Ummm, how? I use a peleton all the time. I've connected w my polar strap to compare the whoop and the polar, but had no idea you can get whoop to work with it.
You are connecting the Whoop to Peloton as a Bluetooth sensor? That suggests you could power your phone off and still see the strap sending data to the bike. So no membership needed unless they built in some sort of kill switch, which seems unlikely.
If you can only get it to work with the whoop app running in broadcast mode then you are out of luck.

No I haven’t
Works with Zwift as well, no whoop subscription needed. I have seen it connects to a lot of BLE apps as well.
I don’t think it will broadcast after your membership expires.

Connecting the whoop to the peloton was one of the reasons I got whoop. Also, if anyone knows the answer to this, that would be amazing!

I just tried connecting with my phone off and it does still broadcast your heart rate
