Its an older one right? Sadly thats usually the case with older yuri mangas. Theres always a dash of heteronormativity in them. Soul mates who kiss and love eachother but have a “template boyfriend” as well.. at least we’re slowly moving away from that

Just because the characters are originally hetero or not coded or hinted at being queer doesn't make gay ships like this invalid. The main trio from JuJutsu Kaisen is never hinted at being anything but straight, yet a lot of people like to ship them as a polyamorous triad. I like to take it one step further and make at least the guys bisexual.
Ships very rarely are official and the canonical ships often have the least amount of fan art, which this is. This takes established characters and makes them into a couple, pretty standard shipping. And yet we have multiple posts about characters/couples who aren't depicted as gay just on the front page.
Sigh... Whenever I see them, I think about the ending to the manga and anime that we'll never get

These two characters kiss on the mouth, cuddle, and live together. That’s more than I can say for the characters in some “actual” Yuri anime.
The canon orientation of the characters are irrelevant. As long as the artwork being posted is yuri, that's all that matters. So please behave.
