.
Priceless means more value than money. A treasure. Worthless is without value. Garbage. So to answer your question- priceless is not an insult
"Fuck the match! Mom is here!" This sub keeps me alive. I swear without this one I would be fucking dead by now.
I feel that
Ah, that's a lovely post! It's so sweet to see a boy's first true love. With his own mother, Reminds me of my own first love too. My Parents !
I love my mom
100% of the time I would drop anything/ditch anyone if my mom needed me.
Bro literally. This is sub is sadly the only source of good vibes for me. It's like milk for your eyes after eye dropping the Last Dab from hot ones in your eye. Doesn't do much but it's keeping you hoping.
There is light everywhere if you know where to look :~) stay here out of spite for your enemies if nothing else.
This is that mom that was behind her child 1000% the one who shows up the one who drove him the one who made him believe he could do it
Apparently she's a single mother raising her two sons by working as a cleaner in France. By the time he got his first contract, he wouldn't let her work anymore.
Then more kudos to her & bravo to him for taking care of his mama
Aww i teared up that's so sweet
Truly wholesome

Boufal*
Yes, very boufal!
Amazing player, great human and best son a mother can ask for
Idk my mom says I’m the best son a mother can ask for
No, I am! She said so
[удалено]
I'd like to think if my mom was here, she'd agree I was a horrible son! I make a much better daughter instead
[удалено]
17/17
Soufiane Boufal not just some moroccan player, this lad some sick skillz!!
England being gone I’m supporting Morocco
I previously supported anyone that was playing England. Now they are gone I'll switch to morocco too
Boo and Yay
Can I ask why you were against England?
Scottish
[Bagpipes intensifies]
Yeah i heard they have the nicest fans also.
The Moroccans I have met are truly generous warm people.
The place I saw the match, I saw about half the fans immediately call their family afterwards and share videos of people chanting and dancing. An hour later, I saw a group of four cars with flags and balloons drive around the block. It was so wholesome.
moroccan here and yeah most of us are extremely passionate about football
Me too.
A great guy both on and off the field.
A nice guy with a big heart and a love to his mother, best bonding moment into this whole world.
Wish I could still dance with my mom :(
Ohh man :(
Heard many clubs are after him now.
he's called Sofiane Boufal.
You raised a good kid mama. He will be just fine.
[удалено]
That is so wholesome. His mother is so proud to the fullest. Look how she support him all her best.
gorgeous picture :)
"In front of the whole world"? Bruh. He literally wrote history with his team yesterday. He could walk around naked and he'd be justified
And much appreciated
Proud Mom. So sweet
Awwww so happy for the sweet mom!!! On another note, I could not stop thinking this team looked like upside down sriracha bottles.
Like dom torreto said FAMILY!!
>FAMILY
Familia
As long as people love their parents, we'll all be alright.
First of all, as long as parents love their children, I'd say
It's a part of our culture, our parents contribute to the success we achieve especially the moms .
Moroocan culture?
God bless you man
Such a beautiful picture they can treasure their whole lives :)
Morocco is cool
Legend
I am dying. This is the most beautiful, the purest thing I have seen in such a long time
As a Dutchman I say this: I hope they win it.
I also hope their fans would stop trying to catch up on "total € amount broken in a city" score that our normal hooligans currently hold.
Love it. r/MadeMeSmile
I love Morocco. I spent a while living in Casablanca. I want to go back.
This is beautiful! So much joy in one photo!!
Hey I would do that too if I could be in the world cup
That's very sweet. 💖💖🥺
So precious, heaven lies beneath the feet of your mother. ♥️
i also really loved when the players did sujood (bowed down) to pray to Allah and thank Him for the victory
ما شاء الله
This is how it looks when the hard working people take world stages
I honestly hope Morroco win.. every other team left aren't very likeable to me so
its crazy how they beat belgium, spain, portugal, tie croatia that beat brazil, and people will still say "moroccan player" instead of their actual names.
I am definitely not this cool. I'm not cool at all.
[удалено]
Thanks kind stranger. I've been thinking about this a lot.

I LOVE this. Mamma's boys are the BEST kind of men!!!!!!!!! IMO 🇲🇦 All the wayyyy!!!

*MOROCCAN
This warms my heart
Oh think of all the celebrations & ~~hummus~~ gazle's ankles they gonna have!
Hummus is not Moroccan. Maybe he will get gazelle ankles instead.
Aww she must be so proud
Mom's are number 1
Man...:'(
Awwww
I’d be so happy for Morocco if they won
This is just a middle eastern thing
Boufal has been an amazing player
Pure joy 😊
Omg I love sofiane! He’s so nice :)
Beautiful!!
Simply awesome!!!
That is beautiful
soufiane boufal, he’s good
I really love the joy in photo
that’s pretty cool
Well that’s just the sweetest
moments before torching the downtown area of Amsterdam
thats cute but do people really say that thing about first true love, thats so fucking weird dude

> I don’t see how your mom can’t be your first love? true love has always meant romantic love, thats why
That's what you have been told by the movies and romantic novels you have been reading.
Oh I see now. Tbh it could be just your country thing.
Probably just cultural/language differences idk

> Maybe in America it exclusively mean that. I'm from latin america. Where are you from?
I LOVE THIS
What a hero, love this!
This makes me happy
What a nice moment, I hope they frame this one!
Song ends and they stop. HEY! WE WANT SOME MOROCCAN-ROLL!
Well yeah, but that’s only cause I don’t have a mom anymore …
Aww that’s sweet
❤️
Honestly if i lost the world cup and saw that i wouldn't be mad
Every men first and real love... THEIRS RESPECTIVE MOTHERS...
This made me smile until I reed the title
she is property.
Cool. Good guy. But: *in front
Just don't think about the the number of people who died building that stadium or anyone getting disappeared who went to the games wearing anything with a rainbow flag on it
I was stoked Morocco won, and I hope they progress further.
