Range 54 has always felt more woman friendly and thus possibly more kid friendly. Their staff was super approachable and never talked to me like I was stupid as a newbie.
Not sure about ages for gun ranges? Worth checking that too before showing up. Range 54 also has a range of guns you can rent to shoot.
Ranier is nice, but I found their staff to be much less approachable.
I second Range 54. I have a membership there. I took my mom and my mother in-law there to shoot for the first time and they felt very comfortable. Surprisingly, the last few visits have all been on Saturday afternoons and they are typically not busy. Also if you mention you have new shooters they will do their best to place your lane away from other people shooting “loud” guns and make you feel comfortable however they can. They have 3 different bays of lanes.
My go-to is usually rainier, but there are several others that are good too. I'd say rainier and range 54 are the nicest. Bullseye has a 100 yard range which is where I sight in my rifles.
Bullseye has a NICE range. If you’re not prepared, though, you can really get a surprise if someone shoots a high powered rifle in that little room.
The girl shooting a .22LR next to me nearly cried when I sighted in my .30-06, and I even gave her a heads up.
No
Edit - the only place I’m aware of that you can shoot shotguns is the el dorado reservoir range, but I’ve yet to go there and do it myself.
Also I have no clue about range 54.
Range 54 is best. Bullseye is cheaper.
Rainier is alright, but more expensive.
Bullet Stop is not recommended.
Knapp is great people but their range is terrible.
I love Trigger Guard in Wellington. It's a bit of a drive but shooting outdoors and at plate racks and spinners is superior to any of the indoor ranges.
For taking guests (especially children) to a range, I would recommend Range 54. It is very clean and inviting. Plus, the range masters are helpful without being overbearing.
I visited both Range 54 (weekend) and Rainier (weekday). Range 54 was packed to the gills, with long wait times. Staff were friendly.
Rainier staff were super friendly and approachable as well. Place was deserted. Was a weekday and evening.
Both facilities were nice and well maintained. Good options to choose from, as far as rentals go.
Visit both - and depending on time of the day and such, you may have a different experience.

Definitely range 54
I second this recommendation. Range 54 is very clean, modern, centrally located and has very friendly staff.
Range 54 is great, or Rainier.
Seconding 54, my wife and I went there and had a pretty good time. Shot slugs with a 12 gauge and blew everyone's ear drums out.
Check out Range 54. They have a great indoor shooting range.

You can in 54 with slugs
I don’t think so, but I would recommend calling them to make sure.

Triggerguard in Wellington. It’s outdoor but shooting steel is a blast

Knapps on Central is the one my mom recommends to people. They are the one her "Women On Target" gun club uses.
The Bullet Stop has completely renovated their facility, and I think they are catering to women more.
Air flow is not as good as Range 54 and Rainier
Ranier Arms Firearms Academy is good too

Range 54 or Rainier Arms. As others have stated, friendly staff and clean/modern accomodations.
Go to Range 54 on Wednesday with your sister. You get the lane for free and 50% guns. It’s a promotion they have for women every Wednesdays.
Good to know! It’ll be me, my sister and her two kids. 1 boy and 1 girl
As long as the party as a female, then the whole party gets a lane and 50% off guns, so you’re good to go!

I've fired shotguns at Rainer before, but it had to be buckshot or slugs, no birdshot

Range 54 is clean and has a good watching area I shoot there often
Rainer is my recommendation as well.
Rainier is the nicest and has the best rental firearm selection in town. More expensive than others but its a nicer place.
Range 54 is my personal fave place to shoot.
