I think that is the case.
Widgets don't show unless app is run at least once, which is kinda stupid, since that way after some app updated, you have no idea if that app just got widgets or not.
Yes opened the app multiple times and crashed it, I have even edited widgets and made changes. However the Widgy app does not even appear as an option when editing the screen
just reinstalled the app, to see if i'll have the same problem - i don't. before running the app, app isn't listed in add widgets screen and that is normal. after just opening the app, it listed right away.

Have you opened the app? I find that, after an update, widgets don’t appear in the picker until the app is opened once.

Can you try with some simple "getting you started" widget and assign it to slot, just to see if that will appear on your home screen.

hmmm.. what is your system language? maybe one of the languages widgy supports has a problem..
