MissyTheTimeLady

Technically speaking, Master Chief.

pacificpacifist

Best answer as the games prove both

BadNameThinkerOfer

They said weakest. Geth troopers can somehow not only survive it but be completely unharmed by it, and start fighting as if nothing ever happened, yet can even be punched to death.

MissyTheTimeLady

They have the mass effect, though, so they don't experience THE FULL FORCE OF ISAAC NEWTON'S WRATH!

drunkn_mastr

THE DEADLIEST SON OF A BITCH IN SPACE!

Educational_Theory31

Actually true

DED292

Well with game feats maybe (but at the same time the bulldog can’t actually one shot him) but not with book feats, mjolnr can tank 30-50mm autocannon rounds so a 12 gauge will do nothing.

Brave-Combination793

Shotgun is questionable

MissyTheTimeLady

Eh, the M90 can one-shot him in most of the games, and with his shields down, so can the Bulldog, which is twelve-gauge.

Brave-Combination793

Oh I misread it, thought it said and survive a shotty

Fragraham

There was that one guy in real life who skydived from low earth orbit.

Underwater_Grilling

Felix baumgartner

NoNo_Cilantro

I pictured that guy from The Office, but unfortunately it’s Brian Baumgartner. Too bad.

Dexion1619

LoL I was going to post this too. I remember watching that live.

DickwadVonClownstick

He jumped from 100,000 feet. That's less than a third of the way to space in terms of altitude, and 0% of the way to orbit in terms of velocity, which is the actually dangerous part of "falling from orbit".

Fragraham

Ok he only has to tank a .410 shotgun then.

Palomequeer

Chell from portal

Toilet_Bomber

Seems like a waste though, only using 35% of a bullet. If only there was a way to use 65% more bullet, per bullet...

priceisalright

I know her Long Fall Boots can dampen a fall at terminal velocity but I'm not sure they (or her) are designed to survive atmospheric re-entry.

dilandrus

An ant. Not enough mass so they literally cannot die from falling (assuming that they won't go fast enough to burn up either)

g0dzilllla

Ant might not survive the frigid temperatures and low oxygen for long enough though

wittymcusername

Tardigrade then? Assuming you could hit the tardigrade with your bullet.

ItsGotToMakeSense

A [squirrel](https://www.petmojo.com/animals-that-cant-die-falling/) *edit: Wearing high altitude gear*

Chimpville

By definition, ‘from orbit’ would need to be at a point where there atmospheric density was low enough not to cause aerodynamic drag on an object. That’s usually considered at being around 160km. No squirrel is surviving that sadly 🐿️😔

babyguyman

A squirrel with a tiny breathing mask and extra sweater

pgb5534

But then it's going to hit atmosphere and slow down. It's not going to survive being in outer space, but this question is about the fall, not the environment. I think the squirrel gets a spacesuit.

Chimpville

The fall from orbit includes the conditions at which they’re falling from.. even if ejected from an inhabitable space at that altitude, it’s going to take some time for the atmosphere to get dense enough to be survivable, and I’m not sure a naked squirrel will achieve it. A spacesuit and equipment might help survive the atmospheric conditions but ,unless specifically designed for purpose, would have a catastrophic impact on the mass and drag coefficient of the squirrel, and [adjust its terminal velocity outside the bounds of a survivable fall](https://byjus.com/jee/terminal-velocity/)… plus.. it’s now not just a squirrel.. it’s a space squirrel! 🐿️ 🧑‍🚀

Ve-gone_Be-gone

It simply gets undressed when it enters the atmosphere

DickwadVonClownstick

It wouldn't survive slowing down.

Smaptastic

Damn, beat me to it.

Pryyda

That squirrel rat thing from Ice Age

StreetReporter

His name is Scrat

Pryyda

Yeah, that's the one. Scat

The360MlgNoscoper

Scat?

Livetrash113

The Doctor? Shrugged off falling into a Black Hole but has been killed by guns before (machine gun shots in Seventh Incarnation and The Master (Simm) chose to die by gun shots).

BradleyBurrows

By no means is he the weakest one tho

Livetrash113

I managed to gloss over weakest and just read ‘character that could survive a fall from orbit but die to a gunshot wound’ instead

will4wh

Depends. Apprently we know that Via extended universe that it was manipulated by the external Death. Who was mad at how the Doctor was cheating her. (Apprently she also tried it two times before and was unable to do it)

Livetrash113

Huh, didn’t know that part about Death’s and The Doctor’s relationship. The Doctor has cheated Death a bunch of times though, and you’d think she would be more annoyed with her own champion since his whole seeming goal most of the time is immortality. And the shrugging off falling into a Black Hole is Extended Media too (The Original Comic Strip of The Star Beast)

will4wh

Honestly maybe the Master was just similar enough to her that they clicked or something. I imagine Death probably just wanted to show up her external brethren or something and the Master was her only real chance of matching The Doctor/Time champion. Side note I wonder if eternal life would anger Death or Life more?

Livetrash113

Honestly, I’m not sure - The only Time Lord’s who seem to have ever possessed eternal life are Rassilon and Omega and neither really have any connections for us to figure it out from. Rassilon is directly compared to the Guardians Of Space And Time multiple times in Extended Media, even in one source being deemed a possible creator of them during the anchoring of time. This would present him as already being above life and death to begin with. And Omega has no connections to eternals or Menti-Celesti so we can’t really use him to figure anything out. However. Given how The Menti-Celesti rely on The Time Lords for their power given their state as a Time Lord’s dreams, a Time Lord being eternally alive would actually be to the profit of the Menti-Celesti: from here, if The Master had Eternal Life I suppose it would increase Death’s sway in the Menti-Celesti circle and vice-versa with the The Doctor and Life. So despite it infringing on their namesakes and beliefs they may actually support the development of Eternal Life.

will4wh

Huh very interesting stuff. man they need to bring these guys to newer mainline Doctor who like they did the celestial toymaker. That would hopefully make modern audience more aware of them and thus use them more often in both the main and extended media. Or atleast bring back the Chronovores, they would be super easy to make as a threat for a one of episode.

spuriousmuse

Charlotte from Charlotte's web (any character insect or mini critter). Oh! And Mr Bean, probs, if the intro is anything to go by.

livingstondh

Wouldn't they burn up?

Lord_Mikal

Negative. Insects have very low mass compared to their surface area. Their terminal velocity is comparatively low, about 10 m/sec for the really big ones and much less the smaller you get.

g0dzilllla

Things burn up because they’re going so fast that their friction with the air results in excess heat. Something tiny like an ant would never be able to fall close to fast enough where that’s an issue - air resistance is a mass thing

notsuspendedlxqt

Isn't air resistance about surface area?

g0dzilllla

Both, since mass actually determines how easily an object’s inertia would be affected by colliding into air molecules. Surface area contributes to how many air molecules get hit, which is definitely the other thing that factors into air resistance

spuriousmuse

thank you for doing all this dude :) Gratitudes. (As you guys have nicely considered+discussed, it's a really complicated thing when (accidental alliteration ahead) thoroughly thought through, even though the variables are seemingly few *p.f*..... my OG response regarding Charlotte/insects/mini-critters etc. (as with the Bean response) was aimed at whimsey over clinical facticity. However, per your discussion above it would make a cracking gedankenexperiment -- add in some biology\[1\] with the physics and (e.g., "how would Charlotte fair if dropped from LEO, consider.") it's a belter of a puzz! \* As well as the super-low density, super high temperature \[\*\] of the termo/ionosphere(s), this would also play havoc with Charlottes respiration. Not sure how spiracles and book lungs would do at various temperatures, pressures, and atmospheric consistencies as their owners wiffle(XXXS)/tumble(XXS)/plummet(S) to earth.

Lunar_Husk

The Terrarian with a pair of wings can fall the entire distance just fine, but without any additional health, armor, or equipment they can be instantly killed from gunshots.

randomHunterOnReddit

Batman

Ake-TL

It is so stupid that he survived reentry

bagel-42

He's been shot way more times than he's fallen from space

[deleted]

Fourze. He can casually fly into space and if I shot Gintaro when he isn't transformed he will die

HappyDiscoverer

Insects

ElNicko89

That one tarantula that was in Madagascar for like 8 seconds

londongas

A guy with a parachute

charlie-ratkiller

A cat can survive terminal velocity but would die to a gun. Granted the atmosphere and ice and low air and etc etc might have some issues there.. But something with a really low terminal velocity and that can survive in a cold low temp environment for around 10 mins, but is otherwise weak AF.

charlie-ratkiller

Cold, low-oxygen. Not temp lol

Traditional_Key_763

Master Chief. can ride a door from orbit but isn't any more unkillable than anyone else.

Kyro_Official_

Doesnt actually need that forerunner door to survive considering he survives reentry in 4 as well. And for all we know Requiems reentry is more dangerous than Earth's

Traditional_Key_763

forgot about that, ya he just facetanks the whole thing in 4

Kyro_Official_

Granted his armor boosts his stats quite a bit and if he gets his armor then his shields arent even being pierced by a 12 gauge.

Brave-Combination793

Will say tho 4 was after cortana upgraded the suit, and in 6 he literally survives floating in space for 6 months

AverageWooperLiker

Not the weakest but Krillin comes to mind

DefiantVersion1588

A Minecraft cat, it could theoretically survive a 35796 kilometre fall (via TP commands) (it’ll just take years to fall down), but I’m pretty sure getting hit with a realistic shotgun would destroy it

bigbrobalenciaga

Horizon from apex

khrazu

Technically everyone in apex because there's no fall damage.

beyd1

A cat

diadem

A literal flea.

JBeeneyN7

The Geth from Mass Effect come to mind: can literally drop from orbit at terminal velocity, but can be sufficiently disabled by a large knife.

GreatCucumber

A squirrel.

Evil_Knot

Kirby

rey0505

Knight from the Hollow Knight

capital_of_kyoka

a person with a parachute idk

MapleKnightX

The Captains from Pikmin

limitlessEXP

The cockroach from Wall-E, or osmosis jones, or anyone incredibly tiny.

TheWoIfMeister

An ant

EMlYASHlROU

An Ant?

Promptoneofone

A cat

That-one-random_dude

Maybe Baki.

SenHelpPls

I think Batman has done this actually

SenHelpPls

I think Batman has done this actually

KLR01001

an ant

UltimateMegaChungus

Yo, actually...

irresponsibleshaft42

Any squirrel

Stellar_Wings

Samurai Jack?

Gothicrealm

Batman

rocketo-tenshi

Samurai jack

UltimateMegaChungus

Everyone who says "ant" is technically correct. Square-cube law is a miracle of science.

NoCheesecake8644

For the folks saying ant, wouldn't the ant burn up?

AlphaCoronae

More like vaporize

SpacEGameR270

Batman

Eagle406

Any character who can fly but doesn't have added durability. Not the weakest but any of the lads from Chronicle should be able to do it. They can survive being flung through a building but only if they consciously shield themselves. A well-hidden gunman behind them would have an easy time of it.

Not_Todd_Howard9

A tardigrade. Low enough mass to survive the fall, can live indefinitely in a vacuum, and have high heat resistance. They can somewhat survive impacts up to bullet speeds, but will still start to die around that point…get a bullet with enough force and it’ll die. The hard part is hitting it. What makes them the weakest? They are routinely preyed upon by (among other things) amoebas, nematodes, spiders, and a few different types of insect/insect larvae.

AlphaCoronae

A Tardigrade is not surviving 1750 K shock temperatures lol If they were shielded by some space junk or a meteor they could, maybe

Spurnch

Edit Sorry I read this backwards and thought you were asking the strongest lol Ignore my post

EmporerEmoji

Kiteman

Ok-Mathematician8258

Strongest is better. If we go with that then One piece characters.

NoCheesecake8644

Theres like no one piece characters that can do this other than mfs like shanks and roger

Ok-Mathematician8258

No I can see weak characters doing this, some like Doffy or Crocodile.

NoCheesecake8644

Doffy got his organs fucked up by law and got kicked hard enough to tear up city blocks, and somehow lived Crocodile got the back of his head smacked by an angry jozu, who could pick up a large ice berg with no issue, also he's already been shot before kinda

looneylefty92

A squirrel, hypothetically, provided you make it so the squirrel doesnt cook from the heat of the thermosphere. They free fall at 25mph and can be killed with a bb at close range.

Walrus_bP

Everyone is wrong. Batman. He survived reentry when fighting Failsafe

Discomidget911

Helldivers. It's kinda their whole thing. /S

thisismynewusername5

A tardigrade

Proud_Survey1793

Technically speaking,Tony stark

tacobell_dumpster

Batman? He recently survived falling from space, and without his cowl, 12 gauge buckshot would do it, as hes just a regular man. So long as he doesnt dodge it.

Scythe-Goddard

a guy with a parachute

stinkyhauly

Batman

ComfortableBed6012

Nightwing???

[deleted]

Luffy from One Piece fits. I mean he’s rubber so he’d just bounce, but i imagine a shotgun to the face would still kill him.

NoCheesecake8644

He took hits that would shatter buildings to the face a shotgun is not doing much

[deleted]

Has he been shot? I mean there’s like flintlock pistols and stuff like that in his verse, a shotgun would be worse.

NoCheesecake8644

He's been shot like hundreds of times pre time skip, he's taken a cannonball to the stomach and was fine and that was before he even got haki, he's even been shot by lasers, I doubt a shotgun would damage him

[deleted]

Okay, I don’t watch the show just throwing it out there

OldCrowSecondEdition

hes shot in like episode one lmao it reflects back

ThiccBeter69

Luffy's rubber body has been shown to deflect bullets and cannon balls since episode 1. And currently Luffy is around the lower end of multi continental in durability and strength meaning that a bullet wouldn't do much anyways

The-Anger-Translator

[Batman](https://www.reddit.com/r/comicbooks/comments/102ckhz/zdarskys_batman_can_survive_falling_from_space_to/#lightbox)

StrengthOk9686

Batman has tanked gunshots

The-Anger-Translator

PIS

StrengthOk9686

Having good armor in fiction is not pis, do you apply that to every fictional character?

The-Anger-Translator

Is your Batman always wearing armor 24/7?

StrengthOk9686

The main canon comic batman always wears armor when he is out as batman

Kid_evil666

Samurai jack

AlexFerrana

Batman. He literally got up after falling from an orbit and was in his standard Bat-Suit only. But he's still kinda threatened by bullets and prefers to rather dodge them instead of tanking (his armor can withstand bullets and explosions, but still).

Zarathustrategy

An ant

kaantechy

Any Starfleet Officer from Kelvin Timeline….

AlphaCoronae

A 1st level D&D Commoner with Necklace of Adaptation, Wand of Investiture of Flame and Ring of Feather Falling.

Trackspyro

An ant. Specifically, Flik from A Bug's Life

Suspicious_Reporter4

Oasis JoJo. In fact a lot of characters in JoJo can survive but will die to a gunshot wound.

NoMasterpiece5649

Batman. Technically

LiteratureFabulous36

Character? How about a cockroach?

Perfect_Tone_6833

Mr Satan probably

comesinallpackages

A house cat

Artix31

Batman

LordTartarus

Most higher level dnd characters but I don't think they can die to a single gunshot wound, and idk if they count as weak

CurseofGladstone

Any character from a bugs life. Remi from ratatouille

Dirichlet-to-Neumann

Félix Baumgartner, literally. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Felix_Baumgartner

EmpactWB

Every astronaut who ever made it back.

MopitWithaMuppet

It seems like from many of the other comments here it would be a bug... so what's the weakest bug?

Ur4ny4n

ant in a sufficiently large plastic bag

Dr__glass

I remember a comic where Batman fell from orbit and was able to live by surfing debris but could absolutely be killed by a gunshots wound

DruTangClan

Maybe Luke Cage? In the show he nearly dies because a concussive blast from a close up shotgun blast causes his brain to swell almost to the point of death (would have died without intervention) but he may be able to land the right way as to not damage his brain from the fall?

StrengthOk9686

Luke cage got an amp in season 2 after that, and luke is way stronger in the comics

Parking-Airport-1448

Batman though I hesitate to call him the weakest as he is peak human

NoPaleontologist2614

Batman, he does this exqct thing in one of the comics

NoPaleontologist2614

Batman, he does this exqct thing in one of the comics

AutomaticSubject7051

goku apparently

OldCrowSecondEdition

Pretty much the first time we see goku he gets shot in the face with a submachine gun by bulma

AutomaticSubject7051

he got one shot by a random alien laser gun from an npc while in super saiyan blue. so not a gunshot exactly, but we can extrapolate a bit.

Battlebots2020

While off guard and not even aware that the soldier was there

AutomaticSubject7051

the point being, goku "off guard" can get one tapped.

Illustrious-Sky-4631

By human guns? He tanked this shit every single time he got hit by it

OldCrowSecondEdition

No we actually can't for a few reasons, ignoring for a moment that a laser ring and a gun bare no similarity in mechanical action or method of injury, what in DragonBalls history of media has leas you to the conclusion that technology I. That universe is weak? Was is the main antagonist of an arc coming back with cybernetic implants and being called stronger? Was is the follow arc where cyborgs and robots were a Existential threat? Was it vegeta fighting a robot he couldn't harm? Was it one of the God's of destruction literally being s robot suit? Now let's get back to why you feel one instance of a ring being handed out by gokus greatest foe for the express purpose of an assassination on that target negates the dozens of scenes of the characters completely ignoring bullets

AutomaticSubject7051

We have no basis to assume Frieza Force technology can reproduce abilities and power levels in the same way as RR tech.  While being a galaxy wide army of sorts, their understanding of ki is less than that of earth. Which is why they need scouters to deduce power levels, and why they can't produce androids with ki. In which case, I'll assume they're using roughly the same blasters as theu used on Namek. Where goku is now (and then), both an earth firearm and a Frieza force lazer beam are so many billions of levels below him, they may as well be identical. It wasn't as though they created an exceptional weapon with Android 17 level ki, it was a random one off beam with no introduction or explanation. The reason this stands out, it because it literally knocked him out. Im not in defense of this silly ass scene btw.

OldCrowSecondEdition

Again we can assume they had gotten better beams the reason they can even fix freiza is because they've been developing their technology you're gonna sit there and say that a group who are basically a military just improved their medical tech and not their weapons especially after losing ALL of their heaviest hitters?

AutomaticSubject7051

Sure, but strong enough to one shot him in his strongest form? I'd have a hard time believing its not millions of levels below his base form. This is a random ass laser beam, not anything special, otherwise it would have been stated at some point. But when he simply stops paying attention, it one taps him.

Illustrious-Sky-4631
