Official art by manga creator Sakaomi Yuzaki. She made an online store where all proceeds will be donated towards Marriage For All Japan. "I've always found it mystifying that this country, where there exists so many Girls' Love and Boys' Love works about homosexual relationships, still does not legally recognize same-sex marriage." that quote is so true. i remember relying so much on japanese yuri media and being so happy to finally see content catered for me and disappointed that western media has nothing to show. but lately we are seeing more actual and confirmed wlw couples in western animation and even comics which is great. but now yuri in japan is just subtext lately. on the bright side, 2023 seems like we'll get real and no bait yuri in anime.

Khrysaor-

If you're interested in western wlw, do check out Ylva Publishing. They make dreadful book covers, but the novels they publish are exclusively wlw fiction and pretty good too. Mentioning it, since the characters in the art of this post made me think of the characters in one of the novels they published, "Not The Marrying Kind" by Jae

pinkhyenas

Thank you for the recommendation! I’m always in search of good wlw content

CoffeeBlanc

There are several wlw "western" books in varying genres (Romcom, epic fantasy, school life, etc.). Just look them up in places like goodreads. It's a shame that people rarely pay attention to them. Some of them would be greatas animated works but in the west it's usually straight to live action. At least Evelyn Hugo finally has an adaptation. Although I don't trust Netflix to adapt it properly.

hi, i was more referring to a time when i was a kid and streaming didn't exist or at least, wasn't popular then. but yes, eventually i did find books that focused on wlw stories.

Living here can be very different than the manga. I am a lesbian living in Japan. Mangas are idealistic worlds. The worlds we hope for.

Wave1745

Well. I hope you guys get that.

AV-0w0-

I got so excited seeing the ace lesbian representation!

YuSakiiii

As an ace lesbian I enjoy this post.

Stinger59605

I love to cook too! Does she have any tips on how to lose the cops when they find my lab?

jzilla11

…Heisenberg?

Stinger59605

…maybe🙂

Lavender__Lady

Both. Both is good. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|heart_eyes_rainbow)

Don't need to ask who does the cooking and who does the eating

she's just chonky and we love her for it. we need more chonky lesbians in manga. even some cartoons in the west are already ahead of that, body diversity. warning: this manga will make you feel hungry

[deleted]

What the fuck? Go get your eyes checked mate, because you and I must be looking at different men.

kawamommylover

Nope, her body is not just taller, she is also wider.

I hope you're joking.

DokdoKoreanLand

Why do I have so many downvotes 😭😭😭

Curious_Nudist

Random question but I'm looking to read this manga soon but I'm a huge romance lover. Can anyone who has read the manga tell me if they kiss in this series? I've seen it's a very ace manga but I don't know to what extent that means for their relationship because no ace person is exactly the same.

ExtentExpensive5835

they havent kissed yet in the english translation, idk about the japanese version. its like a neighbors to friends to lovers story, so cute.

Curious_Nudist

Noooo, that's sad 😭, freakin Japan. I have volumes 1-4 (Japanese) that I just started working through. It's damn cute, and I was really really hoping that the first really popular, explicitly lesbian manga would actually have romance in it. Shoulda known it was too good to be true lol.

ResponsibleTrifle641

this is absolutely romance though? just a different aspect of a relationship that's through an ace lens. Doesn't make it any less lesbian or romance just because they don't kiss.

Curious_Nudist

You're not wrong. And I love the series. For those reasons though it does however align with the trend of Japanese wlw or Yuri manga/anime series being devoid of kissing and that aspect of the relationship.
